For some reason I thought of this too. FF8 has a lot of interesting ideas that are never fully realized.

Shadow of the Colossus is the only game I can think of.

resistance 2 for the first level
didn't somebody recreate some of this artist pictures in vr?

has any game apart from shadow of the collosus been able to pull off breath taking giant things. I know that new gow game had the big serpent but if i remember correctly he was only in cutscenes

I'm getting a Killer Is Dead vibe for some reason.

Was going to say this. Mediocre game overall but damn is has some peak kino.

EYE Divine Cybermancy

your mom pulled off squatting on my breath taking giant serpent for example

None. You have old horror games that could pinpoint this scaling with their set camera views but I don't think it was ever done. In modern games you will find the walking among the reamins of architecture that ruined an empire schtick but you won't find a modern game that isn't locked in a constant camera slight over the shoulder view or first person and will thus lose the illusion of the scaling in the picture. Wait for Kenshi 2 and see how that turns out I guess.

Omikron: The Nomad Soul

any fromsoft game

Painkiller

none, game designers suck dick at scale

Metroid games.

technically Oni, but all of this is happening off-screen

How about this feeling

that's any souls game. it's a dead match i can't believe it wasn't the first post.

In EYE the indoor areas kind of gave me that feeling because there weren't really ceilings

NaissanceE I guess, although it's basically an unofficial vidya adaptation of Blame !
