Just found out there's fucking metal gears in this game.

Look at this angry Yea Forumsirgin.
ded game
Shit game, fuck off.
shit game
shit game for casual normies, kill it and go outside
the council has spoked
nah
planet generation is still shit
>normies
irony
I want Yea Forums to like this game and have a community to fight reddit but you fags are being contrarian for the sake of it
my fleet in pic related
i like the game op, have you travelled to the center of the galaxy yet?
it shit me out in some new red galaxy thats full of sentinels and extreme wather bullshit
I tried a pirated for 5-6 hours. It was mildly entertaining but not enough to buy it so i uninstalled and moved on. the main issue, at least in the beginning is the inventory, It's suffocating and overly convoluted which makes little sense in a game where mining and grinding is 99% of your tasks. I understand you can upgrade as you progress but, while i enjoy a slow progress, i found this one too slow.
I managed to reach the big fuck off purple ball in space what's it called, anomaly? I think which opened up a fuckload of blueprints, that was nice. Another thing i enjoyed was finding an abbandoned ruined ship on a planet that i could claim and repair for myself. That's nice but the costs of repairements were absurdly high. Mainly a fuckload of copper. I roamed around to mine some but after an hour i wanted to kill myself and uninstalled. I think it might have potential. If it ever costs less than $10. Maybe
another thing that didn't help was i've just finished Subnautica so i'm a bit full with this genre
Genuine question, is the game actually good now?
I tried to pick it up a while ago when they came out with a big update but I got kinda bored again. Form what I remember its a pain in the ass having to refill your oxygen and environmental hazard shit all the time, even with upgrades.
the thing to do is find out a way to make money like doing missions or archeology and then buying the shit you dont feel like mining yourself
just pirate it and use cheat engine
the mods are definitely useful, thank god it's piss easy to mod this game
I had this game since launch and I never really went to another galaxy
I find it enjoyable but I usually play it for like a couple weeks, and then I switch to something else because it can get a little repetitive
last time I played it was last year, I loved playing it I made my first base (pic related) and I had tons of fun with the exocraft and shit, mining and buying new ships, sending freighters for missions and buying/selling new materials
the best way to make money for me was duping, collapsing a system's economy, warp somewhere else and doing it all over again
I'm playing on PS4, I don't really care about multiplayer and reddit stuff. My PC has a lot of power, never thought of this.
neat
Why are the inventory slots moved around? Is it to randomize the layout? Like i have this ship with the first three slots of a row nonexistant, then a slot, then a blank, then whatever. Can i "fill" the blank ones somehow?
you have to buy a new ship for a different slot layout, but theres mods that can give you max slots on everything
or a less cheat mod that gives all ships more than average slots depending on rank
I mean the fact it's moddable already extends the game's life.
How is this game performance wise? I pirated the first version but it ran like ass. If it was around 20 bucks I would probably try to buy.
inventory slots on ships and multitools are set randomly when you buy it, but you can upgrade your backpack however you want. also beyond now lets you move installed tech around so its very easy to optimize your shit
I see. Do i have to go in specific places to buy new ships? Can i roam around and find wreckege for free? Are they expensive?
>How is this game performance wise?
I have a 1080 and an i7 with 16 ram and it doesn't run very well. It gets stutters when moving in and out of a planet and in other transition zones. Sometimes the terrain flickers or takes half a sec to load the texture properly If you run too fast. It's generally badly optimized
Found a system where two planets were practically on top of each other
>but you can upgrade your backpack however you want
Oh ok. Is there a limit on the max space i can add on my suit? Do i upgrade the one i have or are there new suits to buy like for the ships?
Thanks, too bad, maybe I'll try a pirated version then decide if it's tolerable.
every System of planets has its set amount of ships.
one system will always have the same ships, but the rank (C, B, A) will change over time randomly
if you want more ships you have to jump a system and hope for some cool designs, but once you find one you like and just need a better rank you can just wait in that system for the higher rank to spawn
>How is this game performance wise? I pirated the first version but it ran like ass. If it was around 20 bucks I would probably try to buy.
It's not performing well on the PS4, so I guess on PC it's slightly better but I heard mixed opinions. there are a few performance mods, I'll try and pirate it for PC in the next few days.
I wish the game was a little more "realistic" when it comes to planets, moons and stuff.
Haven't found a system with two stars, for example.
slots are random: you can buy new ones, expanding your inventory, but the starting layout is usually random and most of the time is retarded, because with technologies having similar power-ups in nearby slots make them more efficient, so a good layout is mandatory
>Nu Man's Sky
no thanks
Is combat any fun? Both ground and space. There any pvp?
fpbp
you get 48 general slots, 48 cargo an like 20 technology. you can upgrade the suit on space stations, go up to the guy that sells the suit upgrades and theres a floating backpack behind him. just keep in mind that they get more expensive with each purchase so maybe look into making money first
only nms screen I have
you can hurt players yes, just depends if they enabled player damage
combat against the sentinels can be fun once they get the dog robots out, and the metal gears are fucking impossible if you dont upgrade your shield
ground fighting can be fun, but it's pretty much the same thing over and over and once you upgraded your gear it's not very entertaining
space dogfighting, on the other hand, can be fun since most of the time I get assaulted by space pirates while I'm piloting my big ass hauler, and I had to put some weaponry on it
also helping freighters is very fun, I wish I had VR to experience this
PvP does exist but the game/community system doesn't really encourage it
what settings tend to tank performance the most that aren't obvious?
animation quality doesnt seem to do much so i just leave it in Ultra, but what about volumetric settings and planet quality?
It's beautiful. The more screens I see the more interested I'm getting about this desu.
>this is what a dollar will get you in terms of shills
Ah ok, so basically i could check the general layouts on a wiki and then keep jumping until i find a system with a model i'd like to randomize?
Ok, any particularly easy way to make money without cheating? I've seen that animals meat sell well and also those cube things you find underground but It's mildly boring after a bit
Another thing. I've built on my first "base" planet a locker to store extra stuff but it needs fuel to be used and has only 5 spaces. Does it get better later? Are there bigger blueprints? Because in this type of game i want to hoard mountains of shit and i can't unless i cover a fucking planet with lockers
its honestly so promising, the base building is there now anything else will just be frosting on the cake
performance is okay, it never dips down to the low 30s or anything, only a few random stutters but never constant
You get what you pay for
NMS devs can't afford good shills so likely these guys are hired off Fiverr or something like that
This is like reading those shitty amazon reviews where it's painfully obvious they're following a script and cramming in talking points with no regard for sounding natural.
starting money makers are usually shooting asteroids for gold and platinum
theres planets that can have rarer items in them, which can make you an easy 5 mil if you put an hour in collecting and selling
those rare planets tend to have extreme weather or something though so its risk vs reward
Unironically thinks shills visit this shitty board
what a happy merchant, I'm sure I can trust him completely.
man I wish I was a shill, so at least I had a dollar
I just enjoy a half decent space game
but you gotta admit, it looks very pretty
the best way to make money fast in the beginning is crafting
plants, mining, having multiple bases on different planets dedicated to a single resource
it may sound autistic (and it is) but it's also rewarding
latest update fucked up mouse aiming in the space ship, it just fels too floaty
hopefully its fixed tomorrow, its been getting updates constantly
adjust it in the settings dumbass
I dunno shills would never mention piracy and the very rare nms threads are vastly negative towards the game and always recommend to pirate first at any cost. For example i personally was interested in buying it but after trying the pirated copy (and with the pc i have) you'd have to threaten my life to get even $1. I don't event think they can afford shills in the first place. Didn't they almost go bankrupt or something?
fuck off shill cunt
Same mountain
its definitely broken, even at 100 sens the fucking ship struggles to turn
>wahhh I dont like it so you're not allowed to like it either
>had a dream of having a volcano base
this time ill do it, ill find a big mountain and start building!
Well they've likely got more money now, enough to at least hire some poos from Fiverr or like websites to read off a script and shill the game poorly wherever they can. Seen some of the reply chains in recent NMS threads here word for word on some other places I go to and always from new accounts that joined last month, so much of the posting as of late is definitely not organic.
as with all things it's good to have a healthy sense of skepticism but in NMS' case it's definitely 110% being shilled here.
its also ship-dependent, if you fly an unapgraded shitbox itll feel sluggish and not maneuverable
There are some cool formations out there
>Lumpy, randomly shaped rock
>Cool
Do resources on planets respawn? Like big veins etc.
Does the game gets worse performance wise when you build, dig etc? I remember in Subnautica everything remained altered so towards the end the game was running like absolute shit despite me having a machine that could launch rockets into orbit
digging doesnt lag at all, at some point you might run out of veins since theyre predetermined but thats why you explore new systems
they do respawn, (not really sure about veins) but the game actually encorauges you to explore new planets and systems.
I don't think lags depend on your action, the game sometimes still performs like shit even after 3 years
So you're telling me that there could be, somehow, somewhere, an autistic fuck that tries to dig his way through a planet? any chance on landing somewhere to find "Sean is a Faggot" carved on the surface?
I'm pretty sure there's a solid bedrock layer if you dig straight down on any planet
everything is possible with procedurally generated
autism
anyone on ps4 down to just explore planets n shit?
welcome to Yea Forums
id love to have a comfy Yea Forums squad to explore planets with but most of these kiddies here come here thinking it's edgelord central where you are supposed to go out and hate everything or be as contrarian as possible for upvotes
everyone complained when the planets were too realistic, so they dumbed down the generation algorithm to make like 1/4 of the planets dyed earth clones
female space aliens mod when
>implying rocks aren't lumpy and shaped randomly
try harder next time
i imagine artemis to be female and in heat
>being this paranoid
test
I've been playing this game for 3 days and so far it is pretty repetitive,
space ports are all the same
places to visit on every planet are the same
you ave to keep collecting the same stuff over and over
After a while i'm beginning to get tired of it, I will probably build a -Sky base-normal mode today and try the VR but then stop playing after that
Those clouds are the worst I've ever seen holy shit
make a base on both planets
directly opposite each other
???????????
no point to it, just do it
It's a kino experience, it looks great. But it's not a good game. It's just a janky basebuilder, imagine minecraft in space with major building restrictions and it plays 20x slower. Space is mostly pointless, just a way to get to different planets to mine.
But again, it looks really cool. The ships and atmospheres are worth seeing. I think most people would have fun with it for at least 10 hours. I don't regret buying it (got it on sale and got some entertainment from it), but I wouldn't say it's a good game.
>some autistic nerd won't let people talk about nms without saying its shills
i hate this, just like i hate doors and stairs in this game
>Try VR mode
>Loading screen is still the fucking stars zooming by
>Enter tutorial nauseous
>PC overheats and shuts down because of summer heatwave when I try to quit
Even my 2080TI can't hold reasonable frame rates when flying on planets.
I get a few dips when the planet is loading in, but it's smooth sailing afterwards. Not playing on ultra, just standard
i7-4790k
RTX 2060
In VR?
DXUN
are you retarded?
the classic windows screenshot has more depth and detail than this piece of shit game, let aloen that screenshot
fucking good
reminds me of this
Bliss is amazing
even after all these patches it's still nowhere near what they promised before launch
sorry, not buying it
>Shitty picture looks like another shitty picture
Bravo Sean
Fuck off with your disgusting feet Sean.
It's fucking garbage. I was going to the center of the galaxy when I got clipped inside of a space station I was leaving and then exploded. The game respawned me on a random planet and overwrote my save so I lost massive amounts of progress and items I spent a very long time making.
>no varying gravity for different planets
>claims to be space game
Into the trash it goes.
When the fuck "faster talking" mods gonna update, i dont have patience to see shitty beep boop dialogues over and over for 10 seconds each. Dont really want to play until then.
It's not really a space game. Space is like 10% of the focus, just a taxi to take you between planets.
>he bought NMS
>yfw this is still correct
youtube.com
It's not really a game.
