Yes, the zero grav shit is very videogamey. I love dealing with some of the more obnoxious, terribly designed enemies in this videogame.

i find that is is really strong with atmosphere but not that fun. a lot of the gameplay is based on shooting, but the enemies and weapons are not fun, and collecting junk to craft with, which is not really my thing. that made it tiring, because at first you are all wide-eyed, seeing these obvious additional routes that require different and high level skills, and you make a mental note to come back. but soon enough you realize it will just be more crafting junk and not interesting enough to come back explore, so you just end up bee-lining through the game to get it over with.

Is a good game, underappreciated cult classic that does a good job of being spiritual successor to games it obviously rips off. Level design and atmosphere particularly strong i like that you can literally go anywhere in the space station and that it's actually mapped out properly so you get a good sense of scale in the gameworld

I'd love for you to point to where I implied the game was hard. I think it's just a chore, and the Typhon are terrible enemies to fight, and the zero-grav shit only exacerbates how unfun a lot of the Typhon are.

if you dont want to craft play ayy lmao powers or just stack all the wrench skills with focus and steamroll the game all the way to the credits. for powers there's a even a quest in game that makes them all ridiculous because you can effectively have unlimited psi.

The game definitely needed more enemy variety. Having elemental versions of enemies was lazy.

Nigger full wrench build makes the game easy and requires no crafting. Limited crafting would just be annoying and restrict build variety.

Nureomods are fun. If they wete restricted allthat would do is make wrench builds even more viable.

Beat this three times and e fun is tge sandbox nature of the game. Have fun trying different poers weapons and routes

The writing totally falls apart by the end of the game. Seriously. The game establishes that you can't permanently kill the fucking things, yet blowing up the station is supposed to rectify the situation? And it's supposed to save the planet? The call already went out and was answered. Fish in a big ocean? We're getting mauled by sharks. They've smelt blood in the water and we've only added to it since the start of the game.

And I mean, that's just the problem with the writing relating to that ending. The nullwave ending tries to talk you out of going down that route via talking about how it'll just be some pro-corporate status quo. It's puffed up like an evil route and they say that it'll just lead the experiments and neuromod shit to continue. But if you're wiping out the Typhon as a species with one big fucking pulse, that sort of ends the neuromod problem. You can't make more if you obliterate the species they're sourced from.

Yeah, but neither of those options are really important to the actual ending, which was more concerned if you decided whether you would destroy research into the Typhon or try to learn from them.
I agree it's a little weak in the moment itself but the actual ending contextualizes the choice better.
