>What are you enjoying on your Switch?
Currently Spectating in Smash
>You have that backlog cleared for Astral Chain on Friday right?
Lol no. Last game I beat was Super Mario Land a couple months back. I’m going to try and beat Astral Chain in one play through instead of losing focus 30% in and putting it down like the last 100 games I’ve bought though. Wish me luck.
Skyrim and Stardew Valley like usual. Also my backlog is never cleared.
Enjoying:
>Sonic Ages
>Patobox
>Last Remnant
>Deltarune
>You have that backlog cleared for Astral Chain on Friday right?
Are you talking about Switch games? Because i have like 70 games on PC/PS4 to beat yet
i'm waiting for Astral Chain
>You have that backlog cleared for Astral Chain on Friday right?
I'm scrambling to finish Bayo 2 even though I bought the game a year ago. And I have Octopath waiting for me for months as well. I've given up 100% everything else, definitely not in time for Astral Chain though. I might hold off on buying it on release.
>What are you enjoying on your Switch?
Working through 3H
>You have that backlog cleared for Astral Chain on Friday right?
Not even close.
>Bought a Switch, promising myself I'd beat each game before getting another
>Started well with 100% Mario Odyssey first of all
>Now have about 10 gams in back log, unopened or unfinished
FUCK
Based
on the last chapter of my first in three houses, gonna play astral chain>DQ>then maybe do a second route idk, what else is coming out next month?
What wiuld be considered “completing” smash ultimate?
You're playing Blue Lions, right user?
World of Light and all characters unlocked imo
>Still no Astral Chain Leak
>So hyped and excited I can't focus on playing anything else
>Keep refreshing sites every 30mins~1hr
I'm...tired...
reviews came out, you can find infos there if you're so desperate user
Sleep, user, it's important
> losing focus 30% in and putting it down like the last 100 games I’ve bought though
Fuck. Literally me.
All characters unlocked, World of Light completed, all challenges completed, and all spirits obtained and max level.
I don't want info. I want the nsp/xci.
Every spirit leveled to 99, every character maxing out classic mode difficulty without using tickets, multi-man melees all at 100% with every character, elite smash with everyone.
So excited for 2020!
I can't play Astral Chain because my grandma died and the funeral is this weekend...
Sorry for your loss, user.
Portable console, user
>tfw wanna play Astral Chain but I’m broke as fuck
Post email
Playing VC1. Still on the fence about Astral Chain. Super hype for Luigi Mansion 3, No More Heroes III and the RE5/6 ports
>Ninja Saviors delayed in the west
>importing a physical copy is around $52
>it's 3024 jpy on the eshop even if I wanted to get it now, making cards a hassle
Being a physical fag is suffering.
Why won't Capcom put the RE engine on Switch bros
Just waiting.
Just hacked the Switch and playing Mario 64 alongside FE3H. Shit's nice.
>Got Astral Chain for $37 thanks to voucher and eshop card deals
Fuckin saved over $40 with this shit.
Been playing megaman x legacy collection 2.
I loaded up on vouchers with those deals. Got my average cost down to $40
We might be waiting a while Traivsbro. I know Suda said it was 50% done at Gamescom, but he also said it was only 25% done in a Famitsu article at the beginning of August.
I'm willing to bet it could with a bit of work. Capcom had input on the hardware. They just thought it was going to flop and are behind the curve. I unironically think we'll see more Capcom ports towards the end of the Switch's life cycle
Info isn't playing the game retard
I've been playing the ace attorney trilogy, mario kart and RE: revelations!
can anybody post a pic of the controls? wondering if I should pick this up, wait for sept (spyro, link's awakening, river city girls) or just buy MUA3
also ive been playing smash bros, third playthrough of oddessey, and kero blaster
*misses quick time event*
That pic is nice, but wouldn't 2B be literally genuflecting in front of a 100% real human bean?
Yep, just finished the few games I still had on the go on the weekend. Looking forward to Astral Chain.
>elite smash with everyone
arduous task
>What are you enjoying on your Switch?
Dark Souls for 650+ hours
Making a SL15/WL5 invader with the obsidian GS, Artorias is being a faggot and is the last real roadblock to my finished build
Wish I could get into Dark Souls on Switch. Have 300 hours in PTDE on PC, and then another 100 in the Remaster, Dark Souls Switch should be the ideal version of it since it has the quality of life / bugfixes of the Remaster, but doesnt have the shittier new visuals or the physics problems caused by 60fps, but the fucking sound quality throws me off so much. I get they wanted it to fit on the smaller, cheaper switch cart, but couldnt they have at least made the uncompressed audio free DLC?
I'm playing the DQXIS:EoaA demo and I hope to god the combat gets more interesting later on because sitting there watching the CPU select Attack four times every fight is not engaging.
Someone give me Astral Chain, i'm too poor
cool skin, but you should have cleaned off your screen before putting the screen protector on
check your pm’s :)
I'd rather it be 60fps, I played 600+ hours on PTDE at 60fps and the only bug I encountered was the one that sends you through the floor when sliding down ladders, and even then only on a couple specific ones.
But this faggot Artorias is being an asshole, I'm doing like 69 damage a swing to him. Shoe-horning DS3's weapon level nonsense is easily the biggest flaw the game has, I refunded the remaster on Steam for that reason and some random stuttering that isn't present on the PTDE.
>What are you enjoying on your Switch?
Crash Team Racing
>You have that backlog cleared for Astral Chain on Friday right?
Nope. I'm sure I'll get Astral Chain at some point, but I'm terrible at clearing my backlog
Still playing Smash. Since release, I've been playing mostly quickplay but now I do arenas, a lot more options and a lot more fun, especially rematching with different characters again. No idea why they took that out from Wii U quickplay.
Anyway, debating Astral Chain. I'm not a big Platinum fan. I love DMC but don't like Bayonetta. I did love MGR though so you never know.
>You have that backlog cleared
Nope. I miss being NEET sometimes, I could play vidya all day.
If you want it to be more engaging don't use auto tactics, and play on draconian harder monsters. It pretty much makes you use buffs and debuffs to survive, random encounters can get party members killed but it never feels unfair or grindy. And since skill points are limited early on it can be better to reset skills and reassign for specific bosses. Mid-game gets easier once you have more skills though.
I won't be done with Three Houses in time for the actual launch of Astral Chain, but my friend is getting it for me as a birthday gift next month, so that time window is a lot more doable.
>What are you enjoying on your Switch?
Just been playing more Hyrule Warriors, game's fun as fuck.
>You have that backlog cleared for Astral Chain on Friday right?
Kinda, I have all my physical switch games beat, it's only a few eShop games I haven't beat, not sure if I'm gonna get Astral Chain day one but a few days after at most I reckon. I've been holding off on getting Space Harrier cause of Astral Chain as well.
You can still get back on track user, just ignore those ten for now and make sure you do it with all new releases and just work on getting that ten down to zero between new stuff.
World of Light beaten if you just mean beating the game, Classic mode and 100-man etc. with every chracter, all spirits, and all challenges for 100%.
What do you think of it user? I know the general opinion isn't very high but I fucking love the first four games so against my better judgement I kinda want to play X5-X8
I liked them and if the games are too hard you can turn rookie mode on and off on the fly to practice with. The X8 port is definitely based on the superior pc one but updated with better resolutions and filtering. You get to pick locales of the games also. Some stuff is changed like opening videos of some regions but it's definitely worth it. X Challenge is also fun. It's new content not in any other megaman game really.
>dropped Astral Chain because I hate anime inspired games and I really hate games that shove cutscenes into the combat
>Daemon X Machina is looking to be disappointing since they STILL haven't fixed the FPS issues
>still no news on Metroid Prime 4
>Smash continues to be a horrifically unbalanced, and every time I try and start up discussion, people just opt to spam porn instead
>haven't touched splatoon in years, bored the hell out of me and the octo expansion was genuinely some of the worst content I've ever played
>wanted to play some hollow knight on the go, but my joycons broke, so I have to send them in AGAIN
>heard good things about fire emblem three houses, tried to see what the fuss was about, was disappointed by waifus and cutscenes everywhere with terrible gameplay
>friend recommended me Yoshi's Crafted World, surprise surprise zero challenge
I'm gonna be frank, I just don't see the hype anymore. I enjoy my video games on my PC, but I don't know why the Switch has lost its luster.
I just want Rune Factory 4 Special, Bros. When?
>tfw want a Switch lite because since I got a PC i dont play docked anymore and the smaller form factor for the Switch is nice
>tfw all the colors are shit
I'd buy a solid black or white one instantly. Yellow is the only color I kinda like but the bezel looks like shit on the yellow
I'm gonna be frank, armored core fucking sucks.
>octo expansion was genuinely some of the worst content I've ever played
shit taste desu. octo is 10/10
At least it's better than fucking Terraria.
Do you even like games? Jesus christ.
What kind of games DO you like?
Atelier Lulua for comfy fun story I need I know it’s not the best of Ateliers but I’m having fun
Yeah I've played the first X collection so I know the kinda extras it has, I'm honestly curious so I'll probably get it on sale since they're not totally unliked, always nice to see people have fun with things anyway.
Man I keep forgetting about RF5 when thinking of stuff I'm looking forward to, this is gonna rule so hard.
what DO you like? you better not fucking say battle royales/mobas
Don't give ACfag (You)s.
Patiently waiting for a good Metroid game on switch
Just started Slay the Spire and I'm realizing why I suckk at card games
Silly tripfag, astral chain is for weeaboos. smash is full of fags, yoshi is easy as shit.
Been playing a lot of Death Road to Canada. It's a goofy game and it makes me happy. Thank you for reminding me to free up space.
Soon, friend
For Slay the Spire, remember that aiming for slimmer decks with a single central gimmick/win condition and only cards that support it is usually better than filling your deck with shit or half a dozen different synergies. It's not for nothing that card removals increases in price every time you do it, because being able to thin your deck up/removing basic strike and defends to focus on a single synergy is actually OP as hell.
How's Dark Souls and Doom 4 on the Switch?
Okami HD
Dark Souls has terrible audio compression
DOOM runs surprisingly well
Dark souls is almost ideal, but they compressed the audio to fit on the cheaper switch cartridge size so it sounds noticeably worse. The other issue is that confirm is mapped to B and unlike every other button they gray that one out so you can't remap it.
If you can get past this two annoyances it's a pretty good port. You definitely aren't really missing out on any huge part of the Dark Souls experience
Where is the leak?
Doom is playable docked, except maybe arcade mode on several maps, didn't have the screen-tearing I constantly saw in the PS4 version. Gyro controls are so much fucking better, damn shame no other console tries to push them.
Be warned Doom will take a shitload of space even with a cartridge because they treated multiplayer like an update.
>Haven't thought about the leak in 3 hours
>See this post and check
>Nothing
That bit of peace was nice...
what leak
I'll take this advice to heart, user, thanks
>The other issue is that confirm is mapped to B and unlike every other button they gray that one out so you can't remap it.
Well it keeps the same button layout it has on every other platform, I honestly would have found it a lot more jarring for them to swap A/B and X/Y. Bottom button is confirm/select, right is roll/run and cancel, left is items, top is swap/two-hand like it is on every other platform.
Should I get FE? New to it
>You have that backlog cleared for Astral Chain on Friday right?
haha, no.. Haven't even finished doing one route in Three Houses..
Persona 5
No
X challenge in 2 is a different set of bosses as well. I thought the physical came with both?
Would I be missing out if I played the Splatoon DLC entirely offline?
My switch arrives tomorrow and I already got astral chain preordered. Can't wait dudes.
Normally I wish you would drop dead but I actually agree with you for once.
Fuck.
Dude your screen protector is fucked, redo that shit.
>mm2
>smash
im waiting on some new singleplayer game like astral chain. dont have any bux for it though
No physical in Europe sadly, didn't want to both pay import costs and probably need to make an NA eShop account to redeem the 2nd one as much as I like physical copies.
Ah, a shame. At least you have ZX legacy to look forward to.
How many games you guys own?
youtu.be
Oh yeah I'm fucking happy about that one. I've played a bit of ZX but never got very far and the Zero collection is a bit pricey last time I checked, and I love the shit out of Inti so I'm gonna have a lot of fun with that one.
10 'full' switch games, 14 eShop ones.
I was fortunate to have bought all the games on the gba so I didn't need the ds collection. That said I'll be picking this up for the z chaser and casual modes. Even though I beat the hell out of the original games it isn't bad for me to go through them all in order again with the optional assists. I just like seeing new content brought to older games I liked.
I'm nearing the end of my second playthrough of Three Houses and thank god because i'm nearing 100 hours in. I'll pick up Astral Chain the first chance I get after I finishing moving in to my new dorm. I'm also gonna pick up Creature in the Well and Hotline Miami Collection. Hopefully Creature doesn't turn out good so I can save a little money. I was gonna get Ori when it comes out but that 2 months of Gamepass for 2 bucks really saved me there.
>don't want to start oninaki because I know I'll dump it for Astral Chain as soon as it leaks
why the fuck hasn't it leaked yet
Let's see:
>Xenoblade 2 (plus Torna if that counts)
>Splatoon 2
>Smash Ultimate
>Tales of Vesperia
>Ys VIII
>Slay the Spire
>Hollow Knight
>Steamworld Dig 2
>Golf Story
>Yoku's Island Express
I also preordered Astral Chain and Daemon X Machina. Now that I look at it, my Switch is basically a JRPG/Indie machine.
>I just like seeing new content brought to older games I liked.
Yeah that's always nice.
>Breath of the Wild
>Pooper Mario Odyssey
>Splatoon 2
>Smash Bruddas
>Bastion
>Furi
>Shovel Knight
>Hollow Knight
>Undertale
>Stardew Valley
>Resident Evil 4
>Bayonetta 1+2
>Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
>Fire Emblem Three Houses
I also own most of the indies on either my laptop or PS4 but I like being able to play them on the road with the Switch

I feel like im gonna bite the bullet and get the switch revision. My switch has a pretty loud fan whenever i play intensive games like Odyssey or DQ 11 demo. With games like minecraft or games like that the fan is silent. Feelsbad
Two but I haven't bought a switch yet.
Of course my backlog isn't cleared but I'm still gonna get my Chain on.
Need to finish my GD run in 3H though.
Jesus, then Iceborne is the next weekend and DXM the weekend after that
What the fuck
4,
BotW physical
Mariokart 8, Odyssey and XBC2 digital
The rest I pirated.
Wouldn't astral chain be like a 10 hour game?
enjoying:
three houses
dragon quest builders 2
my time portia
cuphead
hollow knight
katamari damacy reroll
child of light
cleared back log for astral chain:
kek not a chance but still waiting to hear from others about it until I shill out 60 eagle coins for it
Replay value adds a lot more than 10 hours for me.
Though looking at modern games the average time to beat a story is 3 hour hallway sim campaigns.
just ran out of space on my 128 GB
>What are you enjoying on your Switch?
BotW, Odyssey, Mario Kart, Crash trilogy, CTR remake. I'm taking ideas for games to pick up as well (specifically the indie games most people can agree on).
>You have that backlog cleared for Astral Chain on Friday right?
No, I still want to play Bayo 1+2 first.
Most reviews seem to say it's 15-20 hours, with harder difficulty modes unlocking after you've cleared it once, so the usual Platinum fare.
>STILL can't marry the best girl (Venti)
Automatic pass from me.
No, but I'm gonna play it anyway
Katamari damacy and hollow knight are great if you haven't played them. Also how is hotline miami on the switch?
Is there even a game out there that ACTUALLY lets you marry a dragon girl? (No, thousand years old lolis that are dragons only by name but you basically just marry the loli do NOT count)
It's a little awkward as someone that's played it on PC before but I don't think it's any more difficult to control than the other console/Vita versions.
Just finished resident evil remake for the second time as Jill. Unfortunately I didn’t realize I was playing in easy the whole time until I beat it so now I’m gonna go for a speed run on normal. Hopefully under 5 hours.
117 not counting Hulu YouTube and freeware games
60 Physical and 25 Digital and 12 in the mail.
Ah shit I didn't realize Astral Chain was coming out so soon.
I don't know mang. I just wanted to romance and feed pancakes to my dragon waifu.
my backlog is not that big now, cleared most of it last year, actually working on The Crew 2, then I have DQ Echoes of Yadda sitting on my PC with I think 5-7 hours on it, pirated, so I will finish it.
Then we will see, got Mario + Rabbids and Odyssey.
But, I have to finish my 3DS backlog too, I usually crush my backlog during autumn and winter, 8 months of pure gaming.
Playing Three Houses, doing chapter 17 right now. Is it possible to join up with the third army to take on the nazi house? I'm playing as GD btw. Game kinda makes it sound like that's an option.
gimme battle network collection already
The game literally wouldn't work out well with it because of the whole red blue thing.
whats the red/blue thing
I was also unsure about this, but with Marianne hanging around in the back right as Sylvain and his troupe showed up, I couldn't afford to let her die, so I kinda jumped the gun. Though honestly the end of the chapter makes it sound like it wouldn't have been possible.
>tfw internet is AIDS on Switch but fine on everything else
GD has no options. BL is dead without Sensei to help them.
What's that?
BN4 was coded weirdly so it has compatibility issues
Backlog
>Fire Emblem Three Houses
>Furi
>Alien Isolation (PC)
I'll pick up Astral Chain when I can get it for $50.
>Playing
Finished Edelgard's route a couple days ago, planning to do church route but I'm not really satisfied with how NG+ has been implemented so I haven't been playing.
>Cleared backlog
jej
oh, i hadnt heard about that. Might be tough then
I bought Enter the Gungeon on an eshop sale and I'm trying to like it but man, it's so demoralizing. I'm about 10 hours in and if I'm lucky can scrape by to the third floor, but almost always die on the second. Guess I'm not gud enough.
I feel you man, I don't play it that often cause progress is so fucking slow. Maybe try playing it with something on in the background, like youtube or an album or something, so you can just grind it out.
Characters, WoL, spirits and all challenges
I gave up on games like that when I realized playing was pointless and I wasn't having fun anymore. Sometimes I miss them, but then I remember that I could be playing something with more substance and I feel fine.
I bought this game called Moonlighter. Pretty much just loot dungeons and then sell them at your shop. I was bored by the time I hit the third dungeon.
How do I get a Switch without looking like a Pic Related?
Had a Super Nintendo, N64, GameCube, and Wii, but mentally skipped the Wii U, and trying to get a Switch but also afraid about looking like a pic related since I've had bad experiences with people who use them frequently in the portable mode.
Also have friends who think "Nintendo is gay" too and they visit my house frequently
Good job faggot you killed the thread
just buy one, preferably not the gay red and blue one, and use it in the dock.
If you have normal friends, they'll be all over Mario Kart.
Literally every Chad, Stacey, Brad and Tracey loves Mario Kart.
It transcends all social stigmas.
Imagine being this self conscious.
>preferably not the gay red and blue one
>preferably not the gay red and blue one
I'm pretty drunk
I'm playing Katamari but really want recs on other games to buy
What colors do you suggest?
I'm paranoid faggot
red and blue joycons are complete basedboy colors.
Either get solid red, grey or the dragon quest blue.
Only just got a switch
>Mario Odyssey
What the fuck this literally makes all part Mario games look like shit. This was unironically worth the price of the console alone.
>Breath of the Wild
Played on PC at 60fps at 4k. Its a literal downgrade from that, but its still playable and playing it mobile is cool
>Three Houses
Pretty fun, not into a lot of the waifu waring anime trope garbage
>Crypt of the Necrozelda or whatever its called
Solid as fuck.
>Yet to buy: Mario Kart 8, Smash
Pretty hyped for upcoming stuff. Animal Crossing, and Mansion 3 look great, and hopefully Breath 2 runs a bit better now its not cross platform with the Wii U (Doubt it though)
Get friends who won't make you feel paranoid about the things you own. For fuck's sake user, you can't be an adult and willingly hang around people who are gonna shit on you for your interests.
>You have that backlog cleared for Astral Chain on Friday right?
>Mario Kart 8
Make sure to give 200cc a try once you get up there, shit's fun as FUCK.
I just bought splatoon 2 and realized it's mostly just an online game and think I made a mistake now. At least it was only $30.
I'm working on xenoblade 2 and botw. in xc2 I just hit the part where they declare war so I'm cleaning up a bunch of side quests and a little burnt out on it. In botw I am ready to go into hyrule castle and kinda doing the same upgrading some armor sets and stuff.
Dunno what to play next
>You have that backlog cleared for Astral Chain on Friday right?
No.
I'm not totally sure which version of FFX I'm supposed to get. I read that the SEA version has both games on cart and you can switch the menu language to english. What language are the voices in? What does the cover look like
Is it actually worth it to hack your Switch? I still need to buy a MicroSD to USB adapter and an RCM jig to do it. I have the launch model that can boot any exploit, how easy is it to pirate games and not get banned with atmosphere or whatever?
The switch is a big flat board has pretty shit ergonomics I just play it docked on my computer on an extra monitor and run the audio through my motherboard so it mixes the audio with my headset. Just buy a pro controller and play docked it's like any other console
>nd realized it's mostly just an online game
How the fuck did you not know this?
I assumed there was a bot mode I'm definitely going to give online a try just not at the moment since I don't play any other multiplayer games.
I'm mostly just unhappy it has no singleplayer because I imagine it is going to be pretty worthless in the future so I suppose I'll have to resell it sooner rather than later
Been grinding some MHGU to while waiting for Iceborne. Also got the Dragon Quest XI demo to mess around with. Won't be able to sadly afford Astral Chain on launch but I do plan on getting it.
There's a single player mode which is basically just one long tutorial on the intricacies of the gameplay to get you prepped for online, and the DLC focuses on more advanced single player content.
Seeing as even Splatoon 1 is still active to this day, I wouldn't worry too much about Splatoon 2's lifespan, it'll at least match the Switch's if not outlive it.
I popped it in this afternoon and beat the bread oven boss. I think the singleplayer isn't bad so far. I had to turn off the gyro controls as soon as it gave me the option. Why do they take away the y axis on the analog? I think it might be more serviceable if it was similar to botw.
I see the DLC adds a bunch of levels to SP and it's $16 on amazon. Has it been cheaper? I really hate throwing away money on digital content.
Bought my switch on Friday and I've been having a great time playing mario oddysey. Not sure if I'd like AC because combo fighters are not my thing.
>Just bing bing wahoo during the ceremony bro, remember to turn up the volume too.
TELL ME WHAT TO BUY
>You have that backlog cleared for Astral Chain on Friday right?
No. I'm like a mission into the time skip in Three Houses, and Spyro and FFVIII come out on the same day next week. I don't know how i'll juggle all these games i want to play.
>octo expansion was genuinely some of the worst content I've ever played
Golf Story
THANK YOU
I've been playing Event Horizon while waiting for Astral Chain. It's a very good game if you like Star Control style space dogfights.
I just bought a Switch, I'm a PC gamer and this is my first time owning a console while it's a current console basically ever.
The one I have is hardware hackable but I have the latent desire to swap it for that new better battery life one. Will that one ever be hackable?
A dude is selling his switch for like 120 bucks in my area. Should I go for it or wait for the lite. Barely used.
I only want to play in bed or on commutes.
Finished the DQ11 demo, I want it now!!!
>What are you enjoying on your Switch?
Just playing smash & more smash
>You have that backlog cleared for Astral Chain on Friday right?
Hell no, haven't even started xenoblade 2, and can't decide between getting sao fatal bullet or fire emblem 3H
Curretnly playing Fire Emblem Three Houses. Got a copy gifted for my birthday and currently at Chapter 10. The game itself is funny but the Higschool shit is so tedious .
I always skip all the interactions and support because the japs cannot into proper characters. All of them are 2D cardboard cuts from clichees like Bernadette for example.
my dude you gotta free yourself.
things dont matter this much
>Why do they take away the y axis on the analog?
Because the Y axis has a defined zero point. If you could aim up and down with the stick you'd have to recalibrate every time you touch the stick. That only works for ADS shooters, which is what BotW's controls essentially are.
oh yeah I forgot about the fact that you need to hold to aim
Damn, I mean, you did write a lot, but why work so much on such obvious bait? Either keep itn short and obvious or long, but believable - throw some "but this game was good" or "it wasn't awful", some good points, so you can at least bait some ppl
Close to 100 as of now, 55 physical, will be around 70 at the end of the year seeing how much is released/how much older titles I want
>I hate anime inspired games
If you hate anime, and you hate Nintendo's made for children garbage, why the FUCK did you buy a Switch in the first place? For Metroid fucking Prime? Babby's first console FPS?
I'm sorry man, I just have no sympathy for you.
Finished Fire Emblem recently and have since got back into Valkyria Chronicles 4. Was hoping to finish the latter before Astral Chain but I probably won't be able to at this point unless I did basically the rest of the game in one session. Not a huge deal if I don't though.
Been thinking a lot about Animal Crossing lately.

I mean, I will still beat it because I'm not buying AC until next month, but... so far I like it, but at the same time I don't. hard to explain.
And the worst part is, most of my complaints are about little things, but those things are annoying as fuck. Why the fuck music becomes quieter when you open the menu? In dungeons, you have those save points (they look like some totems, I don't know how to describe it better) which also have some kind of aura around them. Once you approach them, you're automatically healed, the game auto saves, and the monsters that are nearby are ''removed'' and are placed back in their original position on the map. Yes, it works kinda like bonfire in Souls games, with the exception that it does not respawn enemies (you nead to quit and load gamer or go back to world map and enter again) and their HP does not go back up. Meaning, you can be a fucking retard player who hits enemies 3 times, goes back to heal, and then back to enemy and finishes him. But then you get to boss and curse developers because how slow the usage of potions is.
Also, first town has 3 save points. Why?
A few.

Any co-op games for 3+ players? I'd prefer something with a decent campaign but arcade style games are cool too.
Wowsers, I didn't expect this level of hostility. Well, I'm sorry if my post might've been a bit blunt, but let me clarify if you will: I bought a Switch for the possibility of gaming on the go, and the possibility that Nintendo's exclusives would be enough to justify it. HOwever, I feel that their lineup has been poor lately. This isn't exclusive to Nintendo, I feel similar to the lineups of the Ps4 and Xbox. I just feel let down by a company that I felt used to always give a quality product. To offer a sum up of what I said, basically this is my tastes.
>I don't like casual games
>I don't like games heavy on story
>I don't like anime games (because it ALWAYS leads to generic cliche garbage like the female tsundere calling you a baka, or the generic underwear/lingerie scene, or something else equally stupid)
>I dislike Splatoon in particular because the thought of paying 60 bucks for an online game with terrible online doesn't sit well with me. Ignoring the obvious problems with net code and nintendo's shoddy online, the fandom is just really hard to play with. Any time I've tried getting a team together for online play (I like chatting with them) they usually spam porn or don't even try. Like I'm playing with twelve year olds or something. The singleplayer and octo expansion were just terrible to me because there was way too much story, like I was watching a movie or something.
That and a cadre of other issues, including the hardware problems, has really soured me on the Switch. And you know what the worst part is? Nintendo refuses to give me a refund on these broken joycons, and they won't even accept them to be replaced. So that's money out of my pocket to fix them, assuming they don't break too. Please, why should I accept that with a smile, like my rights shouldn't be respected?
>Splatoon+Octo was heavy on story
holy shit dude, you must have a short attention span if those are heavy on story and "like watching a movie"
Arguably, I could stand a little more story if I liked the characters, which wasn't true here. I like Mario for instance, so I usually give Mario RPGs a pass. It also helps that I find their gameplay to be better. Meanwhile, I can't go five seconds in Xenoblade or Fire Emblem without wanting to take every waifu character out back and giving them a good brick to the head for having the IQ of a sack of potatoes. And yet the game not only asks, but practically demands that I love these characters and will shove them in my face at any opportunity.
any game recs that aren't exclusives, but also DON'T have a pc release? so console exclusives, i guess
I have ~120 games and haven't even played half of them. Only games I've actually finished are botw and Shantae and the Pirate's Curse.
Cool shell, but just looking at a pic of all those bubbles under your screen protector is pissing me off.
I don't know why anyone would buy a shell that doesn't at least add a D-pad.
>river city girls
There are actually anons out there who are hyped for this?
I was going to try to finish Fire Emblem while on vacation, but the USB-C cable I brought doesn't actually seem to charge my Switch so I will have to wrap that up before I can jump aboard the Astral Chain ship
>I don't like games heavy on story
>I don't like anime games
Why the hell did you buy fire emblem then? Look up anything about games before buying them next time.
>Wowsers
Stopped reading right there.
Can someone explain the mass appeal of Smash? I only every played it on 64 at a friend's house a few times back in the day and really don't get the hype. Isn't it just another fighting game? I kind of want to get it just because of the seeming universal praise (and to make use of my online subscription outside of Tetris 99, which is somehow my second most played game), but I find fighting games kind of boring.
Is the Sword and Shield edition still available? I preordered one and still aren't sure if I'm going to keep it or sell it at a mark up down the line. I don't care about Pokemon but really love the color scheme.

Crossovers are inherently appealing and it's probably one of if not the single largest high budget official crossover entertainment products in human history.
The gameplay is exciting and fun, with the absurdity and unexpectedness of a party game for more casual players, but the option to play more technically or competitively for more serious players. Lots of content, and overall very good production value.
Honestly not sure what to tell you besides that, it's just a very good game with lots of franchises that people love in it.
Persona 5
How's Salt and Sanctuary? I've literally never heard of it before looking at your image but it looks like it might be up my alley based on the eshop trailer.
Is it fun if you don't have any friends?
Notably less fun, but still worth the purchase in my opinion.
Does it ever go on sale? I have a massive backlog so only buy new games on sale (usually only 50% or higher), but I've been waiting for Octopath to go on sale (any sale) for like 6 months now.
Depends. I have 100s of hours in it and only maybe 10 hours of that is playing with friends. The rest is either the single player (50+ hours, I went full completionist on it), and online randoms.
I don't know if I'd recommend it as a single player game outright, but I do think the single player content (namely World of Light, Spirit collecting and Spirit team building, and the side modes) are all pretty fun and you'd get a solid 20 to 30 hours out of them very easily. If you're a completionist and go for every Spirit then 40+ hours IIRC. World of Light itself is a nice little mode that basically pits you against AIs in battles themed around all sorts of shit from Nintendo (and other IPs) history so if you're fans of some of the IPs in Smash it's fun to see how they reference them. A good example would be fighting The Boss from MGS (Zero Suit Samus in a grey colour) on a flat Pikmin stage with poison floor while Snake Eater plays.
As said, the meat of the game is playing with folks, but there is content for purely single player folks.
I sold my Switch and pre ordered the mini, Pokemon version since I only have the desire of it being portable. I can't wait to buy it and get Super Mario Maker 2 the same day.
I didn't mean playing it in single player. I have an online subscription, but don't have any Switch friends, so would just be playing with randos.
In that case, yeah it can be pretty fun. As I said, I've got 100s of hours out of it like that, though I just really like Smash's gameplay I guess.
You can set your own rules to whatever you like (all stages vs simpler stages, items or not etc.) and will -generally- get those rules or something similar in matchmaking, so you can play to your preferences too.
I pirated it on pc and haven't played it on switch except for a few minutes. I intended to play it with my rooommate but he wasn't feeling it so I played it with a buddy on pc instead. I thought it was a decent blend of dark souls mechanics in 2d. There's equivalent gear to most of the dark souls stuff as well as some other stuff like guns and whips. 2 player was pretty easy although my build far out did my buddy in damage until late game when he eclipsed me so it was mostly me or him killing a boss so singleplayer isn't going to be so bad. now that I've played the game I'm sure I could walk through it.
If you think 2d dark souls sounds not bad then you might like it fairly well. My only gripes with it are no in game map and it took me a little long to realize you can put down things that allow you to fast travel. The first half of my playthrough included a lot of backtracking until I took the time to figure that out. I played the 1.0 version on pc I'm sure patched switch is probably fine.
>>I don't like games
Here you go, I summed your post for everyone
Thanks. It seems like an obvious purchase since virtually everyone who owns a Switch has it as one of their most played games. I'll wait for a sale and probably buy physical (tfw already ran out of room on my 400gb card only buying digital).
Sounds like it might be fun. Weird that I've never heard of it before.
I'M WAITING FOR ASTRAL CHAIN FFS WHY IS IT SO LONG
As a switch owner who isn't a weeb tell me why I should get this game. Currently playing MM2, gungeon and minecraft
avoid it
Been playing bastion since that was on sale for like $3
Dragon quest demo now and then.
I still have dragons dogma to beat and I want to get through skyrim
But Skyrim is boring, I'm having a hard time getting into it
Oblivion was my most played game on the PS3 and then I got Skyrim and thought it was boring as fuck in comparison. I still bought it on the Switch because ES portable used to seem like a dream, but the few hours I've put in it just looks like hot garbage.
Picked this up for €20 on a whim and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made
32 year old and been playing video my whole life. No idea what dragon quest is except maybe an rpg. Not into rpgs. If I like harvest moon and star dew will I like this?
no
I am enjoying Fire Emblem: Three Houses! It's been the only thing I've done in my free time since I got it two weeks ago. It's pretty easy, but the story is absolutely kino.
I like how the characters appear two-dimensional (like the characters of the previous few FE games) but once you get to know them they're fairly deep. I can relate to Dimitri a lot, so his character arc really touched me. I'm disappointed by how the Golden Deers/Leicester Alliance is kind of irrelevant (in the BL route, at least).
I finished the Blue Lions route a couple days ago and am working on Black Eagles right now. I intend to do Golden Deers next followed by the Church route.
I kept a running tally of who killed who in my BL run. Ashe killed the most of his former peers out of the rest of his classmates! He makes for a good knight!
>>animated jigsaws: japanese women
I dunno about that one being a consensus pick, user.
There's a demo of Builders 1 and 2 so you could check it out for yourself. It's more Minecraft than anything though.
>nintendo games
>on sale
Rune Factory 5 when????
eShop sales are pretty common. Nintendo games are often 33% off.
Breath of the wild. 2 divine beasts down, 2 to go.
Taking time now to grind shrines/memories/etc.
user, I have 50 digital games. Do you really think I paid full price for them. I did for 7 or 8.
Also
>buy a game for 0,99 euros while on sale
>get 33% off on all games from that publisher
Not every publisher has that policy, but still...
I actually really liked the memories part of botw. Aside from one that was just in some random forest, they're all pretty easy to find based on the landmarks as you explore. I had to look up the last couple of shrines because I just got fed up searching (didn't get the hero's path dlc until after pretty much completing everything in the main game - aside from koroks; fuck korok hunting).
>buy a game for 0,99 euros while on sale
>get 33% off on all games from that publisher
Huh?
I have (permanent) 33% off discount on games such as Hard West (which I bought), Phantom Doctrine and few more because I bought one of their games while it was 99 cents.
You can see at description on some of those games while browsing eShop. It says in the description how can you "earn" that discount.
Both of those games are 33% off for me right now but I don't see anything in the description about earning the discount, and am not sure what I might have purchased from that publisher before.
You probably did, but you don't remember. Unless they are on sale right now.
Well what other games did they put out?
Playing Okami
I promised myself to finish it before playing anything else but Jesus Christ this game is longer than I thought. I was expecting a 10 hour romp
K, I finished Bayo 2. Someone explain to the fucking story cause I've played both on and off for so long that I have no idea what happened.
Is nu-ActRaiser worth it at 30% off?
Enter the Gungeon, I think. Fuck, can't remember. I will check when I get home and post here, assuming the thread is alive by then.
wait what explain
>Enter the Gungeon
Well I bought that, but just checked the eshop description and still don't see anything about getting a discount on other games. Maybe it's just an EU thing?
Sorry, I fucked up. It's not Gungeon.
>pic related
Ignore the reflection. As you can see, when I go to Phantom Doctrine game, it says I have 33% off if I bought ANY of those games. Discount is permanent! I bought Sparkle 3 when it was 99 cents, I am this fag here
and I now have 33% off on their games. Bought Hard West for the same price, less than 14 euros
Forgot pic, sorry. I am confused today.
How do those games even function with analog stick controls? Sounds like a nightmare
Ah, okay. Now I see it. I did purchase NO THING for like 50 cents and am still confused (not about the discount, but about why I spent 50 cents on NO THING). Are either hard West or Phantom Doctrine any good? Most of those games look pretty terrible.
When's the new version coming out?
DOOM was pretty rough at launch, but patches have made it a lot better. Played through the whole thing in handheld. Gyro aiming is great, but it's still a bit too dark for me. Easy to miss the levers for the classic maps. I'd definitely recommend it in sale.
>I had to turn off the gyro controls as soon as it gave me the option
Bad move. Prepare to be seriously outgunned once you get out of C-rank babbies.
have fun throwing it into the garbage after the stick start drifting and cant be removed like joycons.
Hard West is pretty good, imo.
Not a problem to play them with a controller.
I doubt it will matter I used to play MW2 with max sensitivity and I am used to spinning around on console fps I don't see how gyro controls would be anything but worse.
Hard west is great but Phantom Doctrine bites a big one. Both of them make a pretty good argument for why nuCom needs RNG
Playing bloodstained. I don't have any hype for astral chain but Ill try it out when it releases.
Switch is gonna collect dust when Iceborne releases.
Love love love my Switch. I only got a PS4 last year, and my WiiU in 2012ish. Hard to believe just how many games there are for the Switch. I decided to mod mine because of how fucking expensive games are in Canada, so now I'm in that grey "I have 40+ games and nothing to play" area.
Playing Odyssey on and off so I can enjoy the game over time and not beat it all in one setting.
Love how Hollow Knight controls, but desu I got lost within an hour of playing this game. I understand it's meant to be played a ton and to memorize what is where, but I just wish it was a tad bit more friendly to new players, or maybe I just suck.
Been playing a fair bit of World Tour Tennis, as well as Golf Story. I fucking love RPG's like this where it's not based on magic/whimsy/world ending stuff. If anyone has an RPG that's a bit more grounded in reality let me know! I have Stardew Valley installed, waiting till Fall to start playing for max comfy.
I really really really wish the Switch had Spelunky and Rogue Legacy on it. I put 100+ hours into each of these on PC and it seems like the perfect fit for the Switch. Also, looking to finally get some shells for the switch to change up the look of it!
>bloodstained
Have they fixed the Switch version yet?
Saw something about Risk of Rain 2 coming to switch? WHEN
idk what was broken but it runs fine
>still playing a couple of VNs
>only finished one route in FE 3H
>just received Collection of Mana physical
>this friday Astral Chain releases
>september DxM, Zelda, DQ XIs
>october and beyond Yu-No, Alliance Alive HD, Raging Loop, Rune Factory 4S, Panzer Dragoon
ffs, there was fuck all the first half of this year and now this? How am I supposed to finish all of this?
What VNs?
You just fucking suck dude
I'm mid way through Shiroha's route in Summer Pockets, also re-reading Clannad in japanese to practice. But I was also planning on reading 428 Shibuya Scramble and maybe Worldend Syndrome soon.
Are there any good Japanese eshop exclusives with an English language option?
Not really, if a game has an english translation then most likely it gets localized. The only game that I can think off that has english and hasn't been brought here is Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 and it's not particularly good, unless you don't mind an absurd amount of grinding. Best case scenario a japanese game gets and English update but it takes some months to come here, so you can play it earlier if you buy it off the jp eshop (this happened with Taiko no Tatsujin)
Then what was all the hype about the Switch being region free?
It's always been super niche. Just a group that's super vocal on the internet.
well there are plenty of games that get physical releases on Japan but they are only digital over here, so for collectors it's pretty nice. Also there are plenty of good japanese exclusive games, but obviously they are in japanese. If you can understand it you can also play some games waaaay earlier, like Yokai Watch 4 which is probably gonna take a year or two to come out here
