False. Ayesha is better than any Arland game. Vanilla Rorona is objectively the worst of the modern Atelier games. Totori isn't much better.

Ayesha is inferior to all the plus games, inferior to Totori, and inferior to Meruru, but is the only tolerable post-Arland game as it's the last game that had time limits that mattered to some extent.

I am excited for it, definitely want to see how the new alchemy and battle systems play at length. As for sales it's possible, though it likely won't have the impact that its meteoric fanart creation rate would suggest. I don't think Ryza's gonna magically break 1 million copies and sit next to Pyra and 2B, but for a series that seems to settle for about 200k I could see it maybe breaking 250-300k, possibly even 500k if we're aiming for peak optimism as people definitely seem to be taking to our new thigh overlord.

If you like the idea of slice of life shenanigans and crafting mechanics with some depth alongside your cute anime girls, Atelier's worth a try. I'd say time management on top of that but the series has been moving away from that for a while now.

Lulua and Nelke came out in the last year, as did the Arland DX ports. However, the Arlands are ports, I've heard that Lulua was delayed and Nelke isn't really a major Atelier game.

Alchemy was as good as you wanted it to be. That said, it does look overhauled in this one but with no particularly convenient translations of what we have seen of it, it's hard to state specifics. It seems like you can create items on a sort of branching tree progression that changed them based on the materials you use, or so it seems. Unfortunately, the world seems as Atelier as it ever was, though a big feature this time is the ability to make your own fields and share them so that might amount to something interesting.

Yeah I was amazed at how well they got that one to run especially compared to some of their earlier Switch ports. Ryza looks like they bumped up the graphics a bit so I'm curious how it'll end up this time.
Guess it's only a month or so until release so I'll see some soon any way.

Considering they got AAA titles like Doom to run on Switch (lol it runs Doom) it's more a matter of how much effort did Gust expend into optimizing the Switch version. I don't think anyone would call these games technically demanding so much as resource inefficient. I think the Vita ports had that excuse but Switch? I dunno about that one.

I think it's less Gust being unable or incapable, and more with their blistering fast pace they don't have the time to optimize really. Some of those last Vita ports they did were so fucking bad though so I'm glad they finally dropped the thing.

Switch Lite is handheld only if that's what you want. It's pretty much a Vita 2.0 since they've already garnered all those old niche devs that were making Vita games before and they most certainly are no longer making any new games for the thing anymore.

Who's to say, the game isn't out yet. As I understand it, gathering points will have randomly generated synthesis items and mobs depending on your seed, so it can either limit or break the game I guess. It's really fucking pointless.
