there are a ton of the games in the genre.
there are some good ones, but many mediocre ones which drag down the genre as a whole.
It's why i have both "puzzle" and "platformer" filtered on steam

it's good when they throw in all sorts of cool secrets and alternate movesets that require the player to do more than just move close and press attack
coincidentally that's why shadow over mystara is so good. there's lots of little details coded in to keep things interesting

Most of them are braindead quarter sinks. I would recommend playing Streets of Rage on Hardest. My bro and I run it a few times a year still shooting for that 1cc.

Feels pretty fucking good. I used to be able to consistently 1CC House of the Dead 4. It’s a lot easier than the previous games but still a ton of fun and super satisfying.
