I'm playing the HL series for the first time and I just finished the Episodes. Should I play HDTF next? I know it's unofficial and cheesy but it can't be worse than Episode Two, right?

Also, I skipped Decay. Is it any good?

It's fun with a buddy but that's about it.
If you want more HL I recommend trying some mods and Black Mesa.

The game is literally a driving escort mission with keyboard steering and bucketloads of boring, unskippable cutscenes. I can't actually imagine a way it could be any worse. The final boss is a tower defense game set in some rejected TF2 map, where you have to drive back to base and get a new sticky bomb every time you miss a shot. There are two (2) enemy types in the whole level and one of them can only be killed after you've killed all of the bullet-sponge mooks it spawns. It's every bad game design decision rolled into one stinking package.

It's got OK level design, but the 2 person mechanic is such a fucking chore to solo. If you don't have a bud to play it with, give it a pass. Unless you're extremely thirsty for more official Half-Life.
