They had upsold me on "accessory care" for £6 and it turned out to be totally worth it

Pro controller has the same issue. To fix it you can buy replacement sticks and replace specific sensors, because those are the problem.

Those programs are usually worthwhile, you just have to be careful because some stores will try to sell you some 1 quid shit that only protects "accidents" so if you show up and it's a defect it won't qualify. Just make sure to read the terms, basically.

He shouldn't have to. I have SNES controllers that work just fine. My shitty wii remote controllers for over ten years ago still work. But I got controllers earlier this year that are now drifting. They are my second pair after the first ones drifted to the point of being unplayable.

I don't know what shit I bought, it was at a hardware store, electrical contact cleaner, but it actually fucked both my joycons completely up and stained them too. I couldn't believe it. Now I have to pay for replacements and I am broke as hell.

my left joycon was drifting too, i used some wd40 to clean it and it works perfectly since then, was two months ago.
Give it a shot, i got a 250ml bottle on amazon for 8$, much cheaper than buying a new pair of joycon.
