It's really, really easy in NG+, so just get the couple students that fit with your house and worry about recruiting everyone next time.

Try to raise supports with then. Meals can help out a lot as well as any activity that has you interacting with them. IIRC if you get said person to B rank there is a set chance they will join you within the week, and I'm pretty sure you can save scum it to take advantage. If you don't want to invest too much time into getting them to B before recruiting if you get them to C rank it lowers the requirements for recruiting them over.

If there is one good thing about gacha games its how it has pushed japan to make all their character designs as sexy and attractive as possible.

Finished up GD route last night gonna give some thoughts
The timeskip was weird but the return of your class was cool, Claude became disgustingly good when he became the first flying lord in the series. Everything up until Edelgard’s defeat was good bar Dimitri dying off screen and honestly expected Dedue to do something more extreme but he choked a point really well in the Edelgard map. The science map was insane and lore reveal was really cool but they destroy everything so quickly and the Nemisis revival was an underwhelming cutscene and we didn’t feel much tension even if the map was fun. One of the lamer endgames in the series in terms of setting but music was dope, seeing Claude pierce his arm with an arrow was cool and Marianne S Support was so cute, I’m so glad I showed her favoritism throughout the run. Endings were cool although I can’t tell what happened to Lysithea with Lorenz. Also Leonie and Shamir got a paired ending which was cool.
I had a great time with the game but the explore part really started to drag at the end once you reached A+ professor level.

Most characters can teach their proficiencies to Byleth as long as they have a higher rank in the skill than Blyeth. The exception is teachers/knights that still teach you the same stuff as before the timeskip.

So Dimitri, Felix, or Ingrid would need really high swords. Dimitri or Annette would need really high authority.

It's gameplay logic. There's literally no downside to a free recruit that M-Byleth has no equivalent to. With Peg Knight she can start flying 10 levels earlier, and Falcon Knight is one of the best classes in the game and works slightly better with Byleth's strengths than Wyvern Lord.

One free recruit who himself isn't that great of a unit doesn't amount to jackshit. The recruit argument becomes complete redundant after the first playthrough as well since in NG and beyond you can poach other students with extreme ease. Oh, for other units rather than the protagonist it's most support points (they continue to build after A) and they're not all marriages, some are platonic endings. Like Raphael and Lysithea ended up running an inn together with him treating her like a little sister, and Marianne and Hilda ended up being best best pals rather than getting married to anyone.
