It was more than that. Wicked Weaves were nerfed; moves in general didn't interrupt enemy attacks as consistently as in Bayo 1 unless you were in WT. The game is so dependent on you being in WT all the time that IC difficulty didn't remove WT unlike Bayo 1.
This means that there's really no noticable difference between mid and high-level play, which means that Bayo 2 isn't as fun to play as 1.

Good thing many switch games support gyro aim too. DXM demo didnt have it but devs added it due to player feedback. Astral Chain uses gyro for aiming the arrow legion's bow.
