So I played a few hours of Bloodborne. Why is this a 10/10 again?

because all other games are even worse

I wouldn't call it a 10/10.
It's just a fun, novel arpg with fast, combat-oriented pacing (compared to a Two Worlds or something) and tangible character progression.

There's just not a whole lot of competition out there.

stop dying to the tutorial wolf

You have the beat the first boss first.

because reddit said so

What’s a 10/10 to you?

it's very entertaining and it's got a great aesthetic

why is the last boss the only hard one in the (base) game?

yahrnam shadows are pretty hard the first time around

Tons of content. Do the chalice dungeons as you unlock them, they are meant to be played at level that you encounter them. Combat is very rewarding as you master it. online multiplayer is still active.

Its a watered-down Dark Souls spin-off, but since its only on PS4 Snoibois have to fellate it and pretend its the second coming of Christ

maybe tetris

>There's just not a whole lot of competition out there.
I think is a important core statement. Most of the competition is generally far worse designed, with conflicting design goals or lacking the polish needed to keep up with From Software Soulsgames.

Even of the clones, not that many is good. And even fewer has good level design.
Even something as great as Salt and Sanctuary relies on being a good platformer more than it do having good level design and production values.

>and tangible character progression.
Its piss-poor compared to Souls games though, it was a big step back in complexity in terms of character building and progression. Your build is basically just your weapon.

Copout basedboy answer

because it's on based PS4

A 10/10 is a game that pushes its intended mechanics, achieves everything it sets out to do and isn't marred by sloppy production.

So for action, you've got Ninja Gaiden Black, for RPGs, you've got Fallout, and for action RPGs, you've got a fat blank slot since they're inherently full of compromises.
Bloodborne is marred by the (as people have pointed out in the thread) rather sloppy RPG aspects, but I'd also add that enemy behaviours and patterns are too slapdash and crowd control is a joke. It's fairly frayed overall.
Still fun and worth playing.

niggers still seething

because it filters casuals

>Unforgiving games are more fun, OP! They're totally not a waste of time and you certainly won't be thinking of other things you could be doing!

> Your build is basically just your weapon.
That's all it boils down to in Demons Souls and Dark Souls too. Bloodborne just has better weapon variety, and therefore better build variety.

No, they have magic and much more varied weapons and equipment, more than six stats and every stat aside from shit like RES matters. BB has like 20 pairs of weapons the developers decided to make for you, every other game lets you use literally whatever you want, in any combination. BB has, by far, the least diversity and variety in its character-building, its not even close.

Bloodborne is very forgiving. All of the hard bosses are optional and the saw cleaver will carry anyone through the game.

>Your build is basically just your weapon.
Thats all the Souls games.
In Demon Souls you have a bit more honesty about it.
I.e Dagger worse than Secret Dagger.
Short Sword -> Long Sword / Broad Sword -> Knight Sword
Scimitar -> Falchion -> Kilij
Short Spear -> Winged Spear

On top of that, there is a bunch of unique gimmick weapons, and a bunch of super weapons. Most are viable because consecutive ners over several games in the series hasn't happened as a trend yet.
With Dark Souls, it gets muddier, because there is more stuff, and more gimmick weapons. With Dark Souls II there is even more gimmick weapons, and elemental weapons are worse. And repeat again for Dark Souls III.
In Bloodborne there is no gimmick weapons, merely gem slots and variety.

Because it's the best game of the Gen except maybe dmc5 now but I gotta get some dlc for that to be possible
Sucks you can't enjoy it man

If the game was complete/finished then it could have been 10/10.

Bloodborne is a great game. Its overpraised as fuck, but it is a great game even after filtering out the fanboys. It sucks that they didn't put nearly as much time and polish into the game/story like they did with the Dark Souls series, but I was genuinely happy with the faster pace dodge-focused gameplay of Bloodborne
