First was on point, especially after the patches. Bring on the Metroidvania parade.
When should we expect a second Castlevania collection?
Other urls found in this thread:
Have we any indication this did good to begin with?
No
I don't see a second collection happening. Konami seems like they are too lazy to port anything past Symphony of the night.
I'd agree with you, but IIRC someone messed up and the original page for this collection explicitly referred to it as "the first one". Chances are something was already in the works.
If they're bothering to release that crappy looking new Contra I can't imagine they'd leave this off the table
It stayed on the eShop charts for like 2 months
Oh boy ANOTHER Switch portbegging thread.
what the heck needed to be patched
If this had Rondo of Blood or even Dracula X I would buy it. Why the hell were they left out but Bloodlines and Super Castlevania Bros 4 made the cut?
Go away, niggerbrain.
>out on all platforms
>”HUUUUURRRRRRRRR SWIIIIIITCH!!”
This kind of retardation isn’t even funny to laugh at. It’s just sad.
Because that would diminish the sales of the Rondo or Blood/Symphony of the Night combo on PSN they released a few months prior. Bloodlines is great considering it was stuck on the Genesis.
They should have dropped the Gameboy and maybe Kid Dracula games for Dracula X though.
They were going in chronological order, if a second volume indeed happens they'll likely be there
Neat bait. Here's a (You).
>Rondo or Blood/Symphony of the Night combo on PSN
I still don't understand why that didn't come out on Switch or Xbox.
Most likely game roster
*Rondo of Blood
*Symphony of the Night
*Dracula X
*Vampire Killer MSX
*Castlevania Chronicles
*Kid Dracula for Game Boy
*Legends
*Getsu Fuuma Den
And yes, PS4 owners will be made to double-dip. Konami couldn't care less about Requiem since they're not making a cent off it.
it would suck for the DS games
i would hate to use a digital thing for drawing symbols in DoS.
and most of the games outside of fucking SotN, WHICH IS ALREADY IN ANOTHER COLLECTION AND WHY THEY WONT GIVE IT TO YOU FAGGOTS, is that most of the games are shit.
AOS is better than the other 2 GBA games
OOE is better than POR and DOS, those are about the same 7.5 to me.
fuck the 6th gen games
fuck the 7th gen games
>outside of fucking SotN, WHICH IS ALREADY IN ANOTHER COLLECTION
Irrelevant. Konami will make you buy it again and this time, they'll be getting your cash and not Sony.
I believe it's an exclusive because Konami made some sort of partnership for Sony. I think I heard something about Sony specifically developing Requiem on Konami's behalf, but I can't find a good legit source to back that up.
Maybe sometime next year. I lowkey have hopes for an October release this year, but given that we haven't heard anything about it other than the small slip-up makes me doubtful. I do think we'll eventually get a second collection, though.
Better be Playstation version of SotN.
What about a "Classic" 3Dvania collection that includes: Legacy of Darkness, Lament of Innocence, Curse of Darkness, and Judgement(To boost game count).
Bonus points for Rebirth since it's lost forever(officially).
The only mediocre ones were Circle of the Moon and Harmony of Dissonance. The rest are quite good.
I have never played Castlevania, is the collection worth picking up on Switch?
judgement solely for replay value
i had so much fun just fucking around with that game in college when it came out with friends.
It's a good way to get immediate access to a bunch of classic Castlevania games, and on a handheld to boot. Worth it imo,
It would have to be a composite version of both N64 games, basically the C64 version with the LoD characters added to it.
Does the requiem collection on PS4 have trophies? And does it have that ugly makeover that grandia collection got on switch?
When the fuck is the collection coming out physically for switch?
lords of shadow collection when
>Switch
>Includes Castlevania The Adventure, Castlevania II Belmont's Revenge, and Kid Dracula on cart with the rest requiring a download.
Hopefully never and they bury the fact that they existed.
It does have trophies. Not sure what you mean about makeover, though. All I know is that they're literally straight ports of the versions from the PSP Dracula X Chronicles.
isn't Megaman the only game to do this? Even Spyro is going to include all the games on the cart whilst PS4 and Xbone had to download the two sequels.
>beating this collection by release date
>already beat 1, 2 and Adventure
>beat 3 with Alucard
>now doing the mage playthrough. I forget her name
Holy shit Alucard was fucking ez mode. I was not prepared.
Hell yeah. Already at full price it's good value for what you get. The first Castlevania, the third, Castlevania IV, Bloodlines, Kid Dracula...
Easy? Most will say that Alucard is the hardest character to win with due to his weak attack, giant hitbox, and heavy heart consumption for bat-form.
You can get a physical RE4 that comes with download codes with 5 and 6.
So basically it's just Capcom doing this with collections...and Bayo, albeit that one's considered more of a bonus.
Both Megaman and X plus Resident evil revelations collection and Hollow Knight Physical(1 DLC is digital only), but most aren't willing to shill out for bigger carts there's also Wolfenstien and LA Noir and require an online download.
It uses Sony's PSP emulator that they made for the Parappa, Patapon, and Locoroco "remasters".
The 3Dvanias are grossly underrated desu
So they look as close to the originals as possible? Like the grandma collection took off the pixelated look but I think the games look so much more better with the pixels.
Stop giving cucknami money.
They're still pixelated, if that's what you mean. Maybe a little more so due to being PSP ports.
I found his attack to be pretty useful. Good for a few bosses and you can angle it to kill things on floors above you. But the main reason I found Alucard's path easier was you can take massive shortcuts with his bat form. Shortcuts past places I'm now realizing made the levels significantly harder.
Predict the 2nd Collection roster AND rate the games you name
>emulation has slowdown
yikes from me
youtube.com
If you really care. There's screen tearing in Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night isn't pixel perfect to the PS1 original. But honestly $20 is cheap af for both games and a good way to play them on easily accesable modern hardware. They still look good and don't require you to pay several hundred dollars for the most authentic visuals.
Already did here:
In general, it's mostly for the mediocre dregs. Rondo and Symphony will be the main draws, of course (especially for those without Requiem), while Getsu Fuuma Den is pretty much considered part of Castlevania canon by now and so it'll be the surprise import title like Kid Dracula was for the first collection.
>There's screen tearing in Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night isn't pixel perfect to the PS1 original.
Again, they're the PSP versions. You won't be getting them as they were originally released. It's more notable in Symphony as they redid all the dialogue and voice-acting and replaced the end credits theme. On the plus side, Maria is both a boss and playable, but she fights like she did in Rondo instead of being that insane sorceress from the Saturn release.
Guaranteed they'd put both the PS1 dub and the dual audio PSP retranslation on the second collection after they padded out the Contra collection with fucking Probotector instead of adding Shattered Soldier, Neo Contra, or Hard Corps Uprising.
Also the original English VO is unironically better than the redub outside of Richter.
>paying Konami to piss on Castlevania's grave
Yeah, I think not.
Not even a fucking PC remaster of the GBA/DS games.
Not even an official PC port of HoD.
Someone needs to bomb the Konami headquarters.
Are the japanese versions any different? also is Simon's Quest possible to beat without a guide or are the memes true?
English WAD on a hacked Wii connected to a CRT is the ideal way to play Rondo imo if you don't want to mess around with expensive original hardware
Possible, but only if you have the patience of a kid in the 80s with no other new games to play until next Christmas.
Or just like play it on PC, like a not retarded person?
Did they ever fix the audio problems in CV1 in the collections?
>playing old games on an LCD
No thank you lad
Just like use a shader, you fucknigget
I believe they did.
Shaders are meme garbage that look terrible for actually playing. If you're going to play on an LCD just take the raw pixels, at most maybe light scanlines.
If all CV games get put into collections, the second collection will likely be leftover CV classic style games and 2D Metroidvania games (like another user posted).
Collection #3 will be the earlier 3D games.
Collection #4 will be the Lords of Shadow Collection.
I'd expect an SH collection before another CV collection though. Or not, as Konami needs to reverse engineer the games to port them, due to missing source code.
>If all CV games get put into collections, the second collection will likely be leftover CV classic style games and 2D Metroidvania games (like another user posted).
The Metroidvanias will get their own collection. Symphony only gets into Volume 2 because it and Rondo are inseparable.
Oh yeah, you're right.
I also forgot an issue with a Metroidvania collection, that being that every Metroidvania game except SotN was made for a handheld. Is it hard to upscale 2D handheld games, or would Konami just have them be stretched to fit the screen?
>he wants to pay for Roms
What the hell is wrong with you?
>i would hate to use a digital thing for drawing symbols in DoS.
well. julius mode pretty much skipped that already. just have to give to same to Soma
>pay for a collection
>enough interest is shown in the series to warrant a new entry
It worked for Resident Evil with REmake and RE0
I think the real issue would be the touchscreen and dual-screen functions for the DS games. Konami no doubt will insist on not removing them for "authenticity".
I never got around to playing the DS games. Were there too many touch screen functions? Surely they could be supplemented by a menu.
>he wants modern Konami to try and make a new Castlevania
Semen brain
Konami still has all their workers who make good games, they didn't magically disappear when Kojima left.
They also outsource a lot of projects now, like ZoE2.
In addition, they have proven good games can come out, with the already mentioned ZoE2 remake and Super Bomberman R.
Dawn of Sorrow had the most of it. You had to use the touchscreen to draw seals in order to kill bosses. Portrait of Ruin had a whole gameplay mode where you use the touchscreen to attack enemies.
Order of Ecclesia didn't really use it, but a couple of special attacks did require it.
>full remakes with additional content and are very different from the originals vs nes roms
Don't be delusional now. Didn't work for Mega Man, not gonna work for a less popular series. If anything, they're making the collections because they might already be working on a new one.
>full remakes
REmake and 0 were literally just HD Remasters.
...
You can mod the drawing shit out, it's what I did when I finished it a few weeks ago.
Only in Dawn of Sorrow since it has the Magic Seal system. They're very difficult to perform without a touchscreen, enough where you need to play rom hacks that automatically finish them if you plan to emulate it. PoR and OoE 2nd screen are glorified stat/map screens similar to something you'd find on a Wii U game.
Konami won't, because that would go against the idea of playing it exactly like it was on the original system.
Literally all they have to do is port Harmony of Despair with all DLC and full multiplayer support and it will sell like hotcakes
Not hard, but it will be VERY pixelated since the original resolution is a whopping 240x160. This is what an integer scale would look like at 1080p.
I just want Castlevania Adventure Rebirth. I want all the rebirth games, because they're all good, but they're all forgotten on Wiiware's graveyard.
They should just do a Rebirth collection to knock out all 3 rather than include them individually in other collections.
Considering the current collection has Gameboy games I doubt GBA games would bother anyone interested .
And at 4K, 13x the original resolution on both axes
will be interesting to see where the 64 castlevanias end up
These games are already on the Wii U and they look fine on a tv.
