Pick up to THREE (3) games that defined gaming in the 2010's. Not necessarily the best games, but the most emblematic of the decade.

Minecraft
Fortnite
Candy Crush

minecraft
fortnite
skyrim

gtaV
doom
maybe the witcher 3
most current pop games would be rounded to 20s

too close to either end

not really

Minecraft
Dark Souls
Skyrim

GTAV
Minecraft (has more of an impact this decade)
The Last of Us

I don’t really like any of these games, but they all had a massive impact.

Sad but true

>realising the entire decade has been fucking awful for vidya

>minecraft
made indie games into a thing, only a few going up to its quality
>skyrim's mods
nothing can destroy it, not even shitty game engine
>GTA V
I don't even play it that much but that's the one game even normies play like they hardcore gamers

I disagree

Portal 2
GTAV
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Dark Souls
Skyrim
Minecraft
>all released in 2011

cringing my pants off

Dark Souls would probably define the 2010's more than GTAV.

These three
>all those minecraft inspired/blatantly ripped off games
>"The Dark Souls of X genre"
>fucking zelda was influenced by this

I'm going to have to bet it on these three. They also released in 2011 (except maybe minecraft?), too.

Fortnite
Breath of the Wild
Grand Theft Auto V

Minecraft (indies, modding, open world meme)
League of legends (esports, the big casual multiplayer game before fortnite)
Whichever mobile game really got that industry going, I read candy crush earlier that's prolly accurate.

GTA V is interesting because it keeps getting consistent, occasionally large multiplayer DLC. 100 million sales, and it has a button to burn $10 on an orbital strike. They recently put in a casino where players have reported losing millions. Minecraft and Skyrim have had similarly long lives, but GTA monetized that shit.

I also feel like Destiny had potential to make this list but squandered it.

minecraft, undertale, gtav(first half of 2010s)/fortnite(second half of 2010s)

Fortnite
The Last of Us
FF15 (for all the wrong reasons, see pic)

UT didn't even originate any games based on itself, let alone any meaningful influence. We have been having rpg maker like games since forever before

Yep. This is it.

Pic makes a point, but that would mean the better example would be some Far Cry (3,4, or 5) as they did far more of the legwork in setting the trends.
