It's slow and difficult but it can be very rewarding. The difficulty can require you to think but sometimes it's just unfair and you just get killed by a mob or someone in pvp (unless you're on a pve server). The environments are beautiful, and since the experience is tough there is some kind of comradery with people in your faction. Wpvp can be fun when you have dozens of people show up and duke it out for a few hours.

You might be getting ganked nonstop so you tell people in general chat. Higher level players might show up to help you and then a daylong battle might commence.

Classic is worth trying just keep in mind leveling can be very slow and you need to commit to leveling a character to 30 or so to get a decent understanding of how the game actual plays. That being said don't be afraid to try different classes out, just make a decision at some point.
