Dwarf is definitely better than gnome or nightelf but not by a large margin so it's not a big deal. Dwarf is similar to undead in that it has a very strong and useful racial but it's situational and nothing crazy.

Human and Orc are the big two, if you don't want to be either of those then you really can just pick whatever you want.

What do you like? Druids most versatile but if solo plays like a rogue. Priest is highly valued in pvp and pve but you'll heal most the time. Warlock is highly valued in pvp and pve, is fun to level, but while only being able to dps comes with a shit ton of utility.

I value the travel form/stealth for druid, as wl/priest have no mobility at all in classic. Fun fact in total with +5 weapon skill from talents and every decent +dagger item in the game, you can arrive at a whoppingly huge +30 dagger skill. Quite why you'd want this is I don't know but it's cool to see and maybe try.
