How do I git gud at this game
How do I git gud at this game
You play a better game
Looked it up on Youtube. It is one of the ugliest games I've ever seen. Whoever was in charge of the art design should apologise immediately.
>early access
I was optimistic when I saw the thumbnail user posted but god damn that was bad
look up the wiki, but that sucks all the fun out of it
learning from your mistakes, realizing you can fail as times as possible, and internalizing that "heroes" are just meat puppets that can be replaced is what makes the game entertaining.
also play on Radiant Mode. it makes the game less grindy
Are you fucking dense? The art design is the best thing about the game.
Failing over and over again is how you learn what works and what doesn't. Let your little warriors die. Accept death as a part of life.
It looks ridiculous user.
You may not like it but it has stylish comic vibe.
It's a really shitty game then
Iratus is cool but DD is better in every single way currently.
Caleb as the narrator is pretty great, though.
You think THIS looks better than DD? Oh Lord.
you're right, i don't like the shitty art style
Hi nerd commando.
It's okay to be tasteless.
You don't, it's garbage. DD is the equivalent of playing at a casino. You just keep rolling the dice until you eventually win. There isn't any skill involved.
What? No. I'm saying the opposite, user. Can you even read?
Using the tools you are given to their fullest is a skill, user.
Never played it or just dumb as rock?
lmao
Sounds like somebody picked his skills at random and pooped his pants in rage when he couldn't brute force his way though dungeons.
I take it you speak from experience.
looks like those shitty games in pop up ads
Learn to enjoy grinding. That's basically all that you have to do to win, just grind it out. Try not to see through the repetitive and boring formula at the core of it, that'll definitely ruin your enjoyment of the grind.
Yes. From dealing with plebs like you.
you must into logistics dont waste cash fixing shitty guys when you can just get new ones every day. antiquarians are free money then into the trash they go
lol what
This game was alot of fun for a few hours until I realized it literally just copy paste everything and was completely RNG based and then it got really boring and repetitive.
Looks like an elaborate flashgame
grave robber is CUTE
Antiquarian gets you loadsamoney. Having loadsamoney means you can splurge on gear upgrades and quirk tinkering, making your life way easier. Pair her up with a Highwayman or Man at Arms and combo their repost skills with her protect me skill. Make Antiquarian interact with all curios because she gets a bonus chance to find antiques which sell for a fair bit and stack really high. Even shit that doesnt even usually give loot like torches, and this is on top of her just passively increasing how much gold you can hold in a stack. Money makes the world go around, send her on a short run with her boyfriends or a medium one if your feeling ballsy and rake in that gold.
I've beatn all the apprentice bosses and have alot of level 3 heroes, I'm about to get the dlc and im wondering how much of a pain in the ass the Crimson Curse is going to be?
Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer
you can only start being infected by it once you do the opening quest, as long as you got a decent team together you can chip away at it, though once you start you gotta keep going back on and off until its done or the need for blood will break your hamlet.
On the other hand Flagellant is mad OP, like you cant go wrong with that guy outside of the ruins and he eats the courtyard for breakfast. The new trinkets and town districts help power you up too.
Yeah I agree. That's what put me off it.
Yeah its the districts im really interested in, and I like Heroes that are useful everywhere like the Hellion, I just don't wanna get fucked by the Fanatic for using my favorite Heroes
ya hes a real bastard. You'll know when hes in a dungeon once you start it, the odds for him appearing in one go up for every infected hero you bring plus the areas infection level. You can always bail out if you dont want to risk it
How does infection level work? All the wikis haven't been updated properly since the damn early access it seems
You are straight up not supposed to fight the Fanatic. It's possible beat him, but he's intended to force you to flee dungeons, not TPK every time.
theres just a banner next to each area that gets more bloody and covered with flies the longer you leave the courtyard unculled. The higher the rate of infection the more likely you will be to get courtyard enemies replacing local ones, and most can inflict the curse. Killing a courtyard boss clears all areas and removes the curse from all allies, but it slowly begins creeping out as time goes on. Once youv killed the last boss courtyard enemies become uncommon in all dungeons, but you can cure the curse just like any other disease at your leisure.
Four-leaf clovers and rabbit's feet
>those fucking stress levels
thanks for reminding me about my poor favorite paranoid plague doctor that died the exact same way
This game isn't hard at all, its just absurdly punishing.
You can perfectly play this game with an IQ of 80.
But even with perfect play, the game is still going to kick you in the teeth whenever you get a string of bad RNG.
Keep posting, I need more DD images
best one I got friend
Flagellant is not for lewd, he doesn't even understand what that is
Okay, I guess I can see that
What are the toughest bosses in your opinion? I think Countess takes the cake for most difficult
*whistles*
Why are they fighting over him?
Iv never killed that fucking bird. But if I had to choose one of the standard bosses I think I dread going back to the Hag the most. I know I can just bring a few extra healers and go all in on back line damage but she always gives me shit
dd was a great style, story, artwork and atmosphere coupled with a fucking dumb game system
i beat it but that's more of a case of "well gee, i got this far i might as well finish it" as opposed to "wow, i'm really having fun"
Because he's needed for their experiments, though Paracelsus may have different ideas about an "experiment." Getting romantically involved with a literal Leper isn't exactly a healthy choice.
Also because he's a precious boy getting bullied by the local religious folk.
Shrieker's tough as hell, but I have managed to once kill the nest, which gives you 4 tetrahedrons
I usually dont have a lot of issue with the hag, just bring a hellion and houndmaster, they'll wreck her shit
its really just the fact she takes one of your guys away from you, and the "right" thing to do is just let them boil alive while you bash her crooked teeth in. I always hate shit like that
Vestal a shit
Flagellant is 100% for lewd.
Penitent women of god > Heretic of the bleeding zero
Upgrade the stagecoach first. From there toss four soon-to-be corpses into the dungeon for the week; only buying supplies that can help you loot curios. Throw them against the horrors until they break and die, then retreat with the loot before the last worthless halfwit drops dead. Banish the last toothless indigent from the Hamlet; hire four more fools; don't spend a dime de-stressing the idiots or removing the afflictions they so richly deserve. Repeat until you have sufficient gold to begin in earnest with some handpicked 'heroes' with useful traits.
Then remind yourself. Constantly.
No
Not even Femgellant raping the Abomination in that one comic on the booru
I like it, feels like Monster Rancher meets Diablo 2 on a Call of Cthulu rpg/oldschool D&D roguelike basis. One of the few turn based games where I don't wring my hands and get stressed out and bored.
>Hellion ever taking interest in a man who would allow himself to be emasculated like that
never mind that BH would just grunt at her if she tried, and stab her in the neck if she succeeded
>it literally just copy paste everything
I think it just isn’t your kind of game. I love a game where you can and have to dive into systems to find the subtle differences that can tip the scales in your favor when played around. Like the breaking points for when you can still effectively bleed fishmen or exploiting a pattern on a boss to lower its move resist enough to get it out of position to give you a huge advantage.
He is super duper lewd, though.
It`s a lotta luck, so you basically just mitigate the chance of luck screwing you, so go for definite heals with the religious lady, definite hits so avoid leper, and do not be afraid to leave dungeons early. Buy a lot of food and torches, i usually do 2 stacks of each depending on the mission length. Kill stressors first, like the crazy guy in the straitjacket and the fucking cup skeletons, also fuck wild dogs with that bleed. Learn what makes curios work right, like keys and shovels and shit. remember, overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer
Audrey takes advantage of Dismas when he is in a weak emotional state and/or intoxicated
>Vestal
>Offers nothing other than healing and a stun
>Occultist
>Huge damage against eldritch, both front and backrow
>Can heal
>Can mark
>Can pull
>Can stun
>Good debuff
>eyes
Divine Comfort alone is worth more than the Occultist.
I've played DD before and beaten a couple of bosses but stopped, now I bought all the DLC and want to do a full playthrough
should I use crimson court? I see people always recommending to go without it for a first playthrough but it's not like I am totally unexperienced
If you're a scrub sure
For me, it’s pounder.
Because of course your high accuracy marksman is going to hit the fusilier every round. Of course it’s going to do enough damage to kill it in one hit so your other members can keep up damaging the cannon and mobs. Of course you’re not going to get shuffled for some reason and throw off your second rank emergency valve that can finish off the fusilier if the marksman doesn’t.
Of course.
I mean, if you didn’t, your whole team takes 60 damage at once unmitigatable, but of course that won’t happen.
...unless?
I wish I had gotten into this game back when all these images were made
DD2: Road Trip soon
Fuck Hag
so like darkest dungeon
Ancestor already did that, before she became too fugly, even for him
Vestal
>Reliable healing
>Reliable group healing
>Able to attack and self heal at the same time
>Stunning as always good and doing it from the back is better
>Can transition into the profane Vestal to free up your back line, while now offering a more powerful group heal on top of self buffs, removal of stealth and dodge, and a mountain of dead unholy abominations
Occultist
>highly inconsistent single target heal which while potentially powerful has a very real chance to waste a turn if not completely fuck you over
>niche as the only viable healer for marking teams
>if you put his squishy ass on the front lines all you get is a stun and a dead occultist
I fear that change, it might end up a bad idea like it did for Pillars of Eternity 2. I like castle locations over nomadic stuff
CC adds a handful of mechanics into the mix that make things a lot trickier to learn when you're just starting out. If you already have the hang of the base game, figuring out how the new stuff fits in with what you already know shouldn't be too hard.
Hey man, not him, but Sicko Mode front line occultist builds are the tits
100% crits on eldritch effectively makes him a pseudo stress healer
I just want to point out that Flagman makes for an excellent healer and stress healer once built properly.
This is why Dismas starts with Known Cheat
>playing with a known cheat
God damn Audrey is fucking hot as hell
Great sketch overall too, I love group shots of the DD lads and lasses in their down time
Manually backup and restore your save files
Flagellant was S+/OP tier on release, he got hit with nerfs but his overall kit is still overloaded and very strong
Best girl.
i want smut between her and Omen Seeker
Audrey mainly gets her kicks seducing and bullying Dismas, though has an arrangement with Paracelsus
I know but not a lot of people know his healing potential, they always focused on his damage.
What boss gives you the most anxiety?
Hag > Prophet >>>>> Siren > Drowned Crew > Brigand Cannon > Necromancer > Swine King > Formless Flesh
>enter first crimson court quest
>quest is easy difficulty, should be quick
>I was never more wrong in my life
>a big crocodile nigger basically one shot all my heroes and it was impossible to heal the damage
>lost all my best trinkets too
Fuck this game
The collector by far
Sounds right to me. I also bet she’s made a teasing sarcastic pass at Junia thinking it obviously has no chance because she thinks she’s a prude, meanwhile Junia writing an elaborate sexual fantasy between the two of them in her salacious diary.
even worse
You're supposed to to the CC dungeons in stages. You don't finish them all in one go.
>the tribal is actually a coward trying to make up for her fuckup
that's actually a better twist than I expected, god this game has good writing
The first croc is truly the niggliest of niggers because you are forced to face it with under level 3 heroes and facing it blind is actually fucking terrible
It was an effective ‘we’re not fucking around’ encounter for those of us who had already played the game for a long time by the time the dlc came out and had completed estates, but now it’s just annoying at best on new runs
This game lowkey got some great yuri fanart
damn I really miss dd threads
Based flag just havin a blast at the end of the world
Can I get this at a readable resolution?
the threads are about a quarter of the reason Im excited for DD2. Got some solid gold content and the fact that DD1 makes people mad to this day means its the gift that keeps on giving
Vestals, occultists go heal trinkets, always bring two heals
Everyone else go damage
Learn what heros are good for each zone and each boss
Play it like poker, sometimes you gotta take risks to win big, sometimes you gotta fold
ALWAYS HAVE A PLAN
I'm 200% brainlet yet I beat it on bloodmoon losing only 5 guys, if you think the game is all RNG, you've failed to grasp how simple it really is, good luck
I now have the inspiration I need to make more DD snippets.
>"Hey Dismas, guess what I found?"
>"A cure for your kleptomania?"
>"No, they refused treatment and declared me a lost cause. It's Junia's diary!"
>"Really? That little book she's constantly scribbling in? How'd you find it?"
>"I suspected her of stealing my versebook, so I took it upon myself to investigate her quarters. Turns out I misplaced it in the outhouse, but still found this."
>"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's read the thing!"
>"Might as well start on the most recent page. 'My mind continues to betray my body with every passing day. The vicious sin of Lust, constantly whispering in my ear, has only increased in ferocity ever since the most recent excursion in those foul Warrens. That heretical Hellion, Boudica, seeing her scream barbarically, massacre legions of the unholy swine, the blood soaking her tight furs against her muscular body, her legs in which my sin demands I bury my face and restrain my head, is...'"
>"..."
>"..."
>"...You know Reynauld, I'm not too keen on reading the rest of this."
>"You aren't?"
>"Not without everybody else present, at least. Start at the beginning, I bet you anything we're in there."
That’s like saying there is no skill in Texas Hold Em Poker because of the random element
I bet Dismas would tell Bigby something like how he’d rather be ‘born evil’ and choose good than born good and choose evil.
The suicidal sadboi fuck.
Kek. I like it user, did you do more of these in the past?
What updates or expansions to the stress and sanity system would you like to see in DD 2?
you can't post this without the other one
Believe it or not, when /dadg/ was still around, I did a load based on the different districts.
Most are long enough that they hit the character limit, but someone did throw together a pastebin back in the day.
pastebin.com
It doesn't contain the ones for the Granary, Bank, Puppet Theater, Cartographer's Camp, and the CoM Districts, but I can post those bit by bit, if you want.
>The stress symbol inscribed in the tree over her head
I fucking love such details
I would like to see a potential reward to going insane on purpose, beyond Virtues. In the Call or Cthulu rpg a character needs to sacrifice SAN points to become better at magic or have more knowledge of the enemy.
The Siren, though not for rational reasons. My very first go at her I brought the Abomination and she nabbed him her first turn after he transformed. I got my ass handed to me that fight.
After seeing your post I had to see for myself, and yep, that is one ugly game
Which character comic is your favorite?
>A powerful blow!
>Executed with impunity!
Dog Boy, probably. Been awhile since I read them all. Man-at-Arms was good for the 'nam vibes.
>BACK TO THE PIT
>prevents nighttime ambush
>E3 has come and gone
>Gamescom has come and gone
>Still no news on Darkest Dungeon2
>Damn, I missed your eyes!
Plauge Doctor, Bounty Hunter, or Highwayman
I'm not even a graverobber fan per se, though she's alright. I just love this style of art.
>great is the weapon that cuts on its own
I don't put a lot of stock in big events when it comes to indie announcements, personally. We'll get news when there's something they feel good showing us.
>A reflex...I didn't mean to...
Nips notwithstanding, this is some damn good art.
>go to their site to check for news
>they put a job posting out on the 12th
>also apparently there is a DD physical artbook which I didnt know I fucking need
>theres also a diorama set which looks neat but I dont really need it
>but the diorama set is 50% off when you get the book
aaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>run exclusively 2-4 antiquarians till you can afford bank
>run exclusively 2-4 antiquarians till you have about 1'000'000 gold
>never run out of gold after that
>ez gam
I believe all you need is like 100,000g to make the bank generate more income than you'll ever spend per trip.
I hate how the dlcs are basically required to have to somewhat mitigate the nerfs to heroes. Why the fuck did they make certain skills have limited uses? And why did they absolutely destroy jester? I have to basically relearn the whole game
>tfw you will never have a friendship like Reynauld and Dismas
Why live?
Antiquarian is the best class, anyone who disagrees is a poorfag
I want to hold hands with Bounty Hunter and support him in all his endeavors!!!!
Getting one to level 6 for the achievement was such a chore though.
This image always drive home how awful going on those escapades must. Somehting about how diligently the Crusader peers around the corner on watch whilst everyone seems so tired a
during their respite.
same
This exists by the way
The Crusader's one becomes so much better when you've heard him say in despair, "Why did I trade her for this life? She loved me..."
sadboi extraordinaire
The Audrey one is the best
I got her to level 6 by hapinstance cause even on hard dungeons shes decent with repost/protect me spam when your going for those big bucks
>all the stupid gay shit ITT
take it back to the warrens where you found it
>Hey Dismas, want to forget about the traumatic events in your past and have lots of unprotected, drunken sex with me?
>Begone, fiend!
> frederick guess what we came into the wrong dungeon today
user...
Get lucky
Is this game playable? I heard people couldn't get very far cus it was crazy brutal difficulty wise and you had to grind hours and hours even early in the game
best lesbians
I love DD to death but I can't get over how vital the Vestel feels. Almost every battle I have one with me and she feels irreplaceable cus the Occultist is not a good replacement. Was I just shit at the game cus I can't imagine going through a dungeon with only food as healing?
Post mods
What pisses me off is that 80% of the items are worthless trash that don't even compete with an empty slot
I also hate that the devs have a boner for nerfing characters for no reason while leaving the strong ones untouched
Spare the others. I am ready.
>That sickening prose, echoing though space and time!
Rain in the forest.
It's luck based.
I WANT TO FUCK THE PLAGUE DOCTOR
The most important part of the game IMO is resource management. You have to know where to spend your gold / busts / ect. to get maximum value. If you fuck this up it will be impossible to finish the game in the time limit of the higher difficulties.
First, learn dungeon affinity. If you've brought Crusader to Warrens or Weld, you've (probably) fucked up. If you've brought anyone that relies on bleed to Cove, you've fucked up. Certain party comps are best for certain dungeons. Each dungeon has a quirk (Ruins is full of unholy that have bleed resist, Cove is full of bleed resist, Warrens have poison resist, Weld has lots of tanks that cover for range poison enemies; and that's just the basics) and those quirks are not fucking hard to learn. And most importantly, those quirks never change - they just double down. Rank 1 and 2 Weld has some kinda tanky enemies, but at Rank 3 and above you REALLY notice the tanky-ness and it's here where your supposedly invincible "The Wall" party is going to die horribly.
Second, just about every class has multiple "modes". Crusader isn't just dumb offense, he's also got a pretty good stress heal move. And Holy Lance? More like Holy Shit. So the dumb newbie is going to think Crusader is only good in Rank 1 or 2, with Holy Lance as the "get back to Rank 1" move; but an experienced player knows that Crusader can easily just stress heal from Rank 3 and Holy Lance when necessary. Pretty much all of the classes are designed to be usable in any rank, even the fucking Arbalist. Bitch don't need to aim or be in Rank 4. She's a tank, she has blindfire, and blindfire increases her speed. She also has bretty good heals.
Third, unless you're playing on Stygian (which you as a newfag shouldn't be), there is no time limit whatsoever. If you need cash, make a cash run with an Antiquarian. Oh, what's that? Antiquarians suck? Get Down and Invigorating Vapors turn the whole party into dodge tanks. And she heals too. And the more Antiquarians in the party, the more loot you can carry. Antiques Roadshow is basically a raiding party that steals everything not nailed down.
Got all that? Good. Now go make us whole again.
PLAGUE DOCTOR IS CUTE
CUTE
PLAGUE DOCTOR IS FILTHY
FILTHY
It's more risk management than resource management. That's why morons like call it RNG based, because they don't understand that all of the RNG is presented right in front of them and they have NUMEROUS tools at their disposal to alter those base variables.
Junia's Head + Ancestor's Scroll makes occultist be able to heal huge amounts of damage to single targets. Most of the difficulty of the end game of DD (CC or CoM) comes from stress damage generally and high target damage. I'd actually argue that most deaths are the result of huge crits on single characters and resulting regular damage that outstrips vestals ability to heal it.
Filthily fine.
Reminder based Shindol did a character art mod for this.
I want to brush her hair and get upset when the comb gets stuck in her wild tangled sex hair and then have her sit on my face for hours.
it's shit
>looks at a random mosquito
>looks back at thread
dont do it user. beat the game first
It almost looks cool but its just not good for some reason I can't figure out
>intimidated by a mosquito
That's not even the fucking worst CC has to offer.
This game needs a rank 1 healer to really open the possibilities for for team comps.
>trigger a trap with no possible way of IDing it
>HURR REMIND YOURSELF SUCH MISSTEPS ARE THE EXCEPTION
I hate when this game pretends it's not about luck.
This piece of shit shows up in CoM even if you don't own/enable CC
Why'd they make her portrait so damn ugly?
Humanity is an ugly thing, user.
>came from beyond time, space, and a DLC paywall
That's Lovecraft for you.
Filthy Braphog
flagellant can be a rank 1 healer
not a good one, but it's an option
Still waiting for asanagi to do one
There's no such thing as a bad healer, in my opinion.
trust me i know. the baron and fanatic arent exactly friendly either but those damn mosquitos are everywhere and they fuck up your crew without any lube
Is the Crusader's stun better than his stress heal?
Embrace your stress and use it
you're not wrong, but if you get behind with a flagellant as your main healer you're pretty fucked unless you're able to stall
that being said, with the right comp it can be strong as hell
user, you might be retarded. It's stupid easy to scout traps and avoid triggering them. If you paid even the slightest bit of attention to non combat skills you'd be able to figure it out.
>Manservants guarding mosquitos
>Chevalier's spamming backrow attacks
Really, Courtyard is the worst place ever and Red Hook went way too far. Of course, Darkest Dungeon 2 is apparently going to be based more on Crimson Court than anything else so...
I guess when 2 comes out, we'll all realize how merciful the Courtyard was to us.
feels like a ripoff chinese mobile game, DD is still leagues better
It's nice to see stress on the womanvs blood and on the final panel. The little details make it.
Crusader flat out shouldn't be on stun duty after Rank 1. That's the Abomination, Man-At-Arms, and Bounty Hunter's job. Furthermore, Crusader outside of Ruins is a very questionable choice. Don't get me wrong, Reynauld is best boy, but Crusader was really designed to attack unholy enemies and if he's not doing that, then he better be on healer-tank duty otherwise he's just not being used effectively. If you have no other option for offense, it's understandable, but Crusader is a crutch for newfags and you should be considering other classes if you're going into the dungeons without unholy.
Yeah, I only use him in The Bone Zone.
lol this game looks like soulless mobile trash
The game's difficulty is information based rather than RNG based. The more you know, the easier it becomes.
was the color of madness dlc any good?
Crusader didn't show up in the trailer for 2, did he?
He's canonically dead
It's nowhere near DD. It's pretty much an awful knockoff. Fucking retarded indie devs have to follow the AAA route of copying what's popular or an established franchise.
The amount of Terraria clones and wannabes with shit gameplay on Steam alone.
HOW DO YOU WANT YOUR POPUP ADS, GAMERS?
Looks like a Newgrounds™ flash game.
Hey, that's an insult to Newgrounds flash games.
>horde mode
>new enemies are blight resist and bleed weak
Eh, it's okay. Not as good as CC, but it definitely rounds out the whole game nicely.
That would be confusing since the least useful character is probably Leper. Yes, his design and story is awesome but his usefulness to a team not so much.
Can we talk about how weirdly awesome this song is and how it only plays in exactly 2 places (Vvolf fight and Corvid)?
youtube.com
Leper is straight up damage dealer tank. He's what most people THINK the Crusader is.
>dd2 is epic exclusive
fucking dropped
Don't remind me.
Should I turn off CC for a full playthrough? I really don't like that Crimson Curse.
kk. thnx user
Sure, but since someone had to die, and this is a direct continuation of the story from 1, they're not going to handwave it or lessen the blow by making it someone who wasn't one of the "main" characters. It was either going to be Reynaud or Dismas, and we saw a highwayman in the trailer
...no shit, source?
source?
Unrelated but are there "canon" names for any of the other heroes?
I couldn't find shit, he's lying.
And you just know some brainlets on here will believe him without question.
I'm doing it!
Rec me good mods to spice it up. New classes and enemies would be nice. Overhauls not really, unless it's amazing.
I've installed Marvin Seo's new classes and they are pretty dope. Also the hentai waifu classes from the other guy, the fawn, offering and the such. Some are nice mechanically, but ruin the immersion, so I'll probably dump them.
Yeah you've convinced me, risk management is super important in this game.
I started my first playthrough not too long ago and was really enjoying it. I got to the part where Bandits attack the Hamlet and you can send a team to kill the leader. I sent Reynauld, Dismas, Plague Doctor, Vestal. The very first 4 heroes I got at the start of the game, all max level too.
I spent too much time exploring the map and collecting loot instead of just pushing straight toward the boss. Wasted a lot of resources and HP. We got absolutely fucked and I retreated before anyone died. Then after we escaped the battle and I tried to flee the area completely and return to the Hamlet, it said one hero must stay behind to fend off the horde for the rest of the team to retreat. I agreed, assuming it would let me choose which hero to sacrifice. But I guess it randomly decides.
Reynauld fucking died saving everyone’s ass. He was my absolute favorite hero too. I guess it’s kind of poetic that he be the one to sacrifice himself, but fuck me, I was so depressed because of that. Haven’t played the game since.
After seeing this thread though, I’m thinking about getting back into it. Plus, there is always the rare chance he comes back from the grave in that town event.
I don't care what anyone says, Musketeer was easily one of my favorite units and she kicked a lot of ass. Sure it required investment, but popping shit like balloons was unbelievably satisfying. Arbalest a shit though.
Not even close, h-ha ha
Triumphant pride precipitates a dizzying fall
If you start the game in launch options with -startnewgameplus you start with every hero unlocked and on the roster (not sure if it still works but it was probably a dev/beta test option at some point). The names on that file are:
Crusader - Reynauld
Highwayman - Dismas
Vestal - Junia
Man-at-arms - Barristan
Plague Doctor - Paracelsus
Bounty Hunter - Tardif
Houndmaster - William
Abomination - Bigby
Antiquarian - Katherine
Occultist - Alhazred
Leper - Baldwin
Arbalest - Missandei
Flagellant - Damian
Shieldbreaker - Amani
Grave Robber - Audrey
Hellion - Boudicca
Jester - Sarmenti
These names are all references to other characters in other media,
Formless Flesh is my favorite boss simply because of how interesting the concept behind him is, but he's by far the easiest.
If the bandit event triggers and you don't want to a) lose buildings and b) can't take it on because you aren't ready you can send a team of new recruits to it and have them immediately leave (one will die). I think on the lowest difficulty setting if you send one hero and retreat it won't even kill them.
Weird, because that thing was the closest I got to completely wiping, granted, my comp was weird for it but compared to most of the other bosses I had a hard time. Necromancer got fucking obliterated.
I thought the jester's canon name was Jingles. Did they change it?
>Implying the Leper in the trailer isn't the Spartan who saved literally everyone by cleaving the world in two.
I think CC changed it from Jingles to Sarmenti (the latin word for jester)
You have to see your lads as resources to spend rather than people.
She is also my favorite. Just kind of sucks that she is an Arbalest reskin.
Damian: Peter Damian "founded" the art of flagellation (en.wikipedia.org
Boudica: Celtic queen and british folk hero that fought the romans (en.wikipedia.org
Baldwin: The Leper King (Baldwin IV of Jerusalem)
Alhazred: "The Mad Arab" (Lovecraft Abdul Alhazred )
Junia: High imperial vestal under Tiberius
Paracelsus: "Father of Toxicology" (en.wikipedia.org
Funny how Necro went from piss easy to buttfucking hard when the sword bones got stealth and doot shows up too
