The thing about GNB is that it has to work harder to get its optimal DPS. Well, I say that it but it's really more just a matter of cramming as many explosions into your window as possible and getting your DoTs in before no mercy burns off, but still, it's just slightly harder than "don't cap resources, dummy"

The story, the Final Fantasy aesthetics, the whimsy, the music, and some of the jobs are really fun to play. It also fulfills a particular itch for me by allowing me to level every job on one character.

It's nice that he doesn't buy into the whole game competition, just play whatever and have fun.
Its why I like his whole "unsubscribe between content patches" thing, its nice to see an honest dev who wants you to enjoy the game but not to the point where you burn yourself out, instead of other companies that would try to hold your time hostage and force you to keep playing so you don't fall behind.

Do I take the lalapill?

Consider rampart during the first party soak, then use Camoflauge as rampart falls off just for auto attack mit. You should use Heart of light near the end of the cast of the first and third Shadowflame so it covers the shadowflame, 2 autos and entropy. Use Nebula for every odd Shadowflame and rampart + heart of stone for every even one. Ideally you can move Heart of light to the tank busters you don't use Nebula. You can also use Rampart and camo for autos if you plan a Superbolide anywhere.

Also seriously consider using a CD for pre quietus. The boss does like 14 autos attacks and mitigating them helps healer DPS a lot.

For e1s DRK is probably the best tank in the game. Blackest night is the only tank CD that can adequetly mitigate darknes damage from Dimensional shift and Eden's Gravity.

Spear is two major hits. You can just use one tank invul for it instead of having both tanks pop individual CD's. You can then put more CD's on the bleed and put less stress on the healers.

I've had some 17k (like 15.5k rdps) runs on BLM without a DNC in the party, so I can imagine a MNK can do the same thing right now. He's likely not talking about the opener.

Use a tank invul on spear of paradise and dont voke until after the damage. The co-tank then holds the boss until second spear and he uses his invul, then you voke it and use your invul on the third spear. That's it. Pop other CD's on other tank busters.

Are you crazy? DPS are incredibly unbalanced, that is common knowledge at this point. You have BLM, MNK, and DRG on top which are so powerful that even mediocre players on those jobs easily out DPS the rest. You literally are not going to clear with a RDM/NIN/DNC/BRD comp unless multiple party members are parsing high purple. Meanwhile a BLM/MNK/DRG comp can clear with ease even if the players are mediocre especially if you throw a DNC into the mix for that sweet sweet 15k BLM damage.

Balance in this game right now is terrible I can change to BLM with my RDM gear throw on some spell speed materia and go into any savage fight as BLM for the first time and easily beat the numbers i put out on RDM simply because it shits out so much more damage

I have a three phys ranged comp in my static right now and we're clearing just fine. Only reason we haven't beaten Titan is just due to a lack of time and scheduling.
What shadowbringers did is what it should have always been. Jobs who focus on pDPS put out tremendous numbers and jobs that focus on rDPS put out less numbers, but still enough to clear. All that is needed right now are minor tweaks for phys ranged. I will be happy to admit that the recent MNK buffs were too much though.
RDM has always meant to be a weaker training wheels job. You're supposed to make the switch to the other casters once you no longer need those raises.

I actually did a test mostly because at first I didn't care about the game. I got perma-banned for bugging the gil counter. I haven't even been banned from teleport mining. Also i've been using model swaps since 2013 and they haven't mentioned anything.

It would be a lot to type, but it has to do with the process of posting an item on the market board and locking certain memory addresses at certain times, and it would register that you sold the item but the gil would be on the retainer, and you would buy it from yourself at the same time. ALSO the retainer gil memory address is still bugged (wrong memory type).

And here's where the lack of class balance comes in. A "shit damage" BLM will still beat a red mage. Look at the numbers. DPS balance is fucked right now. If you know the fight and keep the fire4s rolling then there is no reason you would ever get beat by a red mage

The problem with testing this is that there are 2 memory addresses associated with the players that are doing scans when you open certain menus so if you sone and the scan is invalid your client will report it to the server. This can be avoided by crashing the client after you perform the dupe, however.

You can't do only 8k on BLM at lvl80 in savage gear unless you're dying to mechanics or don't know the fight. That guy would do even worse as rdm.

There are only so many rolea to fill, and what's meta will always make itself apparent. Unless RDM gets more damage or utility than SMN it will always be subpar. And even then, if that happened, SMN would just take the spot of "that shitty caster nobody wants right now".
All the classes in this game play differently but their outputs are almost completely homogenized.
MMO devs these days are too blind to realize that deep and signifcant differences to how classes perform is crucial for player identity. They spend too much time listening to and implementing feedback from the official forums complaining about how unbalanced things are and demand that any class with a shiny toy shares that shiny toy with everyone else.

I botted most of my classes to level cap and had another bot doing gathering all day everyday for years and never even got a suspension. Only reason I even got a bot in the first place was ironically because I was sick of competing with bots.

It's not MMO devs but tab target combat in general. Any MMO with tab target combat will inevitably develop a meta where certain classes are desired, because having a GCD at all, no matter if it's 2.5 seconds or 1 second, is a huge limit to player skill to begin with.

Report histories get wiped periodically because they are old and closed tickets. But the strike is never gone from your account.

The strikes are always on your account. Strike 1 is either Warning or Caution, strike 2 is temporary suspension (temp ban), and strike 3 is you're permanently banned.

Most of every online game in the west right now can save your password with no issues and it's up to the player to make sure they are not a braindead retard and keep their shit secure. Yet then comes xiv and it's like "dude we don't trust you with your own password lmao, it's shit but it's for your own good :^)". Not being able to recognize your computer for one-time password though a lot of other games can. And then there's shit like not letting you sub again if you still have days left on your current sub. The whole glamour, dresser and plate system being entirely prehistoric and not fitting what a game should be capable of pulling off in 2019 at all. Needing to authenticate yourself when wanting to look at your own account info even though you're already logged in. Needing different websites and needing to manually log in each of them for doing different things instead of having one global unified system.

The list goes on and on. This game is great but under the table there are so many things that simply don't fit in current year. Have you noticed how many times Yoshi answers a LL question with "we can't do that for technical reasons"? It's like their game code is so far lost that implementing something a little bit outside the box is going to take an entire semester of work or something.

It's all about forming habits and making decisions based on opportunity costs.

My advice would be to try to gather everything yourself to make items at first. After a while you'll develop assessments on what is worth your time gathering and what is something you're better off buying off the market board.

Just one example is in my case, I'm spiritbonding gathering gear to convert into materias so I'm always getting timed nodes. Since gathering those items are a byproduct of me achieving another objective, those are worth my time gathering and I get to craft the 450 gear to sell to make my time spiritbonding materia even more worthwhile.

Goetia mats, on the other hand, I would have to go out of my way to run content for which could easily take double the time depending on what shitters I get matched up with so I think that's not worth it and just take the loss and buy them off the marketboard. It does set your profits back a little but the time you save can make up for it.

If you're just starting out a good place to start is to make alkahests. They all require the same goetia mat and only vary by aethersands and a specific herb, all of which retainers can gather while you do other things.

Remember to check cross world markets for prices until you get to a point where you can't be bothered to transfer worlds to save gil.
