I just really like farming for items with low drop rates.
Examples include Borderlands 1/2/TPS, rare pokes/shiny hunting in Pokemon, etc.
BONUS POINTS for anything that isn't turn based.

Terraria.
Monster Hunter.
how to blindfold to ankh?
I'm thinking about buying this years Pokemon. I havent played the series since the gba games (excluding pokemon go during that summer when everyone was playing it). Does this years one have the day and night stuff like gold and silver did?
Nier. Half the fucking items in that game require extremely rare materials.
Diablo II or Warframe.
Literally just buy an older one, BW/2 or the gen 2 remakes. Trust me.
Why? Are this years ones looking bad? Whats wrong with them?
Monster Hunter world. 100 hour game BEFORE introducing the retarded low drop rate item farming
which one should i play
which one
The first one. Haven't played the second one yet because i've been trying to 100% it all this time.
If you want it easy, Monster Hunter World, if you want it hard but more rewarding, Monster Hunter Generations/Ultimate/whatever the newest classic is.
DQ8 on PS2, if you want to get every single item and max out every stat you'll have to farm enemies for 1/256 drops
Sword and Shield are not going to include every Pokemon. They said this was because of the difficulty that would be had from recreating new high detail models for all of the pokes, but they got found out when the switch Pikachu is just a upscale of the 3ds Pikachu they had before. All of the Pokes are modeled in US/UM, so they are really just lying for no good reason. Maybe they want to sell "Pokemon Passes"
Phone is harder
Earthbound sounds right up your alley. Go get that Sword of Kings.
Terraria is the best option for that, hands down.
Path of Exile
I'm not really that bothered about using old Pokemons so that element wouldnt bother me but it does sound very shady of them to lie about it.
>"Pokemon Passes"
whats this? is it a thing in recent games?
The only Pokémon games worth playing between gen 3 (when you stopped) and gen 8 (the upcoming one) are Platinum, HeartGold/SoulSilver (you should go for that one if you liked Gold/Silver), Black/White and Black2/White2. Every other game is lackluster both in terms of content and polish compared to the ones I've listed. Basically you should completely ignore every Pokémon game from the 3DS onward.
Castlevania Harmony of Despair. Random drops everywhere, random bosses on drops, random drops on bosses that change due to difficulty, random drops on bosses that change due to character used...
Get an emulator andplay b/w 2.
Its great.
Fiends in SMT1, 2 and 4
>1/256 chance to spawn (1/32 in SMT2)
>in SMT1 they also have a 1/256 chance to drop one of the strongest weapons in the game
>Is it a thing?
user, have you not heard about battle passes in other games before? I'm not saying they are going to lock old pokes out with paywalls, but by not adding them to begin with they have the choice to.
>turn-based
I'll check it out still, but anything else?
path of exile
Came here to say this.
Dark Souls 2
Thanks for being part of the drove of mindless consuming drones that let Gamefreak be the biggest inept pieces of shit in the industry and still know that dumb little faggots like you will not give it a second thought to buy the mediocre trash they've been shitting out for the greater part of the last 6 years.

Lineage 2. The open world bosses are especially a pain to kill because there is always some stronger party already waiting in position.
Especially the ones that drop items with overpowered effects that make the enemy's stats pointless.
Crafting requires so many materials that you would need a whole guild dedicated to farming just to keep up with your guild's blacksmith demands, talking at higher levels naturally.
It's so hard that some people keep using intermediate armor B up to when they should be already using S because not just the mats are hard to get, the crafting isn't always successful.
Crafting it just the tip of the iceberg, after crafting comes enchanting and here the wallets grow holes. The chance of success for a +8 enchant is like 10% and the cap is +25 which is almost 0% yet people still have those overpowered +25 weapons somehow (shop fags)
All the blessed enchants, the ones that don't break your weapon when they fail, are always sold out on the market and when they aren't they cost billions over the money cap.
You can try farming them with a treasure hunter but in my whole time playing this game I have ever found only one blessed A-grade enchant.
Rich players just buy hundreds of non-blessed enchants and attempt to make +10 and over weapons on their own when the market price of the weapon is too high for the already enchanted version, which usually is made by pure luck by some broke newbie who dared to use the normal enchants he got from drops while leveling up on their favorite weapon without realizing the true worth.
Gearing up is the endgame, before that is finding the appropriate xp farming spots for your levels, in 90% of times all spots are occupied by at least one or two gold sellers farming gold from the mobs.
Giving up on your quests to try in some other region is not a rare thing, if a spot is taken by bots it would take several hours more since the bots 1-shot everything and kill-steal your targets all the time. [/rant]
Thanks for being an angry retard.
>mmo
literally kys
>getting mad at someone that doesn't play pokémon for the decay of pokémon
idiocy of your level should warrant a ban
Truth hurts, huh? How does Gamefreak's boots taste?
do a run in earthbound where you collect all the 1/128 items
>prepatch borderlands 2
Christ don't remind me. I sat down and farmed bunker for 5 hours and not a single sham dropped.
It was the most respected grinder mmo before going f2p.
What's it like living with down syndrome? Retard.
It's not a lie, it's willful misinterpretation by people like
I guess there's Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The items themselves (Legendary Core Crystals) don't have that low a drop rate, but they're just currency for rolls of the in-game Gatcha for Rare Blades (basically unique party members/weapons hybrids), which do have low roll chances (especially KOS-MOS), so you'll need to farm a lot of items and then check later if you're lucky enough to get the Rare Blades out of them. I found the farming process itself (setting up as many complete Driver combos as possible on high-level unique enemies) is actually pretty mindless fun
The game's a JRPG but it isn't turn-based, it uses MMO-inspired combat comprised of cooldown abilities that combo off of each-other as well as multi-layered party-wide combos.
I'm getting mad at someone that falls into the exact category of people that give 60 burgers to GF blissfully ignorant of the garbage they're buying and dismissing all criticism with "w-well I didn't care about that anyway!", which is the people that allowed the decay of the games in the first place.
Nice ad hominem, fuckwad. Where's your argument?
Getting the final tier weapons in recettear.
Ever heard of Ragnarok Online? A korean mmo with drop rates for rare items of 0.01 and for a full equip you need at leats 30 of this kind of items. It was insane honestly i don't know how this people could bear it.
>mfw I got an apple from Alice
