You don't need to be good in order to clear T1 or any vanilla raids for that matter. You definitely don't need to be good at figuring out novel tactics, organization (planning gear distribution depending on the setup you intend to use on the toughest bosses, developing custom addons, etc), having the mentality to endure hundreds of wipes or any other factors that would ordinarily make for a good guild.
T1 firsts will be claimed by whatever organization manages to get enough warm bodies attuned (for BWL and beyond the firsts will be decided by minutes or seconds and will be essentially random). This might not even be any guild but a pug, or >50% pug organized by some guild (the advantage of capable guilds would be the ability to start clearing with less than half a raid while pugs would want closer to a full raid). Basically, it's about who sleeps the least and people who don't play full-time aren't in the running at all.
I've just finished my first 30 days in XIV and I have to say its the biggest waste of money I have ever spent on a video game.

The abilities aren't even interesting either, they are designed to be strictly used one after another in a VERY specific order. So specific that your next abilitiy will light up with an outline on the HUD/Action bar.
Everyone is ERPing and pretending to be girls CONSTANTLY. They erp in the general channels, they erp in your FC channel(I joined 7 different FCs and they were all ERPing non-stop).

I haven't wasted any time on professions, but if the rest of the game is any indicator its probably not good.
The leveling is absolutely the worst experience I have ever had in a video game.
There are like 5 different types of quests you do, then they just repeat with different flavor text, you do these same 5 quests 1000 times each(I am not joking).

Turns out warriors can get pretty decent levelling speed if 3 warriors, a priest, and a paladin/shaman dive into a dungeon and start cleaving it.

Take a moment when your out in the world to give a player a buff, drop a heal on them, help them kill that mob they are struggling with and even ask if they need a bag when you start to go from 6 slots to 8 slots.
So many new players will be lost, frustrated or confused with this new MMO and its our job as veterans to help them and show them what kind of community a real MMO has, help them realise that the magic of classic is not only the game but the community as a whole.
