it's a bunch of tunnels, dark pits, endless chasms, and excruciatingly slow tram rides. it's the opposite of comfy. it would be like working in a coal mine but with cubicles everywhere.

Reminder that in certain places in HL1 and expansions, you can find skeletons in vents and other tunnels. The aliens don't pick apart bodies until they're just bone, most of the time they just gib them. Since the black mesa incident takes 3 days at most, this implies that people have gotten lost in black mesa before eventually starving to death.

Also you find shit like magazines, grenades and HEV batteries hidden way too.

Hazardous course 2 is probably the best for it. Once you've completed all the bullshit it puts you through your free to walk around from start to finish.

I remember a map in Sven Co-op that I played like a decade ago that was like this.
You just walked around a bunch of different areas of Black Mesa while all of the scientists and construction workers did stuff and it had some neat scripted sequences. It was pretty comfy.

I wish Xen was better, it was still cool but you can tell it was rushed. Just hoping for the Crowbar Collective's remake to live up to it.
