The game was clearly very rushed and there were a fuckload of different designers handling different aspects of the game without any form of unifying vision. The story changed multiple times in development and you can still see the bones of older scripts in things like dungeon designs and scrapped mechanics (Kamoshida has a trap room that never springs, early trailers show that the Rattled status effect was supposed to happen in his dungeon and his kitchen area was going to be a more organic stealth section, older dungeons have areas where simply gluing yourself to walls isn't as easy and clearly came from before they added that gameplay mechanic, Futaba's dungeon is designed to allow you to quickly reach the final segment because it was designed before they added fast travel, etc).

Not him but, are you retarded? EVERY SINGLE dungeon is like that, it's blatantly clear that the Palaces were made without the idea of Fast Travel and it was then added in later.
The entire concept is about you going through the Palace and opening up a route to the treasure. You create shortcuts, open up new ways, and make a safe path that takes you to the treasure... and then you never use any of those shortcuts a single time because you can just teleport to the furthest Safe House you can get to.
In Kamoshida's palace you've got all the secret passages in the portraits and hidden walls, the whole thing folds in on itself back to the entrance, you can go from the Entrance almost right to the end.
Same with Madarame's.
Futaba's is one long linear path that you open up by clearing out the side rooms. Exactly the same logic, clearing the side paths means you can just run up the middle to quickly get back to where you were. Okamoto's and Sae's are both vertical, exactly the same logic. Every single Palace works like that. The only exception is Shido's which has no shortcuts and (almost) no paths back until the very end, but that's again, very clear by design. It's the final Palace, it's meant to be tough, so you have to go through the whole thing in one big slog and then when you're finally almost through it, it loops back around on itself and you have a shortcut from the start to the end.
The Palaces are all really well designed in this regard and a whole lot of time and effort must have been put into it to do it, it's a fantastic system... And it's completely ruined by Fast Travel that was clearly added in way later on. I used some of the shortcuts in Kamoshid'as dungeon before I understood how the fast travel worked, and then never used any of them again for all of NG and NG+.
Okumura and Sae aren’t designed that way.
