Byleth unlocks Enlightened One automatically at one point in the story, and each respective Lord also automatically unlocks post time skip Lord class. Other than that all non-Lord make units can use the dark seal to become a dark mage then dark bishop. I hope that we can get more DLC seals soon.

Not really, being able to put it aside doesn't mean it stays put aside forever. It's exactly because all obstacles were removed and Char found an excuse to fight Amuro again that things happened the way it did.
