Mario 64 controls so well that it’s crazy more games don’t have a move set like that.

I know it's bait but I've seen autists here who genuinely believe this and have written big embarassing breakdowns of when sonic 'actually' went to shit because they changed the awful controls slightly.

such excellent music though. the japanese have always liked their funky-jazz-rock fusion stuff and sega always nailed that shit.

I thought this would be something insightful but it just turned out to be massive Sonicfag cope.

>SM64 having bad controls

How? If it's one thing it did right, it actually had really solid 3D controls in a era where they were very few 3D platformers which had pretty subpar controls.

what boggles my mind is that a platformer with only 1 analog stick players better than modern platformers that have 2.

I personally don't understand why people get defensive over either. I had more nostalgia for Super Mario Sunshine and Sonic Adventure 2 over both of these. Sunshine is solid even accounting for the obnoxious blue coins and I was one of the freaks who actually enjoyed all the Sonic Adventure 2 gameplay modes. (aside from the later emerald collecting levels like Mad Space)

Both Soundtracks are good though.

Imagine actually thinking for even one picosecond of your life that Sonic Adventure controls even remotely decently. I shutter at the very thought of losing grasp with reality to such an extreme.

I think Sonic Adventure is a great game and I couldn't care less about Mario 64. The difference is probably the audience. Nintendo games attract autistic manchildren who never shut up about the games.

>"controls so clunky it ruins the experience for a lot of people"
>"controls are extremely responsive and satisfying to use"
You are living in a fantasy world

Is this real?

Unironically true.

Why can you stupid faggots never articulate your points properly? Why waste time making these autistic comparison images when you're not actually directly comparing anything?

while nintendo was developing mario 64, Sega was developing sonic x-treme that had such a shaky development and was such a failure that the moment mario 64 was released Sega immediately cancelled the work on x-treme to start working on sonic adventure

The only thing clunky about Mario 64 is the camera, but it was a good attempt for literally their first 3D endeavor and no second stick.

clunky post desu senpai baka

mario 64 controls like ass but is otherwise good once you get the hang of it
there has never been a good sonic game

Stopped reading when it compared the controls. Who could actually believe this?

pssst... The image was designed as bait by a butthurt Adventurebab on Twitter to get back at all the meanies who correctly point out that SM64 aged better in most aspects than SA1 did.

>industry standard

it literally is though, this isn't some opinion

>mario good
>sonic bad

This is one of the saddest, most pathetic bait threads of all time.

Why do people reply to these threads? Is it so they can attempt to discuss a game because all other attempts get overshadowed by bait in the catalog? The OP image takes the piss and simplifies the two games and straight up lies.
