So someone else is experiencing the suspension glitch, that's cool since I've seen nothing anywhere else about it that doesn't give me a "its ur fault lol" answer. Yes, it's a glitch that mostly happens with tilt attacks (or any stick-related inputs; if you have the tap-jump on, or C-stick tilts). The game does not buffer tilt-attacks assigned to the C-Stick - you have to manually input the tilt-attack twice normally or else your character will just stand in place, waiting to get wrecked.
As for the double-jump thing - if the game experiences a lag-spike when you're airborne; you might double-jump by accident and there will be no indications that you have no jumps left until it's already too late.

Smash 4 was trash as well but even that game didn't suffer from so many cockblocking mechanics preventing smooth gameplay. Everything was timing-based; from defensive play to offensive, right down to mindless spam.
now mindless spam and fucking up your timing is more rewarded than being precise. They just sprinkled a shit-ton of multi-hit attacks on some characters to make up for the need of precision (mostly thinking about the fucking mouse and Palucopter).
struggling really hard to squeeze any fun out of this game. The community prefers to pretend there's no problem and that it's all related to skill. It's like someone took a dump on the middle of a ballroom and everyone would rather dance around the turd than clean it.

i did play it when i was little. I liked it a lot despite its flaws but i never took it very seriously. At least the characters would perform the actions i ask them to do instead of planting roots through the stage, waiting to get fucked.

i'm no pro and i don't aim to play competitively. I just find it unnerving how difficult it is to have fun in this game. you never really feel in control of your character unless the connexion is buttery-smooth or that your opponent is a complete deadbrained retard. (And again... sometimes the deadbrained retard can just win out of sheer spam and luck).
Multi-hits as a whole in this game are cancerous. If they wanted to add so many active hitboxes all the time, they should have at least kept the shields as strong as in Smash 4.

i don't like Melee very much; just played it as a kid for fun. Brawl was kind of fun between friends but nothing amazing. Both loved and hated Smash 4. Never tried 64. Ultimate just seems to be the worst for me; taking in consideration the time of release and all the progress made in technology.

It's second to Melee in terms of pure gameplay. I'd say the only real flaws are the massive buffer window (why the FUCK did they think this was okay?), how hard it is to fall through platforms, and still no wavedashing and dashdancing really isn't that useful (not even a tryhard faggot, I just think more movement options would make the game more interesting).
I'd also argue that the game needs some balance patches but they're obviously going to keep doing that for as long as they're rolling out DLC. I'd say projectile zoners and certain characters, like Wolf and swordies in general, need a nerf, while others, like heavies, need buffs. I'm glad they gave my boy Ridley a sorely needed buff. I hope he gets more.

Whoever changed the buffer to just holding the button needs to have their knees broken. Any time I get a shieldgrab I have to make sure i let go of the buttons so fast or else i'm getting a roll, too. I've learned to not press buttons the second i get hit so i don't accidentally airdodge to my death, but it's still obnoxious.
But I don't really play the game that much these days anyway, since team co-op sucks hard in this game. Not having friendly fire on is way more volatile in this game than in 4, and there's less options to deal with it. In 4 you could at least play with friends online with a second player locally, but they still haven't given us an option to do this with arenas. Say what you will about QP, co-op QP is even worse, second only to 3 player FFAs.
Honestly this. I haven't been playing smash for a while and playing UMvC3 again with friends and been having a much better time as of late.

DBFZ has a lot of other problems, but the length of the matches would make it all that more frustrating. fwiw not every character works that way (some can only do one L normal before having to do a M/H), and jump cancel stuff is only used by some characters.
