If the tabletop Warhammer 40k is a turn-based strategy game, why hasn't there been a turn-based video game adaptation?

Because that would compete with their market, especially if you don't have to pay for every unit.
I know Mechanicus exists, but I wish there was an Imperial Guard game in the style of Xcom.
I would kinda like a kill team game that was like x-com
/thread.
If there was though it would probably be something like duel links and rng/lootboxed up the asshole.
final liberation.
also has delicious b-movie live action cutscenes
too make it right you would need a lot of money for assets and models, the scale would have to be huge in terms of buildings, etc
but sadly turn based games don't sale that well to justify such a big budget
sounds great
And since kill team only uses a limited amount of units, there’s not an astronomical amount of things to make. Also would be fun to play online against others
Starcraft, you idiot. Starcraft and Warcraft started planning as licensed games but when Gamesworkshop wouldn't play ball they became their own thing
>Starcraft
>turn based
making authentic, good looking maps could still be troublesome
I intentionally ignored OPs misunderstanding of what 40K is. 40K is an RTS on paper, being turn based isn't the focus of it
>I intentionally ignored OPs misunderstanding of what 40K is
riiiiiiiiiiiiight
Is the The Humble RPG Book Bundle: Warhammer 40,000 Dark Heresy by Cubicle 7 worth guys? It has so many books, I don't know why it's so cheap.
I just want a 3rd person game like god of war only with guns instead of magic where I can kill hundreds of xenos, cultists and mutants
There has been. Just not in a long time. SSI made a few. Chaos Gate and Rites of War.
There is, its called Sanctus Reach
exactly this. its licensed by the table top and obviously they have decides to try to draw people into paying 500$ for a table top army rather than make a digital replacement
>rts
>real time strategy
>the exact opposite of turn based
I would guess there's a "free" adaptation out there, sort of like the blood bowl one
Sanctus Reach and Armageddon we’re both pretty fun if you like turn based games. I really enjoyed both and both are ball busting on hard. Especially the first mission as the Imperial Guard for SR never ending orks, no veteran units, got to break out of your landing zone take 3 points while holding the zone as well.
Is it all the actual supplements and core rulebook for dark heresy? If so yes snap that shit up. It’s amazing.
Yeah it seems like it. Thanks will do.
