L4D/L4D2 was such a solid game. Quality product.

After becoming Valve South, Turtle Rock got screwed over hard by Valve and asked to be their own company again, which Valve agreed to on the condition that Valve keep the L4D IP.

This is why everyone who bought L4D got screwed over by L4D2 coming out in less than a year. L4D2 was rushed out fast in order to solidify Valve's ownership of the IP. It's also why Valve worked so hard to port everything from L4D over to L4D2 while cutting off support for L4D.

I like the spas too but you get great penetration, long range and good mag for a single fire weapon. Basically a better magnum, plus it was fun to bully people with it in versus.

That's standard practice unfortunately. Companies shit out low effort, low cost entries in a series periodically to maintain the grip on the IP and then do absolutely nothing with them, just to deny it to others.
