Sandboxes were too hard for them and they wanted a piece of the everquest pie, so WoW was created to be the most minimum viable cookie cutter accesible MMO possible, then the rest is history, cus business wanted a piece of that pie and out came the years and years of shitty clones.

I mythic raided as a Warlock in retail. The rotation is more complex but it isn’t fun. Neither is spamming one button. What is fun is that spamming one button gets you good loot that lasts a long time that you can use to make everything you do easier. You also get to use more buttons in dungeons and all of your buttons in PvP

Warlocks are similar to Warriors, very few will make it all the way to 60. Warriors because leveling is terrible for them, Warlocks because it's fucking boring leveling them.

Paladins heal, only. At high gear levels, they're probably the best healers in the game, but don't roll one if you're not prepared to be Holy.

Warriors are viable for tanking and DPS. Really fun class, but painful to level. Dwarf Hunters shit on Rogues so hard it's probably unnecessary to even be a Dwarf. Dwarf Priests are highly valued because of fear ward, you'll probably be raid healing but every raid needs 1(One) SPriest, and Shadow is fine for PvP.

Strangely enough, my guild has 46 people signed on to raid but only 2 Rogues.

I was thinking about rogues earlier, how people who played vanilla probably remember Rogues at the end of vanilla, where everyone had blues/purples and 3-5k HP which meant Rogues dropped off a lot.

But that kinda average gear is a long way away, Rogues will be absolutely terrifying for months to come yet. Even with normalised attack power.

You may have got put in a layer that is out of phase for your current level, like most people are in the 6+ areas while you are in the starter.

What the hell are you talking about? Warlocks are insanely easy to level. Even if you just DoT and wand with them you're basically doing what a Priest does already but with a pet. Compare that to mages where you're OOM every 3rd mob and need to spend 30 seconds drinking.

Just got to level 9 and Im enjoying it, my one real complaint is that the drop rates for quest items feel very low.

Well I still couldn't decide what class I wanted to play so I leveled them all (minus shaman) out of the beginner areas and logged out in the first inn.
Maybe it's because I did it last but warlock seems pretty fun. Just throwing a bunch of dots around and multitasking while my imp cleans up after me was very enjoyable. Also got an imp name really close to my character's so I'm tempted to stick with him for that reason alone.

no, the people saying its good are all the underage on this board. It was baby’s first mmo and those people are now old enough to tell us how modern warfare is the best shooter ever made.

When you see them talk about WoW classic, it comes from the angle of having not realized or played the many other existing games of the time. They saw commercials for WoW, the world’s first casual mmo made for the millions who felt that mmos were too deep and required too much work to play.

It is comparable to how call of duty used to get like 1 million in sales, but then modern warfare tapped into that hidden multi million “i dont play videogames” community because it needed to give players an aimbot and made them thick it was skill.

I had never played WoW before but was waiting for classic, I gave in last year and joined and ended up loving it and played over 300 hours, quit when BfA came around. Is classic worth it? I will be playing alone most likely. I don't know most of the item/build speak and lingo and don't understand tactics and a lot of shit, I just do quests and explore and the odd dungeon, is it really worth it?

I almost bought a subscription yesterday because I was hyped for a real MMO after all these years. Then I watched some streamers and I instantly remembered how boooooooring vanilla wow actually was.

Because Blizzard really, really don't want to deal with server transfers if they put up too many so everyone is stacked like sardines.

I just want to play battlegrounds, especially AB. Though I work as a consultant and have irl stuff to do now.

Thinking I should wait some weeks/a month and then buy a boost to level 60 for 200-300$. Worth, or are there better alternatives?
