Turn off the ugly depth of field, SSAO, bloom, and motion blur they added.

why the fuck would you buy a game you know nothing about?

So really no ne

Not him but I think SSAO and bloom are quite good looking (did a quick comparison on my own), however it tanks performances.

Because it looked cool and I've heard good things about it

lots of walking and vague descriptions as to what you need to do next. But the story and atmosphere is cool, survival aspect makes it more stressful
please tell us what sort of videogame threads are ok to make

Nothing wrong about that.
I didn't know anything about Rain World beyond looking like a platformer and after some user recommended me that game in a thread I bought it, and surprisingly ended up being one of my favorite games ever.

Fuck you, let us talk about video games in peace.
We let you alone with your weebshit, let us alone with our artsy slavshit.

Because he's not fucking shilling you retard. I'm just asking about this game I just got and you're sperging out like a schizophrenic faggot. Fuck off and stop shitting up my thread.

It's like fallout but with scalpels.

Like skyrim but with guns.

it's cheap as dirt

It's a good obscure game that not many people know. Even if he's shilling which is unlikely you schizoid faggot it's fine.

>what am I in for?
Boredom, Frustration, Suffering, Enlightenment. In that order.
Atmosphere and story are top notch, gameplay is pretty bad, but bearable. There's a lot of reading, but most of it is dialogues, not walls of text. Also, you'll be walking around A LOT, at very slow speed.

In case you don't know the basic premise, you're a doctor coming to a backwater town during the outbreak of a deadly disease. You have 12 days to do whatever needs to be done in order to save the town or not.

As for general tips:
>play the bachelor route first
>buying in stores is usually more expensive than trading with people in the streets
>children usually have the most valuable items to trade
>always loot every trashcan on your way
>keep a permanent save at the beginning of each day
>you can't be everywhere at once and time is short, so plan out in advance where you want/need to go

If you can get invested and power through to the end, good on you. You'll be rewarded with great writing that you'll probably never forget, for better or worse.(and depending on the ending, some really aggressive 2deep4u metanarrative and 4th wall breaking)

If you find the game interesting but hard to get into, I suggest playing Pathologic 2 instead (despite the name, it's a remake). Classic HD is still worth playing, but 2 greatly improves almost every aspect, and is much more of a *proper* game with actual mechanics.

If you hate everything about the game, just drop it. Don't force yourself to play a game you don't enjoy just because Yea Forums said it's amazing.

Attached: 1552838481547.png (1900x2091, 2.29M)

Thanks, user. Very informative post.

discussions about 2 are okay as well I guess?

Does anything else happen when you buy the bull except him talking on the last day?
Also anyone know any more about the possible genre shifts in the other routes?
I had fun with the survival mechanics and am a bit afraid to see them go.

>please tell us what sort of videogame threads are ok to make
Why... Smash threads of course!

please stop getting me to hate smash by being so obnoxious about it. Let people with different taste to you have their games.

Also, is the revolver the worst investment in P2?

About the bull: not really, but you can talk to him sometimes and sing him songs.
About genre shifts: IPL said multiple times that every route will be more different from each other than it was in Classic HD but I wouldn't expect to play fast paced shooter in Bachelor's route or racing game in Changeling's. The whole "genre shift" thing is either bad translation or Dybowski meant bad reception of survival elements from the journalists.

any tips on getting shmowders in 2?

i coincidentally just ran into a kid trading one once, but i had to use it straight away. now i'm fucked.

Classic shilling of course. We're going home, goyim.

1. Dead Item Shop
2. Children's stashes
3. Sometimes little girls have them (remember to always carry at least 6-7 nuts)
4. You can trade it for a leash in the Nutshell on Day 3 or 4, I don't remember
5. There's an event on the playground where you play hide and seek with kids and you can get 2-3 shmowders from them but again I don't remember when it's available

The little girls with short hair trade them for 32 to 35 rep, sometimes they are in the children's crate and you can definitely get one from trading notkin's leash in the nutshell.

Yeah I'm mostly afraid they'd get entirely rid of the survival elements because I immensely enjoyed them. I might be alone with this but I think they're pretty fun

I don't think they'll get rid of them, survival elements are essential part of narrative. We'll be sure when they announce addon on PAX west on friday.

cheers lads

you aren't alone, people who want them removed are just kind of stupid. as evidenced by the posts i'm replying to i can get annoyed at the survival elements, but the whole point is to push through. its a huge fucking appeal of the game.

Shut the fuck up anime

Yeah I hope they'll just build around other mechanics for the other characters so that the Bachelor won't be the Haruspex who can do less. Maybe some different systems for his kind of work. But if I won't have to wade through trash as Dankovsky I'll be a bit disappointed.

Hello, drawfag from the thread last night here. Please keep this one alive until I can ink Dankvosky getting beaten up in the Abattoir and sketch Sticky and Murky as steppe archers. If this thread dies by then I'll post them in the drawthread instead.
Who would you also rather see next for a portrait, Rubin or Lara?

How is this even a question.

hope you refilled your exhaustion bar, khayaala

I could have guessed at the answer, you're right there. So Lara it is

Still gonna paint Rubin after, just to have a portrait of all of Burakh's childhood friends. Rubin is an ass but I respect the man.

Starting 2.
Day 1, Why can't I enter Var's house? Some guy gives me directions, but there's a white X on every door and that's it.

bayarlaa. I barely did, I got just a few hours in. Working on stabilizing my hunger bar through the ancient magic of breakfast rn.

By the way, does any of you know the name of the track that plays in Georgiy Kain's chambers? That song sent chills down my spine, I need it.

It's more enjoyable that way.

i was so irritated by being in such bad shape, that when i first met khan just now, i pulled out a lockpick and went at his neck after he was a bit rude.

yeah you can't hit them. its a shame really.

Important characters or kids?

i assume its kids but not sure.

i know you can kill a kid in the first one, but it was a different time. it was a different time.

Should I play 1 or just go straight to 2?

I think you might still be able to kill kids in general, a friend told me about how he shot one with a shotgun and reputation dwindling down. Might be important characters then.

It's a reimagining, you're fine starting with 2. 1 is more tedious, it helps to know whether you actually like and care for the world through playing that to ascertain if you'd be able to make it through 1.

fuck off zoomer

you're in for a shitty game
even mandalore likes pathologic 2 over the first game and ends up unintentionally shitting all over the first game in his review

play 2 first and if you enjoyed it a lot, play 1. this is what i did, no regrets. you can even play the same character in 1 and its pretty different.

So I finished Pathologic HD's Bachelor and Pathologic 2; became a new personal cult

Is it work playing Haruspex or Changeling in Pathologic 1? It seems Haruspex in 1 and 2 are pretty much the same, while Changeling's path is incomplete in 1, as I've heard.

There are some plot differences, but as far as I know, Haruspex generally is done better in 2. That's what 2 is all about after all, realizing the original vision better.

2 is a full on improvement over the first game

there is no reason to play pathologic 1 unless you're a masochist

>there is no reason to play pathologic 1 unless you're a masochist

I totally disagree. I finished Bachelor in 1 just before Pathologic 2 came out and I much more enjoyed and appreciated the second game because of it.

While weaker gameplay wise, Pathologic 1 has an engrossing atmosphere, great dialogues (obtuse as they are I found them provoking and poetic) and a supreme OST. I see 1 and 2 as different games, not interchangeable; and 1 is very much worth playing as a first time experience. It's also a great opportunity to lean into early 2000 game design and appreciate what these guys did back then

Is it fair to compare Pathologic 1 and 2 to Neon Genesis Evangelion and the rebuilds, as in the sequel-remake thing? Not quality wise.

Haruspex also feels rushed in P1 compared to Bachelor but it's worth playing if you want more of Pathologic. And if you want even more play The Void.

I want to try this game but don't want to support the Russian economy because they might elect drumpf the second time

Russian economy is fucking these devs over, give them some rubels so they aren't forced to focus on mobile shit instead

Odds are that even if this thread gets archived there'll be another one soon.

2 is mechanically better, 1 does still have an appeal though.

I don't think we'll see a game with the tone of writing like the original game for a very long time, if ever.

The writing is a lot more human now in the second game.

Khan becomes bro.
Play 2 first. Then if you're curious tweak the ini [I think that was how to do it] to unlock the Changeling path in the original game and try playing that.

There's little reason to play the original game's Haruspex path after playing 2 - aside from the caverns. That and there's fuck all reason to play the Bachelor's path in general.

>brought
WHY DO SO MANY FUCKING RETARDS MISTAKE BROUGHT AND BOUGHT I SEE IT SO FUCKING MUCH STOP THIS SHIT YOU FUCKING CHILD

path of logic, guys. you get it?

the dialogue in 2 is almost addicting to me. the setting is so interesting and haruspex's replies to their weird shit really improve it.

It could be autocorrect.

Autocorrect wouldn't fix a correctly spelled word.

English might not be their first language you miserable cunt.

English as a second language may do that. At least it's not a "would of" or "their" mistake.

Come on, Bachelor has a different perspective, of course there's reason to play him. At least if you want full thematic cohesion you need to understand all three parts of the character trinity.
2 really intrigued me to play him to figure out more about the Polyhedron and help him on his path to become Daniil Dankovsky- Re-Animator.

I HAVE MET ENGLISH PEOPLE WHO MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE TOO, IT IS DUMBFOUNDING HOW SO MANY PEOPLE MIX THEM UP THEY MEAN COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS.

In the original game you could get the town backstory and meeting the authorities as the Haruspex and you'd get the theatre as Changeling - that covered the important parts. The Bachelor was little more than an extended tutorial.

Themes, though. He's the scientific doctor, the rational one, but still looking for the ultimate medical goal out of his reach, defeating death, barely being in the present to already live in the future. The Haruspex seems to dabble more in faith, tradition, and the connections between past and present. The Changeling is more of a connection even though she's so focused on miracles. Leaving any of them out would be an incomplete picture.
Also the Bachelor arguably has, at least in the beginning, the most relatable goals and perspective. I really want to see what they make with him in 2, and how he'll then interact with the tower especially.
Imo the game is more about themes than lore but both aspects are stellar so I don't mind if anyone cares more about one or the other.

>how he'll then interact with the tower especially
user... you already know what he'll do with his butt plug.

I played through the whole game with a friend, we took over for the other whenever any of us started to feel too drained. Amazing experience being able to discuss everything with someone right as it was happening.

>ywn hand off a controller with a friend on a lazy Sunday ever again
FUCK being an adult and FUCK having responsibilities an' shit.
jelly/10

These are all really annoying mistakes, but have you ever noticed how many people pronounce "are" and "our" the same? That drives me up a wall.

I wouldn't because while the rebuilds have top tier animation and music they miss the point so hard they fly off in the exact opposite direction; assuming Anno even remembers what the point was supposed to be.

better comparison might be the Scott Pilgrim comics vs. the movie; they both have their strengths and weaknesses and are just different enough to be their own things while keeping the same premise and plot beats.

though I think 2 did a much better job marrying gameplay to themes and I can't really think of anything that had a remake that did that.

I'm 28, adult as well Just got really lucky that I had two weeks off at the same time a friend wanted to visit.

I hope you'll get the highest level of comfyness bro you deserve it

i wanted to help her, but peter fucking died. why can't she move in with papa haruspex damn it

Is this a spin on

Attached: tumblr_nwj94my7x91spzj6to1_1280.jpg (744x755, 317K)

Peter survived in my game, but in the end the fucking Saburovs just decide to take her away instead.

2 doesn't carry over any of the Dante's "Comedia" overtones 1st had, moreover, had close to central importance there. Therefore it is not a
>full on improvement over the first game

How did Daniil survive day 11?

Attached: 9d5.png (2688x2688, 173K)

I'd disagree there, I found those overtones. But I haven't played the first game yet so that might be unfair.

I think that happens no matter what. But maybe she'll soften them up a little bit, Katerina's issues stem largely from her whole BARREN WOMB thing, and her husband might work the stick out of his ass if his wife starts easing off the morphine. One big happy drug-addled family.

No, the boomer wojak memes.

>tfw Peter AND both Saburovs were dead in my 1st playthrough
Talking to Grace in Diurnal ending after this was too much for me.

I was seriously considering just letting Katerina die the next time. She might be the only one who gets more peace that way.

>uh what's going on?
>what am i supposed to do?
>what the fuck are the saying?
>*exits game*

>no matter what Katerina Saburov does, she feels pain.jpg
She died in my first playthrough due to getting that unfortunate bug where she just up and fucking disappeared. I like that she got a lot better characterization in 2, even though I'd be hard pressed to tell you what they changed. Maybe just the presentation? The Reflections were a nice way to give you insights into a character; I'd initially thought they were too blunt, straight up dumping a someone's inner thoughts on you, but they handled them extremely well in my opinion.

So I'm playing the Void, and I noticed that you can use an empty palette color to move around the void
Is this an intended mechanic? Is it bad to use it? I'm barely on cycle 6 and I'm already questioning the sister because of it

No, that's intended. You don't have to spend color to move, and if you use a palette with color to do so it doesn't actually use the color. You're basically just indicating where you want to go using the draw mechanic.

though you're not wrong to question the sister

Attached: 1502577795452.jpg (3840x2160, 803K)

>notkin died
I would feel really cheap if i restarted, but fuck

I started playing The Void as well: is it normal that after 1st cycle there's barely any Color in the locations you revisit? Are you supposed to depend only on your garden?

should have visited the dead item shop for shmowders

They didn't have any the two times I have gone to see him

>going only 2 out of 3 times
never gonna make it

I only just finished day four.
How much is the powder?
I know kids trade it for 35.

The first 5 or so cycles you have very little to work with, but after that the stuff starts spawning in pretty large amounts all over the place. You do want to pay special attention to your garden though; try not to use a tree unless you can fill it up all the way for maximum rewards. Having Violet in you (up to a max of 100) will make you spend less to do so, but you probably don't have access to that right now, so just keep that in mind.

Just hang in there for a few cycles and things should become much more plentiful soon. For a while, at least.

At least it wasn't Sticky

They are somewhat expensive but most dead items are worth a lot in the dead item shop so you usually have enough for 1 shamowder and some other stuff every single day as long as you have some broken capsules and dirty bandages lying around

I had three shmowders the entire game and visited the dead item shop twice. Still beat it with "only" seven people dying, and nobody important to Burakh at least.

>having a favourite child
You're a TERRIBLE dad.

Thanks, I think I start to understand how it works. Anyway, I believe it's the most beautiful game I've ever played. I even managed to find secret room which indicates that The Void and Pathologic share the same universe. It reminds me of Drakengard and NieR.

I would restart in an instant if that cute little fuck died

Hold the fuck up, tell me more about this secret room. Where is it?

but yeah, it's absolutely gorgeous in a surreal blasted hellscape kind of way.

Attached: 20190825015015_1.jpg (1600x900, 291K)

how the fuck did the game manage to make me care about these child characters so much? I'd adopt Sticky, Murky and Grace in a heartbeat.

I found the old DVD-Rom version of the Void in my shelf, is this the most "current", will I need any patches, or am I good to just install it and go?

I think it's because literally every single adult is an asshole in some way.

I have no idea, I just think Sticky trying desperately to help me out and be my apprentice the cutest thing.
Kid stole a lot of shit for me too so that makes him even better

There's an optional ez modo patch that I don't recommend because not only does it fuck with the intended experience, it apparently makes things harder near the end of the game due to spoilery reasons. So no, you're good to install and go.

Attached: 20190825015313_1.jpg (1600x900, 254K)

surprises are fun

Sure. In the last thread someone said they found something to hate in everyone and I found that funny since oddly enough I found something to love in everyone. I don't really hate a single character in the game, I feel something for all of them.

In one of the first locations, the one with the tower. Look down and on the right side you will see a platform you can jump on.

>not hating the cringeling

Good writing and characterization

Not him, but there's one secret room in Yani's chamber, and another one you can access in the first mines by dropping down to a ledge.
I thought they were just Easter eggs, rather than indicating that the games share the same universe. Then again, with IPL anything goes.

I don't hate her, I pity and distrust her.

>Sticky helps out exactly once in the entire playthrough, the rest of it is him just telling you that you are a doctor and you should know
>Murky and Grace are basically normal cute anime girls archetypes made by russians
I don't see why people wank the child characters so hard, they are nothing special

Neat. I'll check it out next time I play.
There's an easter egg I found that I have no idea what it's a reference to, but in one of the gardens (I think the one in Ire's chambers? it's roughly the same map as the one in Sister Tutorial's chambers but it's got a big wrought iron decorative thingy in the center), if you go to the right side of the area and try to peek over the side, there's a bright green glowing...something. No idea what it's a reference to, but it's definitely not something you're supposed to find.

Attached: 20190825013252_1.jpg (1600x900, 225K)

My bad, it was Ole's chamber, not Yani.
And that's Twyre growing in the bathtub, not weed.

Attached: secret chamber.jpg (3840x2160, 2.01M)

Compare those to the children in any other game

Do you have a screenshot?

Nah not yet, all the screenshots I have right now are from my current playthrough and I haven't quite gotten there yet. Planning on grabbing one though, maybe some expert detectives can figure out what the hell it is. I suspect it's some obscure russian meme, but who knows.

Attached: 20190825011401_1.jpg (1600x900, 248K)

>normal cute anime girls archetypes
You need to take a year a two away from the internet if eccentric or autistic children are just "cute anime girl archetypes" to you

It's not as much as they do as it is the way their personalities are shown to be. They're not written in the clishee "innocent child you have to like because child" way, they already have developed dreams, fears and personalities and feel like they gravitate to you because they genuinely just somehow like you and want you to like them in return.
Every character in every story can be reduced down to an archetype, but how much sense does that make in the end?

It also helps there's none of that typical forced "here is your token small child, you love them very much" introduction; Sticky starts off being a little invasive gremlin and Murky is a deliberately unhelpful autist who wastes your time (but gets you a shitton of herbs) and it takes a couple days to realize oh wait, that's how actual kids act. Because they're kids, not tiny disposable plot devices.

The dialogue options with sticky going from gremlin to house imp to familiar gave me a heartattack from how sweet they were

lovely

It gives you a ton more color to use in the early stages, and using a ton of color essentially makes the world die faster. Ends up shaving off about 2-5 cycles off the entire game if I remember correctly. And that's not to mention the likelihood that you're going to ruin gardens and spawn predators way faster if you've got all that color to swing around.

buy the bull

What's the deal with hugging Lara. Why can't we hug Stakh, he fucking needs that!

Rubin is an idiot

Whisper sweet nothings into his ear while he sleeps, that's as good as you're gonna get.

How do you say Burakh?
I'm talking about the end of the word, is it simply k and the h doesn't matter, or does it sound like in arabic with the kh sound?

So am I...

kh = h

I think "kh" is meant to sound like Russian "х".

Like a Scotsman saying "OCH" Or like a french R, it's guttural.

This, some characters (likes Rubin) just have a softer inflection.

>Only ever played bachelor in 1 so I can't tell if character differences are in between games or if they're treating me different because of who I'm playing

Attached: Maria2.png (1024x900, 404K)

Open google translate, set language to Polish, type in "burach" and play sound.

Rubin goes moe-moe at the station the last day after you tell you NEED HIM.

Hold the middle/base of your tongue against the back of your throat and breathe out. Like a more drawn-out "k" noise, a bit more rattly.

Thanks!

Both; each character has radically different stories, and uncovers different details about the world to skew your perspective, and the remake turns quite a few characters on their heads.

Hell, pretty much everything about the sand pest is overhauled; and the biggest cunt in his original story turns out to be a bro who thought he was doing the right thing.

Is it Зolish name?

He was called "Artemiusz Burach" in Polish translation of Pathologic 1. "Burach" doesn't mean anything but "burak" (somewhat similar) means beetroot or someone rude.

You aren't cub anymore, Burrakhh. Time to grow up.

I see, thanks

So.. Lara can't cook, huh. Seems like no one in this town capable of cooking.

What a great wife Lara would be. Piece of bread and raw fish for every day.

Except she can sew your clothes and look after the kids, what else do you need?

Artistic nudes are a normal thing, high art is full of nudes. A naked person doesn't automatically mean porn. Thinking otherwise paints you more as a pervert.

You can both learn together as you put your arms around her and feel the blue woollen scarf tickle your jaw. She fidgets as she concentrates on stirring a soup she is trying to make. She turns and smiles as you encourage her. As the smells of herbs and spices mix with the scent of her hair, your moment of happiness is interrupted by a PFFFTTTTRRRUUUUPPP sound as the Bachelor shits himself upstairs as his slack, polyhedral buttplug ravaged arse empties itself again.

Pal, I was talking about myself

How will the inside of the Polyhedron look in the remake? I'm interested in the Changeling's perspective.

>Hell, pretty much everything about the sand pest is overhauled; and the biggest cunt in his original story turns out to be a bro who thought he was doing the right thing.

Please elaborate, I don't mind spoilers for 1 at all.

PPFFFFFFF HAHAAHA

In the original: The sand pest is caused by the Polyhedron piercing the Udurgh and causing a blood clot that causes its blood to stagnate and pollute the earth with the disease

In the remake: The sand pest is the wrath of the Udurgh after being pierced by the Polyhedron, and is made by it to wipe out people who have becomes absorbed in the concept of "self" and return them to a hiveminded animalistic state. Removing the tower in the second would kill the bull god, whereas in the original it was necessary to heal it

As for the specific character mentioned The head of the abbatoir kills Isidor in both games, but in the first it was to usurp him, in the second it was to put him out of his misery since he intentionally got infected by the sand pest.

I like these threads and all the anons around here.

Attached: odongh.jpg (1000x736, 162K)

i wouldn't mind having polyhedron shaped buttplug. what a classy merch could it be

Alright, thank you. I think the sand pest might be handled better in the second then, since it makes the moral choice way less straightforward. I'm not sure if what we learn in the second is fully true either, I think that might just be the kin's perspective onto what is happening, concerning the position of self. I like how the split isn't as obviously tradition versus progress here but more ambivalent.

I want bachelor route so bad Yea Forumsros

Same way Mirror's Edge: Catalyst is a full on improvement over Mirror's Edge.

What if it's gonna suck ass?

Like the Bachelor.

Pathologic 1 IS essentially Bachelor, like it or not. His storyline is the entire reason remake even EXISTS.

>Also the Bachelor arguably has, at least in the beginning, the most relatable goals and perspective.
I really disagree
Haruspex is literally "i want to find the asshole who killed my dad", in this situation i would try to do the same
Bachelor wants to kill Death itself, thats not something relatable people are doing

Moreover, Haruspex' storyline in the original was by far the most inconsequential one (Changeling's was shoddier and even more shoddily translated originally, but her last two days were a huge bonus). Here, they artsied it up with fluff so it da pwerry and feewy. Okay. Good for them. Completely irrelevant to what mattered in the original Pathologic though.

>pwetty

Pathologic 1 "sucked ass" and I enjoyed it

>most inconsequential
>The one who actually finds a cure unlike the Bachelor who just keeps getting dabbed on

>relatable goal
>defeating death is more relatable then "who the fuck murdered my father?"

>there are "people" who want daniil's route before clara's
Explain yourselves

Attached: 1471686591507.png (234x278, 66K)

Cringeling a shit

Not him but we'll all face death at one point, unlike someone murdering your father, so yeah, it's more relatable I think.

Bachelor is cool but not as cool as the based Menkhu and has a good story, Clara fucking sucks but has a better story. Bachelor has more going for him then that ugly bitch.

You see zoomer, before your time, people would sometimes buy a game because it looked cool. Crazy, huh?

Not everyone is trying to find a way to literally defeat death.

but thats a point

Not everyone has a degree either. Hrmm...

Attached: 1558924148123.jpg (1068x2140, 392K)

who the fuck cares about cringeling and her alf-assed route?

>alf-assed route
That's precisely the point, bachelor already has a route. Give me the full-meta and a handful of krokodil now.

>Not him but we'll all face death at one point
That is incorrect.
Death is unknowable and non-existent. What we call "death" is simply a made-up definition for a concept that we are unable understand, since there is not a single human being who has experienced and managed to tell us how it feels like. And no, dying for a few seconds is not the same as encountering death as the true noumenon that it is, because that's what death is - something beyond our realm of perception.

And if it's outside of the inner working of our world, we might as well treat it like everything else. I mean you're not afraid of "life" or "freedom" or "god", which are all noumenons as well, so why should you think of death as something that has to be "faced" at some point? It's simply yet another incomprehensible concept of the realm beyond out understanding, so if you're going to speculate about it anyway, why not speculate that it is in fact no big deal at all?

Attached: swedish_chef.jpg (600x600, 58K)

I mean think about it. Ask yourself: does Haruspex' Pathologic 2 campaign have the same "killer" quality Bachelor's Pathologic 1 campaign had?

And the answer, sadly, is that it clearly does not. And that's the whole reason the game didn't fly with the reviewers, even after difficulty patch. The bottom line is simply "Uh, okay, lotsa weird stuff, fuck am I here for again?". It's a meandering blob, there is no nerve, no rhythm, no backbone, no hook. IT IS SIMPLE INCOMPARABLY WORSE PACED. It is not EXCEPTIONAL in the way Bachelor's campaign was, making you close your eyes in regard to all the mechanical jank and be like "kay, got the gist, what happens next?!". At best, it can be said to be "very good". I think there is a hefty difference between "very good" and "exceptional".

Yes, Marble Nest is a thing. Yes, Marble Nest was extremely promising (and even that - absolutely not in the "completely supersedes P1" way!). Doesn't really mean anything in regard to yet-nonexistent Bachelor's campaign.

Yeah, I dont. Degrees are a meme.

LMAO IMAGINE BEING THIS user

So I was playing the void and I found this room by accident, pretty cool.

Are you that autist always bitching about 2?
>Game journos didn't like it so 2 isn't as good
You can not be fucking serious.

That's an interesting perspective, thanks user.

Besides are you not dying right now? You from 1 year ago is a completely different person. His cells had already degraded and died by the time he became "you" that you are now. You have been dead hundreds or millions time over, yet you weren't afraid of it before?
What is there to fear, but transcending into something other than your current vessel? Your mind has remained the same after your 1 year old self died, after your 1-month self died, after your yesterday self died as well, so why fear the concept that you experience at every waking moment of your life, since it will do nothing to you? The only thing that'd change would be your perception of time and space, since they are based purely on your senses of touch, sight, hearing, etc, but then again, who is to say that in the end you will not see all things from the viewpoint of eternity itself, no longer bound by flesh that limits you to those senes?

The music in the game is too good for this world

Plague is magic

You know who I think can't be serious? That idiot who always goes like "no reason at all to play P1 now that P2 is a thing" with le experte aura to him. In order to claim this you have to either completely fail to understand P1, or understand enough of it to get the idea you dislike it. First case you are in no position whatsoever to mentor anyone on it, second case you are simply and blatantly imposing your fucking tastes, knowing full well, there was a buttload of people who loved Pathologic 1 for what it was, BEFORE the retranslation BTW, and without them, Pathologic 2, kickstarter project it is, wouldn't fucking happen in the first place.

And yes, gaming press that was here and there rediscovering this game and making a little unjustly forgotten darling of it, absolutely did chip into making that kickstarter funding a possibility.

I'm sorry, I think it's actually refreshing instead of depressing.
All noumenons exist only to limit you, to give your life meaning as it is right now, but there is no way to say for sure that more of them don't lie beyond those that we know. Perhaps the things we fear or revere now are but a phase in out real life cycle, perhaps our birth is not really the beginning.
What if your birth was not predetermined by fate, nor was it a result of causality? What if it was just another step on your way to grasp the truth?

It gives me hope, knowing that there are greater things out there, compared to which our vague understanding of life, death, god, world, reality and others are but afterthoughts. Perhaps we are something greater, and being in this world is just a temporary stay on our way to places unknown.

Attached: 1566755002974.png (600x800, 66K)

Skipping them when you can is almost always better.

Remember one thing, though, as a good advice.
You freedoms end when another human freedoms begin.
But the boundary of your own freedom is endless.

Attached: male-chef-kissing-fingers-DW15DW.jpg (1300x1123, 118K)

Saying it like that sure sounds more reasonable and not as stifling.

Did I miss something, or is the only way to save Murky on day six is letting yourself get infected?

Attached: 1566526398220.jpg (239x273, 22K)

There's no "saving" here, actor. Only death.

I really don't know, user, I'm just trying to help, I'm sorry if I'm being rude, it's all I know :c
Sometimes it's nice to realize that you are a transient being, so you can only give meaning to your life yourself.
Despite being in constant flux, you are still you, because ultimately you shape the world based on your own view of it, no matter how contradictory it may be. And if you are burdened by knowledge of things that are incomprehensible to you, the world makes it so you gradually become ignorant of them.

I really wanna play the game for the beautiful artistic experience but I can't take the fucking horrendously frustrating clunky confusing messy gameplay. I know about the super Mario 2 meta twist bullshit, roughly, but I really wanna enjoy the game. I know the suffering and clunky unfun shit is part of the game because this is more of an art piece than a game but I can't take it bros.

Attached: 1566567332182.png (540x472, 199K)

Only clunkyness comes from the combat and it honestly isn't that bad. And you shouldn't be fighting every nigga you see anyway
The only real hard stuff is making sure to keep your food and water meters down.
As long as you aren't stupid and wasteful with your stuff you should do fine.
One on the other hand...

Pathologic 2 is not clunky (only slightly in combat, but combat is avoidable 95% of the time). You're probably thinking about the origibal game

Thanks, you're helping I think.

Attached: 1539621777666.png (300x300, 8K)

Just remember that your brain is perfectly aware of when it's dying and will fill you with feel-good chemicals to make sure you don't panic over passing away. It might also potentially, since our perception of time is ruled by our mind, extend your last second of this life into what essentially is eternity and give you the afterlife you unconsciously believe in or hope for

Attached: 1562442461223.jpg (1080x1080, 153K)

user pls no :c

Attached: 1540156470818.png (450x501, 187K)

Don't sweat the small stuff. Some people may argue that the moment some of your memories disappear, you cease being who you are and become a different person altogether, since the amount of your experiences and memories basically determine who you are, so losing even one of them would essentially mean dying in some sense.
Some also argue that you both exist and don't exist at all, since you are part of everything around you, and everything is part of you at, essentially rendering you everything and nothing at the same time.

People have been debating these things for millenia, some even go as far as argue the very language itself.
I mean, when you say "this is a real gun", you actually mean that the object you're holding is just different from a toy gun and is in fact a loaded firearm, not arguing the very definition that the gun you're holding exists at all.

That's just basic philosophy, it exists to make you question stuff.

Attached: live_slow.png (891x896, 500K)

Personally, I find it very comforting that we have in-built programming that makes the process easier for us to handle. I think it's some of the same underlying mechanisms that also makes us feel very uncomfortable if we start thinking about death or nonexistence. It's a friendly reminder from our brain that we shouldn't concern ourselves with it because it's impossible for us to solve without kicking the bucket. Live life, user. Life life and love those who mean something for you

I'm not sure if I should thank you or curse you for making me think about all that stuff, it makes me feel extremely bad when I let my mind drift on these subjects.
Goodbye and good night, it's getting late here and I need some sleep after that. Even though it probably won't help :c

Attached: kindoftiredthatsleepwontfix.jpg (250x180, 4K)

Sleep well, user. As said, it's a completely natural thing to feel bad when thinking about these topics. We might have built spaceships and gone to space but we're still animals at our core. We've just managed to think the thought "hey, one day I'm not gonna be here anymore" but no animal is meant to think about that because it serves no purpose really to think stuff like that and therefore we feel bad when thinking about it because our brain is telling us to quit it and think about something that it can actually understand instead

Another thing I often struggle with in games which stresses me out is managing resources and making sure I'm not missing stuff or getting bad endings
