I found it to be rather good myself.

kind of a boring game, the attack the weak point design of every enemy makes the enounters very uninteresting. The dino robots were the best thing about the game but this makes them feel poorly implemented. In its attempts to implement modern mechanics like crafting, gathering, dodge rolling it sells the premise short with half baked implementations of all of them. Most of the time you're on foot you'll be unconsciously button spamming through gathering and after a trip likely crafting equipment enmasse with little regard for what it is you got to make whatever it is you're making. Dodge rolling too feels like it's something they saw dark souls doing, though it would make their game better and instead of understanding how they do it in dark souls with very carefully done attack animations with ideal windows for dodging and your own iframe activation, they just gave the entire animation invincibility so you're basically rolling around without a care or stamina to manage.

The story has this tendency to constantly remind you that Aloy is) are just as capable as men. To say it doesn't get extremely tiring and tedious to have every quest start the same way - Aloy enters scene and spots a troubled person with a quest icon over head. Aloy approaches and we enter shot-reverse-shot vision to see the potato models right up close. The NPC gripes about their issue, and you have the option to make Aloy say she'll help. When she says so, the character chides "but a woman! How can a woman solve my problems which will likely involve following a dotted line to a thing, doing it, killing a thing, then returning!" Aloy will protest, smugly that she is a strong woman and just as capable as any man. The quest proceeds, you complete it and return. The now embarrassed quest giver looking at his feet, on the verge of tears whimpers out "here's your reward, I guess women ARE just as capable as men" then the weirdest thing happens, the character looks up at you, the player, and winks.

Great combat mechanics, an intriguing story, an insufferable protagonist and a whole lot of open world crafting. Also when the game tells you to shoot something with fire arrows, it means "shoot until that bar fills completely" not just "shoot it once and wonder why it does no damage". There, I just saved you five hours of frustration.

An okay/decent game, only gripe was that it was far too easy, even when starting on the hardest difficulty. Wish there was more opportunities to use traps but maybe I wasn't creative enough

You never feel the gravity of your actions actually helping make the world a better place. Protag is on a selfish quest for her own goals and everyone on the way just says "Wow Aloy youre so cool and strong." Its fucking self aggrandizing shlock. Good gameplay though.

It's incredible how all these limped dick journalists praised HZD for the characters when Aloy doesn't even have a personality or an arch, she starts confident, skillful, quippy, fearless and ends the exact same way, oh what a fun character.
If I could rewrite the character I'd make some flaws like maybe she resents her tribe for making her an outcast and she's kinda spiteful, maybe all those years of isolation have made her a bit antisocial and she isn't the most popular girl in the world.

Honestly what bothers me the most is that the game can’t decide is if these people are just a bunch of unga bunga cavemen who have no clue about the beforetimes and believe in gods and spirits and shit and fear robots or technological geniuses that could take apart any machine and put it back together again or reassemble it into something else without breaking a sweat.

I was thinking about this for a future sequel, once Aloy learns the truth about the world it makes everyone seem very stupid. For example in the dlc expansion there's a guy who's banging on some pipes like to please the spirits and Aloy just stands there like "oh cool keep doing that for the rest of your life".
It also contradicts some character designs, for example why does Sylence have all those wires on his body, he has as much knowledge of the modern world as I do yet I don't have a bunch of plastic attached to my body.

It also kinda pissed me off how cheap the "I'm a retard cavemen" some of the conversations were.

Well, Sylens played dumb and became a Banuk shaman or whatever and got the wires put in intentionally. But you are right for the most part. Because the writers didn’t want to address those questions and wanted to go for “cavemen times but with robots”, they decided to make everyone who isn’t named Aloy or Sylens dumb as shit.

This game came in a bundle with my playstation 4 along with ratchet and clank and the las of us, but i haven't played yet.

They do on some occasions, and it's enough to cost you a trophy at the end of the game if you make certain choices.

I watched the noclip documentary on youtube and it's very clear that the concept of HZD changed a bunch through the 8 years of coming up with the idea and development. At one point they explicitly say that the scraped everything except for the red head FEMALE (please give me attention yes I made a female character in 2017 crazy huh) protagonist and hunting machines.
So basically the story changed but Aloy's "personality" was not. Also Aloy became a bucket for developers to make the most awesomest character evar so she ended up with no flaws and she doesn't feel like a person.
It reminded me of Naruto where they both want a respectful position in their communities so they aren't outcasts anymore but at least Naruto has flaws he's childish, irresponsible, dumb, jealous, depressed, overcompensates constantly, annoying, at the bottom of the class and over the course of the series he improves while Aloy just starts as perfectly confident as she ends no need to have a character arch when your character is already perfect.

Naruto doesn't improve, he's just granted competence by outside forces. He's still just as stupid up until the last second right before he becomes Hokage, and other characters had to force him to learn the village history offscreen. That's not character development. Same goes for every time naruto won a fight.

I'm on the Final Battle but backtrack to do all Sidequest,the Game is really good,the world is beatifull with many type of locations,dinamic weather and Cicle of Day and Night,the Robots designs are cool and you can take many aproachs to the battle againts them.
My only complain is why are all the NPC's so FUCKING UGLY...i mean all the people you help are Disgusting,not to mention the obvious "Woman strong and Capable,Men Mad or Bad" writing.
I still enjoy playing it.

Did you even watch the series? Naruto starts at the bottom of the class to then become the most powerful person on Earth. He masters techniques that the past Hokage and his other masters could do it. He overcomes his depression and anger and that allows him to use the ninetails. Once he's hokage he takes it very seriously and not like the selfish image of a hokage he had when he was a kid. If you want a tangible example look at the Naruto fight against Sasuke when they where kids and the the rematch once they are older, in the first fight Naruto is seething and doesn't understand anything, in the rematch Naruto is calmed and much wiser.

To say he didn't improve is to have worms for brains.
