Yes, but competition forces Valve to get their act together. Steam went downhill after they added levels to your profile and allowed anyone to put a game up on their store.

Plenty of stolen asset games and oversaturated store. On top of SOMEHOW managing to monetize your profile page. Now people who are trying to look cool online are wasting money on something that means nothing just to fit in or to seem "valuable".

I don't know why people aren't attacking Valve for this. This is beyond egregious. I don't think EA would even stoop this low.

Epic Games is doing a great job and their store is clean, for now, at least. Hopefully they keep improving because Valve has had a monopoly forever and it's shown how lazy they've gotten. They don't even make video games anymore.

i never had any issues running old as fuck steam
when it first came out i thought it was weird i had to download it in order to install my free copy of half life 2 that came with my video card but that's where the negatives ended for me
the idea that i could pay for and download games was a good idea for me and the idea that it was mainly for DRM didnt occur to me for like 10 years min
