The queue is to the character select screen which you've been able to get into all day, so they were just sitting in that until launch

it estimates based on how fast the line is moving, not just the length and girth

gave up on my que and went into a pve server and got straight in.
Then i went back and checked the pvp que again.
772 minute wait now for oceanic pvp server
(almost 13 hours)
its also only 10am so once its gets to around 6-7pm tonight and everyones home from work i can see that wait time going way higher.

The World in World of Warcraft literally doesn't matter anymore. Wherever you go, all you will see are people from different servers that you will never meet again. When you want to do a dungeon, there's no trusted server community to draw from, you just get thrown in a group with four fuckos, never talk to them, and never see them again after the run is over. When doing world PvP, you will get run over by a group of forty random fuckos you will never see again, if you even bother trying to defend the area, it will be with a bunch of fuckos you will never see again. It feels like a single-player RPG with a bunch of interchangeable NPCs.

getting launch "right" is a legit waste of effort. it's easier to just have launch day be shit and run the game normally the rest of the time.

quests are now on rails, fun talent trees were replaced by boring ability picking every 15 levels, fun abilities removed because no fun allowed, also completely redesigning classes every new patch/expansion, no sense of community whatsoever, worse world, worse player models etc.

Every class feels different to play in Classic. Every class can do something unique and cool that NOBODY else can do. Your gear tends to last a long time so upgrades feel valuable and strong. Your gear greatly improves your ability to farm gold (which is not easy to accumulate), to clear dungeons and raids, and to fight other players. In retail all of your rewards are essentially meaningless. High level loot rains from the sky and just adds numbers. No cool effects or any decisions to really make about how you want to build your character. Haste/Mastery are the best secondaries for your character? Stack those and nothing else or your class sucks to play. Not even just suboptimal but still fun, just flat out does not work correctly.

I've already got my name sorted. Reckon you just want my spot in the queue.

Shaman is not weakest. Shaman is great in group content and fucks peoples shit up in PvP. Hunter is only considered weak because their raid DPS falls off hard later on, otherwise it's a strong class. Druid is weak because it doesn't do anything better than anyone else except for run flags in WSG, but Druid also has some extremely powerful cooldowns for group content and is very unique to play. There's no real "weak" class though, they all fill a role and they all have a use in all levels of play.

No. Layers solves problems with overcrowded areas. Each server still has a maximum capacity and they cannot increase it without causing a lot of issues.
