The game really spiked in difficulty for the last couple bosses. Wasted all my health kits then got a checkpoint so now I have to beat him with only one healthbar. Was breezing through normal before this.

People will pretend you're deficient but everyone and their dog was getting their ass handed to them by armstrong on a first playthrough because he's a fucking animal.
You just gotta keep going man, learn the I-frame timing Only for him to REQUIRE you to do it perfectly in the DLC
Oh and Sam's sword isn't upgraded like your old one, so if you want Armstrong to stay difficult don't upgrade it if you NG+, too many retards play hard NG+ and act like Hard was easy when they went through normal first
when he chucks scrap at you you get more health kits
Really it's just that the game was a breeze and I was able to be loose with the mechanics, now I have to git gud. Him and Sundown are the only times I died (and with Sundown it was only once). Took me way too long to figure out yellow means unblockable.
That's what's killing me, I never learned how to free aim with the sword so angles kill me but good to know there's hope once I finally destroy one of those things.
Armstrong will fuck your shit up because it's really the point where it says "you better be good at all the mechanics we've taught you, all at the same time" where the previous bosses still have you some leeway or only really required specific skill to best
Here's 2 tips.
If you aim your blade mode and hit the attack button it will go where you aim on your first tap
If you RIPPER right before you blade mode it significantly decreases blade mode consumption
Didn't it spawn health kits in The second phase?
Only if you cut the debris he threw, if you just dodged it you got nothing
Dont be a pussy ass bitch and just dodge the scrap by sprinting to the right then beat him without medkits
