truly forgettable soundtracks that I do not listen to on a near daily basis

3 tracks out of a 5 hour OST

>shitty emocore trash
>good
yikes

those are the only ones with lyrics desu but I also listen to Lady's soundtrack, cerberus soundtrack, chicken lady soundtrack, and angelo's soundtrack. and user
>moving the goalpost

Learn what a goalpost is before you reply retard.

I said the OVERALL soundtrack was forgettable and not ''THE ENTIRE OST IS SHIT''

I think you don't find all the song memorable because there are just so fucking many of them and most of them are only played once. Unless you replay a certain section over and over again it's not gonna stick

>Devil Trigger
>Subhuman
>Crimson Cloud
>Roar Roar Roar
>Any Special Orders?
>Your Legacy
>Silver Bullet

Just off the top of my head. I didn't even think I would like Subhuman, but while it's still far from my favorite, it's really grown on me. My second favorite is "Any Special Orders?" Also, lots of good ambience, especially in mission 7.

It wasn't? It was amazing. NOW on the other hand, why in the FUCK do character songs not play in half the missions? I just beat SOS last night (beat it on DH when it first came out but it was sandwiched between RE2 and Shitkuro so just now getting back) and god this pissed me off both times I played through. I just want to hear kino YOU CANNOT KILL ME!s and instead half of Dante's missions don't even have fight music.

Also holy FUCK the Vergil fight is so much better on SOS / since they updated it apparently. It was kinda shit on DH but on SOS it was entirely different. Why don't they allow you to play SOS at the start? Fuck DH leaves a bad impression in your mouth in regards to the Vergil fight, when the super kino 10/10 fight is right there...

Sabotaging their own game in stupid as fuck ways

Still my GOTY, after replay

And yes, I know you can technically play SOS at the start if you unlock it by beating the prologue. It should just be available at the start for everyone though.

Entire OST is great. Goliath song is a banger, for example. No one is going to list it all out for your contrarian ass to debate.

DMC5 literally has the best OST in the franchise since DMC1. Whenever somebody dicksucks DMC3 or 4 it has always the same handful of songs that play at standout moments. DMC5 not only has great battle themes but just great ambient tunes overall.

youtu.be/O1lpklHazco

its the best tied with DMC1 though
3&4 have shitty music aside from a couple great tracks

>silver bullet isn't peak dmc
You absolute fool

DMC music has always sucked

They didn't hire Tetsuya Shibata. He's literally in the SE mobile dungeons composing music for mobile games. The songs performed by the western bands in DMC5 were honestly bad. Only V's theme felt like it fit in.

Fuck off, Ignignokt.

cringe

Don't forget Blazing Muscle and Voltaic Black Knight

nice

It suits the game well. Boring and forgettable.

Apart from the battle themes, it was really terrible. Everything was wubwub

You only said that to start a DMC OST thread, and it worked. Go on and talk about the music and stop pretending it's bad, you got outed on the first post.

It was wub wub trash but ironic.

thanks

Why is your life boring and forgettable?
Is just is

Agreed.

Wub Wub Doggy battle fit the fight really well.

Because they wanted to sell you the 3 OST DLC Packs you fucking Rubes.

Subhuman is the best song in the entire series though besides Devils Never Cry. Cringe.

>devil trigger, crimson cloud and subhuman are all fucking great battle tracks
>gets replaced by background noise in half the missions
I just dont understand who thought this was a good idea?

I'm the OP of that troll thread from yesterday and even I didn't mean it.

Subhuman is pure trash.

It's not though, you anti social virgin :^)

More memorable than 4 to me desu.

It isn't.

But Subhuman is literally god tier now that they fired the pedo and got an actual good singer. Maybe you're just too pleb to understand?

Why is there always a single autist who tries to make it 3 vs 5 when most non retards love both almost equally?

No, it just shit.

fuck this game was shit, (like all dmc)
tons of loadings (not big just lot's of them)
and after every minute of gameplay you get the most cringe cut-schenes I ever seen.

Because Shibata

Wow, you really think he made the op a picture of DMC5's box art, with a question on why the game's ost was overall a piece of shit, to discuss DMC5's music?

Jesus, I looooove dmc too, user. I play 5 all the time. Before 5 I played 3 and 4 all the time. And I unironically listen to songs from the soundtrack every game minus DmC.
But let's not deny reality.

youtu.be/_4F9Czd1X5A

Go to 1:32 in this video, listen, and tell me that isn't dubstep.

Every thread about the music, I swear, it's like I'm replying to anons that live in an alternate dimension where the ost's 10x better than it is in my own reality or something.

5 had some of the best cutscenes and cinematography I've ever seen though you contrarian hoe. RE engine is magic.

So the same as 3 and 4? 1 was the only one that had great tracks outside of boss themes.

DmC had a fantastic OST though. It's just that it was wasted on a shitpile of a game

You ever get to S rank?

What's some of your favorite metal / grungerock music bud

>projecting this hard
You really should have killed yourself a long time ago, mongrel.

No, you're not.

You're a desperate sperg that can't handle the fact that people may have wildly divergent musical taste than your own.
Maybe even better.

Why do you nerds make the same threads every day? There's nothing to talk about until we get something at tgs.

I'm literally the one who made that thread yesterday rere

Unwavering Bravery is probably the best track in DMC's history

It's up there.
And it took the cherry on top of the game that was the credits slaughtering, and set it on fire, baby.

Attached: 1561596502596.jpg (846x500, 43K)

Avenged Sevenfold.

The battle themes are good but half the missions arbitrarily have generic orchestral shit instead of the dynamic soundtrack

>73 posts

>Go to 1:32 in this video, listen, and tell me that isn't dubstep
It's not dubstep.

Ehhh.
Some of the edm was better than the edm that's in 5 for sure.
But fuck edm. I haven't listened to that shit since high school.
Good dmc music is a cocktail of edm and power metal, with a horror themed flavor for the sake of all the demonic themes going on in the games.

>2 posts per IP
hmm

Combichrist isn't EDM

Nico shop music is great, and also is The Duel.

>and power metal
I don't think you know what that genre is. DMC has a lot of different metal subtypes that influence its sound. Power Metal is not one of the.

>1 was the only one that had great tracks outside of boss themes.
youtu.be/EvzbD5_QrII
I like DNC too, I just find it a bit overrated, there are many other good songs out there

Genuinely unsure if you're trolling considering where I'm at. But kek

This

Alright then, thanks.

Now we can all write you off as a deceitful sperg that is deeply in denial.

This, why the fuck did they think having that kind of music playing instead of the battle tracks was a good idea.

People on Yea Forums are really retarded about what is and isn't EDM / dubstep

Because it has no memorable melodies. The music has no personality outside of the combat music. It's not a horror soundtrack, it's not an adventure soundtrack. Since the combat music is action based it has direction, it has a focus, to be action driven, but the rest of the BGM doesn't try to be anything. It's not foreboding, it's not tense, it's not whimsical, it's not strong or weak. Aside from very few tracks it has no defining tone or theme. Yeah, it's not as safe or boring as DMC4's but it also doesn't try to be anything real.

That's like saying that a drought isn't so bad because at least we have more water than a desert. That's not hard to do.

Am I the only one that liked the King Cerberus theme? It’s a fucking banger

DMC5 has A LITTLE bit of good music, that's it.
Why do you think deluxe had battle themes from 1, 2, 3, and 4?

What? Dubstep's characteristic traits are slow pulses and heavy basslines. I'd say Devils Never Cry is more of a Drum and Bass + Industrial track than anything close to Dubstep.

>Vergil Battle 2
The pace is somewhat there, but Power Metal generally has a broader sound and the percussion is too thin to provide that. Also, the lack of a melodic guitar line is a giveaway
>Dante's Office Battle
That's just industrial metal, through and through. Doesn't have the pace nor melodic instrumental line to be power metal.
>Agni & Rudra Battle
Industrial metal again.

This is now a dmc thread
How are you bros coping with no Vergil dlc, and when is the next event with the possible announcement so we can all get disappointed again?

Alright, autist.

Pat your fuckin back off, you corrected an anonymous rando on the internet on what genre some music from a shitty game that only normies give one shit about was.

I actually kinda liked the soundtrack.

My fucking bad.

I figured. Yeah, that has very heavy dubstep influences.
I still really like it.

Silver Bullet is EDM but not dubstep
And it's also fucking amazing

Wait how did they change it? I only play on dmd.

because DMC was a meme. BOTW fags would also say the soundtrack was boring and forgetable "by design" just like BOTWs "soundtrack" was only a bunch of soundeffects stringed together "by design"

No, he's right here. Especially the section at 1:32. It might be EDM, but the dubstep influence is intense.

SIlver Bullet is absolutely not dubstep
>t. 30 year old boomzoom who spent his entire 20s at raves and EDM shows

THANK YOU.

Screencap this and show you're not samefagging, samefag

He has way more moves and different attack patterns on SOS/DMD than he does on DH

Actually listen to it first.
At least at 1:32.

I used to listen to dubstep recreationally. Everyone I went to school with listened to dubstep. Every time they played music at our school during lunch or some homecoming thing or something, half the time it was dubstep.
I know what the fuck I'm talking about here at least.

Nigga, EDM, first of all, is a blanket term. It's not even a real genre. Second, even if the track is NOT dubstep, it can still have dubstep influences. That fucking pace shift at 1:32, complete with huge booming percussive hits and warbling basses, there's an undeniable influence.
Also, here's your cap, ya simp.

Attached: Cap.png (912x479, 33K)

Attached: Cap 2.png (1570x675, 92K)

Well the cerb boss ost was kinda disappointing same with The Duel between Dante and Vergil. But all around a banger sound track.

Photo mode is both a blessing and a curse.

Attached: 20190404232822_1.jpg (1920x1080, 401K)

tgs is our last hope for the year and the cope will be huge if we don't get anything. Just look at what happened at e3.

How do dee-em-cee-vee and RE2 look so fucking good bros
it's like next gen on current gen or some shit

>Your Legacy
You seriously think that is a good song? If I heard that song on the radio I'd change the station. It's such a cliche emotional song, There is nothing unique or interesting about that song and it even brings down the scenes it plays in. I am seriously confused as to why people like it. To be honest, I also hated Let it Go but I'm told it was a matter of story and build up that made it good but frankly it didn't make it any better.

I thought vergil's boss theme was great in 5.
youtu.be/LfZOq7LVx9A

It's the theme he has when he fights Nero that was the most disappointing song in the game for me.
I didn't even like the violin intro part. It all sounds lame and shitty to me.

You have abysmal taste, but I'll admit people going crazy about Your Legacy when this version exists is weird.
youtube.com/watch?v=TKnM0Hsr5pY

It's fantastic, so yeah, and fits entirely with Nero / Vergil / DMC4 / the entire point of DMC5
Being an edgy retard just means you're literally 15 or 15 mentally

Also, the Duel is definitely disappointing the first time you hear it because at the very least I was expecting a song very reminiscent to his 3 themes, but after you accept it isn't that, it's also completely kino and great

What's with constant threads shitting on DMC5 ?

I won't hype myself until we get a trailer.
on a second note, I was thinking, could they make shredder a back hold input?

Attached: DMC-Devil-May-Cry-warm-bodies-zombie.jpg (613x198, 21K)

You can't have discussion on Yea Forums without shitting on the game. DMC is like the only series on Yea Forums that gets it substantially less though so idk what you mean. I think most agree 5 is fantastic.

Because the entire game is like that.

It starts out very strong but the second V becomes playable the whole game kinda just sputters along it's story paces until you unlock Dante and get to play him. Then after 3 or 4 more missions the game just devolves into complete unforgettable nonsense until the last 3 levels which are unironically kino.

Most of the mechanics in the game are like that too. Half of Nero's arms are just gimmicky pieces of shit that don't do anything other than literally one thing that is useful. V's entire gameplay is fucking auto-win bullshit with delayed inputs out the ass so no one likes him or plays him. Dante is the only character who has a consistently fun playstyle as always but the whole "Every weapon has a different form and 2 new mechanics" bullshit is the definition of over-stuffing a character. Dante is straight up OP as fuck in the game and as such after about 20 solid hours of training with him absolutely nothing is exciting anymore because you have like 5 different things you can do that'll always put you ahead of everyone and he's unironically more casual than he's ever been. Especially after nerfing Trickster so that he can't animation cancel with it anymore.

This isn't even talking about how fucking streamlined and samey all the enemies are. With the exception of Fury and that tanky as fuck enemy with super armor, every enemy acts the exact same under most conditions and you can abuse the fuck out of the AI because of it.

DMC4 may have been a half-finished game but at least you could always try new things with Dante and the enemies were all memorable because they all behaved vastly different from any other enemy.

I can't even remember half of the bosses of DMC5 because most of them were literally just "super armor or dodge this and attack" bosses.

The only true memorable fights in DMC5 were Vergil, Voltiac Knight and King Cerberus.

Attached: 1558430496282.jpg (1024x588, 28K)

No, he's right.

You're not a woman, are you, user?

any good remix of your legacy? normal version is just a bit too short for me.

>No, I'm ri- I mean, HE'S right
Kek

was it KINO?
youtube.com/watch?v=MJsX_03M96U

It is reminiscent of his 3 themes.
It sounds like they made a vergil 4 theme in dmc5, which it is.

>Why was dmc5 so boring and forgettable?
Ftfy

Dante saved the game again, anything before mission 10 was kinda meh

It has a lot of flaws that need thoughtful discussion. It seems fanboys feel offended by it for some reason.

The entire fucking game was kino and really made the ten year wait for Nero / Vergil resolution feel worth it to me. Mission 12+ is just insane, reference and homage after reference and homage. Shitters who are unironically shitting on the game are just copeing because DMC got an amazing climactic game that hit every single thing from the entire series and put it all together.

I'm a fucking retard and didn't even put 2 and 2 together about the Mallet Island bosses being V's pets until mission 18 and holy fuck was that kino. The world falling around Dante / Vergil's house as Vergil resurrects was the best moment in a game I've had in a good few years, at least. Devil Sword Dante. Nero DT. Nero/Vergil. I'm so glad I'm not a cynical bitch.

It might be an unfair take of it but if it's so great do you think it would be a successful song outside of the fanbase? Would it be popular on the radio? Would you buy the single if it wasn't a DMC song?

You're so pathetic, user.

>The missions with the least gameplay are the best

These questions are retarded. Do YOU base the quality of music based on what plays on the radio? Cause if you do, this entire conversation is already pointless.

>Vergil resurrects was the best moment in a game I've had in a good few years,
It was fucking kino, that build up even before the game released to and the 10 year wait. So fucking good. But they kinda ruined the moment by showing it in a trailerand not having him playable

Attached: 1538945834123.jpg (1920x1080, 91K)

I too, think Nickelback is fantastic

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 126K)

I avoided the trailers after the one that introduced Subhuman, personally. Didn't want to spoil the story for myself after waiting ten years. I'd be pissed if I seen the FINAL TRAILER and it showed Vergil before I saw it in game.

>It has a lot of flaws that need thoughtful discussion
We can talk about the flaws and I would enjoy discussing them. But this thread does not have thoughtful discussion. It's all just fags talking about which game ost they like more. Not that's a bad thing, just isn't much for discussing a game like DMC.

Attached: tumblr_pp6x2vUZHX1tbx211o1_500.png (500x556, 216K)

>download dmc1&3 battle tracks
>go to set them
>(does not affect boss battles)

Attached: 1451540370496.png (1136x717, 246K)

>showing it in a trailer

This is what happens when you watch any trailer beyond the initial reveal. Games companies are retarded about spoilers these days, constantly showing way too much. You have to actively avoid them.

Attached: 1552253068738.jpg (339x419, 11K)

The opening and prologue of the game set it up almost perfectly and was pretty open-ended which allow vets of the series to slide in smoothly.

Then V becomes playable and the whole games comes to a complete fucking stop because V's mechanics and gameplan is so obtuse and different that it's actually jarring to switch between them. It also doesn't help that V's entire gameplay is literal button-mashing until you get a SSS rank and win.
The story also kind of just slows to a halt here too as nothing of value happens.

Then Dante becomes playable and you actually can start having fun again as the story kinda starts ramping up stakes finally. Then it sputters out again and has that stupid 3-parter mission where you have to play the same level 3 fucking times essentially and then you get that mission where you can select any of the character to play through and entire fucking level is literally just a gauntlet arena with some traveling to find some orbs.

Fucking nothing happens in the story until Dante beats Urizen and Vergil is resurrected and then finally you have all your fucking weapons as Dante and the game opens up entirely for you.
The Mallet Island trio was probably the hardest part of the game as well since especially in higher difficulties they start chunking your health.

Vergil Boss battle takes place with Dante and it could have been better but it was servicable. Then it ends with DT Nero which will always be a highlight because it actually gave you a reason to play through the game again since they unlocked at the end.

Every Mission in-between those parts though was a fucking slog.
Keeping Nero's stupid grapple puzzle was idiotic since they got rid of platforming outside of Secret Missions.
Every level where you had to play as V is boring and stupid.
1 or 2 of Dante's levels is mostly spent running around collecting something with some small fights in-between but nothing to justify the level itself.

Yeah, I'm thinking of buying it on Steam because Google is being a faggot.

based non-cynical non-jew poster

It was an awkward soundtrack. The 3 main tracks are all good, perfectly in line battle music that matched the characters really well. The background music was alright though like the environments themselves, stopped trying at a certain point in the story.

The problem is you get to the boss music and it's absurdly varying quality. Voltaic Black Knight might be one of my favorites in DMC history and Elder Geryon Knight was good too, though those felt like they were trying to throwback to the original DMC music which just made me wish they just made the whole soundtrack like that. When it came to trying their own thing, Goliath, Artemis, Malphas... They're all just so forgettable. And then there's Cerberus and Proto Angelo which I actively dislike.

At least Urizen and Virgil got pretty good tracks, and I as far as trying this new style out that worked out for them, I actually unironically love Nidhogg's theme. My biggest disappointment in the tower being released is that neither of V's unique bosses became fightable by Dante or Nero.

I think overall though, it's a mixed bag. I definitely see where you say there's a good number of boring tracks, but there's also a lot of good ones you're dismissing.

Warm Bodies was one of those movies where I cant decide if I enjoyed it or not

>Short as fuck missions with cutscenes literally every minute is somehow okay compared to the middle half of the game that allows actual gameplay
And then you admit that you’re shit with V and then you claim the diverging point missions are the same, which is blatantly untrue as they’re all completely fucking different.
The story in the game is good, and I’m glad they have enough missions in the middle that don’t shove tons of story in them so I can actually play them and enjoy them in later playthroughs

They did warn us though so I can't fault them.I was already on Yea Forums when the trailer dropped and couldn't help myself.

I genuinely can't understand how someone finds Subhuman to be good. I guess it's just subjective but it just sounds like noise to me.

>go to youtube
>bump the speed up to 1.25x
>enjoy

It's my favorite song in the entire franchise so idk man, but I listen to literally all types of music. Getting S rank with Subhuman is the best feeling the entire franchise has given me. I actually hated it when it was first leaked though.

it was a fun watch, just don't think much of it.

Attached: 5Nero.jpg (1105x1377, 290K)

I like it when you get to S rank and it starts blaring
>YOU CANNOT KILL ME
But I still use dmc3 music for Dante though

Attached: dante blood.jpg (1920x1080, 177K)

It actually sounds decent now. Holy shit...

>Short as fuck missions with cutscenes literally every minute is somehow okay compared to the middle half of the game that allows actual gameplay

Name one mission with more than 1 cutscene that isn't the opening or ending of the mission because I doubt you've played this game nearly as much as you're trying to sound like you have, let alone the 60+ hours I've played.

I think it plays to the dynamic theme and gameplay well, though admittedly is the track I least want to hear just flat out on an MP3 player.

First 3 missions

I warmed up to it after a while. I get pumped with the beat around 4:22.

I just beat the game for the first time maybe a few weeks ago and I beat SoS like last week. I'm glad it wasn't just me because I found the Vergil fight kinda underwhelming on DH but thought it was as good or even better than Vergil 2 or 3 in DMC3 on SoS.

Overall the ost is alright, but most tracks fail to stand out, It just doesn't have the same strength and drive the previous games had.

I didn't like that song either, it sounds forced and generic. Too obvious that it was made to evoke some kind of emotion, but this makes it feel manufactured. Hard to put it into words but it just didn't feel natural. Honestly the track sounds like it was made for a movie and it's the weakest one of this kind in any DMC game.

Burn In Hell is the real song. If you do not chainsmoke play pachinko and beat your okusan you are not a real fan and you do not know what you are talking about.

You're baiting, nigga, soundtrack is fantastic.

Don't forget Nico's, comfy af

I barely understood your post.
But yeah, Burn in Hell is good. The same composer worked on 5 too.

>that weirdass aborted bird fetus on his head
jesus christ, never noticed that ingame

Does anyone know what else in the music you unlock when you reach ss and sss during a fight? Or does the whole song unlock on S?

Fuck Bang Bang it's not forgetable it's irritating and so cringy and try hard , Dante music is kinda good but forgetable , V's music is fuckin amazing bring me back to the 90s everytime i hear it

I'm having flashbacks now
> that og Donte reveal
> tfw I was on v back then
Any other anons who've been here since DmC days? The disappointment, anger and frustration was so tangible it was insane

Ingame model isn't as detailed obviously, so you won't really get to see that. Griffon is a very RE monster though, like some fucked up experiment gone wrong rather than a demon.
