Is there any reason for this to even exist at this point? From the leaks we know it's not even going to compete with the best GPUs out there, sony has plans to release their games on PC and it's ugly as fuck. Who is this even for? Like why would you ever get this over a PC?

It's a device that's optimized specifically for gaming, and developers know the hardware specifications to base their games on.
There's a sense of relief that comes with playing a game the way it's """"meant to be played"""" by the devs. So if the game plays like shit, you know for a fact that it's THEIR fault, not your machine's fault.
You don't have to worry about finding the right drivers and running benchmarks and tweaking setting to get the optimal balance of image quality to fps, you just put the disk in and go.
Many people are willing to sacrifice a little bit of potential image quality for that kind of convenience.

This is an user who never spent 2 hours going through windows settings trying to get any controllers working on the PC version of cuphead.
You have to dig through the program folders to find the source file, get the properties window through there and make it recognize the controllers through that.
Otherwise the game won't realize anything plugged in and just keep it locked in singleplayer keyboard controlls. There's no in game settings or settings through windows arcade preferences to make it work otherwise.
That's on Microsoft and whoever was in charge of that shitty port, though. When it does work, Playing games with a properly customized controller on PC is pretty chill. Especially since they allow splatoon controls in FPS games that way.

Steam has drivers for controllers that automatically work. It also works with non-steam games because steam lets you add whatever game you want to the launcher. What are you talking about?

It's not as bad as early XboxOne and it's controls that were designed specifically for Kinect (random menu windows were easy to open with your controller DURING GAMEPLAY, but closing them was more complicated and ambiguous, because they assumed people would be using kinect gestures to close them or some shit. it was fucking frustrating.)

What a dumb nigger. You only needed the steam overlay. Install steam. Add cuphead to steam. Hit big screen mode on steam. No keybkard or mouse needed. Ad as many controller profiles many already done by other anons on the game devs. Ps4 and switch controller works just fine on cuphead lad.

Working through steam didn't help it. We ran into even more trouble with that because for god knows what reason steam thought the two seperate controllers were the same device.
