You seem to have confused social justice with actual justice. The war in Vietnam was a crime against human history; there is no need, or even any real way, to turn Vietnam into a modern social controversy.

Convincing and gameplay unintrusive foliage is complete ass to create.

1. We failed to prevent the area from turning to communism
2. The forced draft targeted the poor/people with low IQs
3. The sky-high death rate
4. The troops were improperly trained and unprepared for the massive death trap they were stepping into
5. The troops were not properly equipped to walk through chest high waters with their gear and guns
6. The enemy had numbers and used guerilla tactics. Entire platoons were overwhelmed.
7. Troops were seen as village/baby killers and were shunned upon returning home.

It was a lot more pointless, too. It was endless king-of-the-hill, with the US usually abandoning the hill after a few days just for the cong to take it right back. It wasn't a war worth having, let alone playing.
