The protectorate is the best option for the south underrail though.

Maybe my shotgun just sucks, but I am using a Despot and I feel most of my shots just don't do enough damage or miss. I have 10 Perception with my goggles, I have leading shot, and I even have a grip on my gun for better bursts. I am using the standard red shells, should I be using different ones? I have some of the Tri-Shot, but I am saving that for enemies with serious armor.

if you only have leading shot and sixth shell just use the normal pump shotguns. you kinda need suppressive fire, opportunist and full-auto to go nuts on combat shotguns

I have full auto and opportunist, I can get suppressive fire. I mainly have been using opportunist with nets/caltrops up until now.

Fight them one at a time and use corners to make them come to you. They will only neural you once if you get in melee of them. If you have throwing you can net them and they are harmless.

Rusting acid is extremely annoying to get though.

Luckily acid is the solution to all problems except Depot A, the original underrail problem.

For me the turrets were detrimental. I reloaded a save to leave them turned off. You want all the nagas to go after you and stay grouped up so that you can give them the MKIII EMP and use your AoE attacks.

9mm chimera with muzzle and ana scope for big damage. You can also use this assault for your commando bursts. It eats up a whopping 48 AP, you can burst twice before needing to reload, and you won't have enough AP to reload in the same turn even if you have the bulletstrap belt on. I used 8.6mm chimera with compensator and ana scope on hard, still kills everything in one burst, the muzzle was a waste of two bullets.

Still using mutated dog leather armor I crafted from depot A loots as 24 lvl chem pistoler on dominating. Perhaps it's time to do Protectorate quest line.

You need the special shotgun belt for that, kinda sucks but that's how it is, same with the double barreled shottie's nerf, blame styg.

If you don't want to rely on crit damage, then use huszar frames. They have the highest damage spread. Then muzzle or compensator and regular scope or rapid. There's also the option of using a 7.62mm hornet with a muzzle and rapid. It'll burst the most number of times a turn and has a very high capacity.

Haven't done Foundry quests yet. This build was more like test and it was extremely successful. I would rate chem pistol grenadier almost on par with survival instinct psychosis. Probably can't destroy Fort Apogee in frontal assault with this like psi could but it's damn close.

Yeah, if I root a guy with the acid pistol its GG for him, but thats like a 35% chance at best for a long time due to the difficulty of finding parts.

I found one in a locker after wiping out the Scrappers.

The basic gameplay is that you make a chokepoint and you force it with entangle, taser, forcefield etc. Then bomb the shit out of things with grenades, cooked shot while using temporal manip with both feats to get more ap and lower cooldowns. You can hold on a doorspot for practically infinite time. I got lucky with 155-160 quality both dispenser and collector which gives like 57% entangle chance and the build has 6 shots during a turn so it's extremely unlikely not to get a tangle.

Well it depends on the fight. If the enemies have high dodge you might want to use a taser to get ~100% chance on blocking the chokepoint. You can use nets, incendiaries, frags, taser, emp depending on fight.

Pretty easy to fit quick pockets in so why not?

Hit and Run is pretty meh and you'll pretty much never use it with both Sprint and TM. Get Tempral Acceleration at that level instead.

We need shotguns that shoot like shotguns for starters. What the fuck is this 55° spread? I just looked it up and apparently shotgun pellets spread by about 2 meters at 37 meter range with a choke. I don't feel like calculating the angle with my atrophied brain, but it sounds something like 10° tops.

I use it exclusively on industrial bots.

Long barrel is literally useless. Choke too. I tried both at firing range and they performed worse than short without choke at any range. Forward grip on combat shotguns doesn't do shit either.

Its good on enemies with really, truly massive armor. Like the Foundry monsters, it is good on those.

Shotguns might not be the best but at least they aren't crossbows.

Shotguns are pretty great as long as you're not fighting somebody with tactical vests with 200% shell reduction or bots, they could use some more variety but they're not bad, bullet based pistols are much worse.
Crossbows also have their niche, like bypassing a lot of shield emitters, being silent ranged weapons is nice too.

How to improve shotguns
1. Slugs.
2. Stygshot, load your shotgun with Stygian Coins and devastate the enemy
3. Better empty shell recovery
4. Bullet molds aren't destroyed by crafting

I am about 99% sure shotgun accuracy caps at 71%. I average at least 66% using Short Tactical Vindicators exclusively and the lowest I've seen it go at optimal range is 55%. Doesn't seem like the better acc is worth it since you're giving up a hefty amount of damage for it.

Yeah I just have to start a new game and invest in skills I didn't, pickpocketing and stealth. Still, even with my horrible stealth, I can walk from one cell to the other into the vents just fine. The problem is SHE won't do this no matter what I do. I would rather not have to kill this guy but at this point I don't know what else to do.
I've tried that as well, she still gets murdered in the hall just the same because she still has to pass through that corridor to reach the exit vent.

I can typically one shot most stuff with a Vindicator shotgun with critical power and Fragmented Chaos.
I get around 3 shots per turn and with the shotguns AOE spread I can kill like 3 people with one shot.

As long cameras dont spot you, as long you leave from where you came from, as long you murder them all and leave no witnesses, you shall be fine

Do you actually have to charge the naga protector? When I spoke to him, he mentioned something like "state of charge 77%" but I wasn't sure if that was just a filler line since using batteries on him doesn't seem to work.

25 ap chem pistol will be 20 so in 1 turn you can 20+20+10 ap point shot or 20 + 30 ap cooked shot
12 dex for laser pistols
15>11 ap so
4 shots for a total of 44 and a point shot of 6 ap

yup no problem and you get to shoot plasma at 11 dex twice with 32 + 16 point shot for crit screenshots

Why are jet skis implemented in the worst way possible? If you carry anything with you they slow to a crawl. Have to go back to core city to buy them. Incredibly overpriced where you don't give a fuck and use what you can find in the dlc.

the way I'd do it is make the fusion cannon into a 2-step weapon, first is a Charge-Up that costs 50AP, second is a Fire Fusion Cannon that costs 50AP
however in return it deals 500-700 energy/500-700 heat to it's primary target and 300-400/300-400 in it's blast radius, which is increased to 3 tiles
And it's damage ignores 50% of damage resistance and threshold

Max Range of the weapon is also increased to 15 tiles

oh and course, targets that die due to a direct impact leave behind ashes instead of a corpse

I wasn't that interested in crafting on my first character, however I had too many points and eventually put a few into crafting. After seeing that my low level crafts were nearly on par with the best merchants I made a new character and made sure to have crafting as main skills.

Trust me, Underrail is all about scavenging and finding what is best. You're gonna want to be able to make grenades, ammo, better guns, shields, and stuff like that.

How do the merchants special inventories work? I see on the wiki that this merchant has two levels of special inventory: 25 and 45. When I came to him at 25 Mercantile I had a dialogue option that let me get special stuff. I came back at 45 but I don't see another dialogue option. Does it just automatically add in the second tier of special look as long as I am at 45 mercantile?

3. These people are exaggerating. Crafting does become better than shit you buy, but that isn't until later on in the game. You can spend most of the game buying items and finding them. Hell, you'll probably end up getting all of your best early/mid game loot from looting off of enemies
4. I am not big on crafting either, but I find it totally fine in UnderRail, especially when you find a lot of crafting ingredients from exploring.

There's more than just randomized loot in the game.

Thought Control. Temporal and Psychokinesis can be useful too, but Neural Overload on a psi that specializes into it can do crazy damage for how little it costs in AP and psi both. By late game it can one-shot most humans unless you are on DOMINATING.

hm, going low con psi is interesting, but low con is surprisingly also a very good choice for premeditation, as regenerative vests will often restore you immediately back up to 100% if you drop below 70

I don't have any Mk Vs left and only 20 acid vials.

Metathermics for slowing enemies and 15% bonus damage from hitting chilled targets with opportunist, Psychokinesis for stuns and some crowd control with force field + electrokinetic imprint, Time Manipulation for bonus stabby attacks, and Thought control for mass incapacitation.

Really depends, I can see a lot of uses psi has with pretty much every weapon.

At most you will have 5-6 CON and be lightly armoured, unless you prove me wrong.

Is Constitution for HP even important at all? Seems a very volatile game where either you kill all your opponents perfeclty, or you get a random miss and get stunlocked to death on the enemies turn regardless of your HP.

72 DT against bullets, a fuck load of health, and plenty of drugs I can injest to weaken damage further. Also, nearly complete immunity to regular explosives without shrapnel, i.e Naga blasts and pyrokinesis

This. First playthrough as a psi monk was fucking awesome early/midgame but by the time I hit DC it became a bore just oneshotting everything with proxy + telekinetic punch combo

Psi is anything but boring. You have a whole arsenal of powers that turn the whole game into a math rpg puzzle where perfect planning gives great rewards. You don't have to die if you know what you're doing, and you don't have to deal with the 95% accuracy cap crap.

Got naval mines, what is their impact exactly? Do I need to do anything at the camp or just loading them up with the ferryman good enough? Kinda surprised by how little feedback I get from the people at camp for doing cool stuff like activating the naga, getting mines, and killing like 200 pirates by myself including their captain and his lieutenants. Ladelman and Marcus have fresh bants everytime I visit camp but nobody else seems to talk much

Is there a "cheat" for this game so I can cap my accuracy to 100%? I'm sick and tired of missing important 95% accurate shots when they should be 100%. Also I want unlimited money from merchants because waiting for them to restock just so I can sell all my loot is a massive waste of time.

Mainly ss a Psyonic character -but wait, keep reading- I want to use a weapon for special cases, and when the enemy has so little HP left that with one shoot they die.
Should I go for good handguns or average SMG's? and what about shotguns? does any of these 3 makes any difference?
This is a capture of me throwing a self made grenade; the only that didn't die or had prottection against fire IDK, was the boss, so I freezed, stunned, etc; it was in times of this that my weapon really helped me.
