Max Payne games have those scenes
There are some in SpecOps The Line
Worth playing for that alone?
MP1-2? Absolutely. Definitive classics that hold up great.
SpecOps? Nah. It's just generic AF up until the big "plot tweest" at the very end. It practically goes all MGS2, if you know what I mean.
FF Type 0 definitely fits the bill.
It gets extra bonkers on NG+.
I'd also throw every single Yoko Taro game on the list. They're definition of the word "madness", and often deal with some wicked apocalyptic phenomenons.
American McGee's Alice.
Shame that the sequel was a rushed piece of chink shit.
Nier Automata has something like that a bit.
>spec ops
Yeah. There's a bunch of pretty neat details throughout the game.
>max payne
Sure. Lot of it is just boring slum appartments and construction yards, though.
Where do you guys buy your physical games of stuff like Silent Hill? All I can think of is ebay and their prices are awful
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
Fleamarkets, the few remaining NOT-Gamest0p vidya stores, and online market sites. Sometimes you get lucky and can find copies of SH1-4 for like 15 to 30€.
But since the games have been out of print, and Jewnami has no interests on keeping the IP alive (not that most folks would even give them any shekels nowadays), these games have become practically abandonware, and thus you should not feel ashamed of ... acquiring them, via other methods:

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
DON'T use W10's own virtual disc app! It will not work.
Don't install under C:\Program Files\ ! This will cause issues.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate using ePSXe or PCSX-R.
Follow the SH2 widescreen fix site's instructions to the teeth, and you should be fine.
For 3 & 4, check the Guide.
>Protips
-Play in the release order.
-Never play below Normal difficulty! Especially in case of #2!
-Replaying them all is recommended; tons of replay value.
-Turn down the ingame Brightness setting, for better gamma & colors!
-Don't try to kill everything that moves, especially outdoors. Leg it, or sneak!
-Turning OFF the flashlight can really help w/ stealth!

FF8 towards the end during time compression.
FF6 after Kefka fucks the world up.
>Where do you guys buy your physical games of stuff like Silent Hill? A
I bought most of my shit day 1.
If you're only now jumping aboard, piracy is the best way.
>he has physical copies of post-4 games
Cringe.
Arkham Knight has like 2 really good ones. One in Oracles tower and one at the end of the game with the joker dream thing. I dont want to spoil much, but they were really cool!
The mad matter has a good one in arkham city but it is really short.
Sorry for being optimistic and ignorant of the future at some point.
The part in DmC where you go into fox news to kill bill barbas was awesome. It was like a dream/virtual reality thing where the news is spinning you trying to survive the illusion as you being a terrorist, which was cool as a story element. It was also cool because it was the best fight visually and gameplay wise, as well as having the best music in the game. That game is hated for some valid reasons, but people never give it credit where it is due.
So much DmC love in this thread the fuck

It's better than 1-4, 5 is the only decent game capcom have ever made
Dont get me wrong, I wasnt complaining. I love that game.
Driver San Francisco takes place mostly in a dream

The intro videos to Kingdom Hearts games are always peak lucid dream sequences with good music. Shit, the opening music video for 3 was better than the rest of the game
i got you wrong, i apologize. i hate that game.
the art is pretty cool but i'm much more of a dmc3se type of guy
Personally, I believe the two can coexist as two versions of a cool series
Underrated game
Pathologic 2 has multiple lucid dream sequences
