I've been hearing about FI:TTH since its release. All positives. People talking about putting several, several hours into this. Some comparing it to Persona 5. Fire Emblem purity or not, I've heard nothing but great things about this game. So, I picked it up.
Now look, I understand I'm only an hour or two into the game, but... I'm extremely quickly losing interest. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I'm not being drawn in. When I played P5, it had its hooks in me quick. This, so far, is on the "meh" side. I've only just picked my house, so the good stuff might be right around the corner, but I'd like to hear that from some of you anons.
I have heard that, dating/time-MGMT stuff aside, if you're not a fan of Fire Emblem games you won't like this (like saying that new stuff won't be enough to sway you if you don't like FE in general), but that shouldn't have any bearing on me as I've never played a single FE. I also heard that if you like the Persona series you'll eat this up. That I can take part in, as I've played P3, 4, and 5 (5 twice). The social stuff should be pulling me in, but it isn't. There's more to the game than the social stuff tho.
tl;dr - I'm a scrub who's losing interest in this after only having chosen my house: help me stick with it, and let me know if it gets better (soon...)

Sink your teeth into the story and trudge along. Give it another three or so hours, plenty of time to digest the meat of the game to discern whether it suits your pallet or not.
I made it through one playthrough siding with edelgard and taking a break with my second playthrough choosing Claude.
I enjoyed it. Talking to everyone can be a pain in the ass when roaming the grounds but it's minor and fleshes out the character + setting.

The only people this game appeals to are story fags. The persona shit is poorly done and basically a gimmick that you will get bored of by chapter 12. The FE parts are some of the weakest in the series, it's probably the easiest FE game ever released. The story is decent though, but that is saying much because it's only good compared to previous FE's which had awful storylines.

True true. Should have said it that way. Yes, I've never played a FE before so I'm unaware of it as a whole. However, I also hear that this FE is a departure from the standard FE fare. Not sure why, maybe difficulty? I did leave it on permadeath tho, as I always hear that's a staple of FE. As for any other differences/similarities, I'm in the dark.

Lack of awareness user. I avoided spoilers up until it's release and not much thought was put into the decision. Ended up finding the group charming tho, and warming up to Hubert who I found annoying at first.
It was a blind run, student's education were done sloppily but adequately, and I felt bad for betraying the church.
But I managed to betroth Edelgard when I finished to forge a lasting dynasty.

Personally it took me like 5-6 hours to really understand the gameplay loop/structure and how everything worked. When everything clicked it´s when I really got into the game and it just keeps getting better from there on. So this is nomal. I would play a bit more if I was you, this is a dense RPG and you are a newbie so this is normal. If you don't like it by the 5 hours mark then by all means drop it.
