505 is so cheap when it comes to marketing that unless you actively give a shit what Remedy is making you wouldn't know that this game exists. Max Payne's VA plays one of the characters so that's cool.

There's no hype because:
1. The game looks too similar to Quantum Break, the developer's previous sci-fi third-person shooter, which flopped as a result of poor performance and temporary Windows 10 exclusivity.
2. Although Remedy has fans, they really just want Max Payne and Alan Wake.

Alan Wake ends with the protagonist essentially sacrificing himself to save his wife; she's free and he's now stuck in the Dark Place. And it's heavily implied that he is preparing to write himself out of the Dark Place, as he had already done once before, but not everything that's implied to happen in the future needs to be shown on-screen. Sure, the story could continue, and I hope it does just because I want to play another Alan Wake game, but the story doesn't need to continue. Nothing was actually left unresolved except for some details which were probably never going to be explained (such as exactly how the FBI agent got involved, etc.). Honestly, in my opinion, it was pretty tidy as far as endings to horror stories go.

Before this thread will be ruined forever by morons and trolls, I have a very specific question to ask: Is there any outside locations? In every preview I've seen you're constantly inside a place surrounded by walls, to the point I'm not even sure that you can see skybox anywhere.
Also very surprised about side missions and revisiting locations, thought it was very straight forward "point A to point B" adventure. Neat.

It's another generic remedy shooter, what did you expect? I admit the setting looks interesting but that's just it. Last remedy game I played was Alan Wake which didn't exactly blow everything else out of the water... it was ok, and so were the dlc's. I skipped that other time travel gimmick game due to the bad optimization on PC and horrendous install size for the live action crap which felt low budget and out of place.

There is a Quarry with beautiful sky, but it's inside the building (you heard me right). Most of the game take place in offices, maintenance tunnels and astral world.
The reason is simple: can't let the Hiss out of the building, so it's on a lockdown.

It has some feminist angles, but Jessi is alright. Not great, not Max, not Alan, but better than that guy from QB.
And it's fun in a Remedy way. But you can tell - there were writers that wanted to push agendas, there are hints and lines here and there.
I suppose Lake muted them somewhat, but not entirely.

I was curious when it was first shown at E3 last year, but I haven't heard any waves about it since. Probably going to get it once it liberates itself from Epic. Even if it's just yet another slow-paced third-person shooter with a gimmick theme, the atmosphere and presentation seem really cool.
