What's the worst Resident Evil?
Probably one of the spinoffs. ORC springs to mind, but there's probably even worse.
I'd honestly say that Veronica isn't as bad as 0. 0 has criminally awful level design and the partner switching system combined with leaving items on the floor makes for a generally horrid inventory mechanic.
Veronica by contrast is just very bland compared to the good classic games.
Where do the Outbreak and Survivor games rank? How about Dead Aim?

everything after and including 4 is pretty fuck awful. the remake was pretty great though. Maybe because I thought I'd hate it and I didn't it gets a boost from low expectations. But 4+ turned into like action shooters not survival games. Seriously if you liked anything after 4 just play fallout

It really is. The level design is terrible, the inventory system sucks, the enemy design is embarrassing and the bosses are among the worst in the entire series.
The only good thing that can be said about it is that it looks nice because of the REmake engine, but that's about it. Also Rebecca is cute, I guess, but less cute than in REmake.

Am I the only one who liked Rev1 over Rev2? Sure, Rev1 had some pretty dodgy design choices, but the ship and aquatic life made for a cool theme with the level and enemy design and your partner wasn't an invasive co-op mechanic like in Rev2.

Outbreak is awful offline. Long load times, NPCs are borderline braindead, the more annoying parts are amplified by this as well.

RE7 is actually pretty good, the only reason people don't like it is because of the molded or because of its random characters. When I play it, it feels like a resident evil game and that's more than 4 5 or 6 ever had. Great return to the actual "survival horror"
Most of Resident Evil 0's new storylines were rendered obsolete when Shinji Mikami took over directorial control of Resident Evil 4 and tossed everything out, intending Resident Evil 4 to have a completely new story, as a change of scenery (and enemies) to the previous Resident Evil games. The concept of exploring the origins of the Progenitor virus and Umbrella's research into it was later used in Resident Evil 5.
