They would allow something so impure on stream.
Yeah. Shields take full damage from shit like concussive damage (so vultures deal 100% damage to Dragoon or Archon shields but 25% to archon health). The upgrade makes works in the same way as armor - just a -1 to damage taken on every hit.
This "-x" damage reduction only becomes really strong if you can get it to a decently high value. That's why Ultras with +3 armor and Chitinous upgrade are so strong against marines.

Also, if a unit is at 0 shields and then regains a single shield point, all damage is subtracted from the armor value of the shield and then, once it goes to actual hit points, it's also absorbed by hit point armor.
So a 3/3 armor Zealot who lost his shields will, after one shield hit point regenerates, take a total of -7 damage from the next attack (3+4).
This usually doesn't really matter, though. And Protoss do not upgrade neither armor or shields most of the time because, especially against Terran, it doesn't really matter.

Almost every protoss unit has more hp than shields, and the shield upgrade costs much more, first is 100+100(armor) vs 200+200(shields), so armor is heavily favored.
I think it was Snow vs Action when Snow got an insane amount of archons and he got at least +1 plasma shields because of it.

Vulture damage is cut to 5 and then reduced by Ultralisk armor to only deal 0,5 damage, and then the Ultralisk's regen kicks in. The Vulture can't do anything even if the Ultralisk is trapped and the Vulture can just autoattack.

i dont know the regen but it would be 1 damage per shot (25% of 20 is 5, which gets reduced by armor) meaning its 400 shots+whatever the ultra can regen. a vulture shoots 1.26 second per shot. So 504 seconds with no regen. Regen is 0.37 per second but im too lazy to do the math

At one point they talked about their worst moments in broodwar.
2/4 moments were tied to the plott brothers, day9 and tasteless.
For Nony it was a qualifier, apparently he won more games in total vs tasteless throughout the qualifier, and he faced Tasteless throughout in several sets, and the loser got to pick the map, and Tasteless kept picking island maps that he won on, and he won at the right times so he ended up qualifiying instead of Nony.

Incontrol had a story during that show about how he almost lost to Tasteless.
They had this ventrilo chat or something, 2 guys played 1v1 and then the rest watched, and they circled around. Tasteless wasn't a regular part of that group, but he'd sometimes show up after not having talked with anyone for weeks and wanted to play, but people were often hesitant to play him beause he was incredibly cheesy, one time incontrol decided to take the bullet.
It ended up being a long game, and incontrol had sweat on his forehead, thinking that he was gonna lose to Tasteless, but he eventually ended up winning... because Tasteless spend 4500 minerals making 45 pylons in the middle of the map that spelled "GG Nerd"
This guy gets it. Storm is THE thing that makes Protoss viable. For zerg they need to cast plague which also costs more 150, storm only costs 75 so you can cast tons of storms. Defilers also needs to sacrifice lings to be able to cast it

At such late stage the armies are big so you cant avoid getting them clumped, and you cant dodge either because of how slow guardians are.

They need a buff. Zergling and hydralisk health should be doubled, along with their cost. Mutalisk need +2 range. Defiler should be able to cast and move while burrowed.
