Roy, Chrom, & Lucina are pretty generic even in their own games. Especially Chrom, who doesn't even have a time travelling angle or get a special weapon at the end like Roy.
Ike was a country bumpkin version of Sigurd or Ephraim, and got a big ass armor/goddess slaying sword to boot. Plus muscles for his RD form.

People hate FE in Smash because how lame they are represented. Even Ike just feels like a heavy version of literally everyone else. It didn't help that Corrin, one of the few actually interestingly designed FE characters, was treated as the "last special surprise" in a DLC pack and people basically felt Nintendo basically wasted a slot.
If they had an ounce of uniqueness Hero had nobody would be mad.
