They put weird emphasis on certain syllables in some of the names. Like with Takamaki or Sakamoto they say Ta-KA-maki and Sa-KA-moto

I agree but mostly because I'm not American and find American accents obnoxiously nasal. That said the best solution is to not dub it at all. The second-best solution is to just get a single goddamn person who knows how to pronounce Japanese involved with the voice recording.
