Everyone has always considered Banjo and Kazooie to be Nintendo characters. Even after the Microsoft buyout. Rare was basically responsible for the Nintendo 64's main lineup of great games and without Rare Nintendo would definitely be in a different spot than they are now considering all they did for SNES and N64.
