I don’t need a streaming service when I can just watch something online for free
streaming games will die out in less than 10 years
>Implying Google won't just kill off stadia after a year
>streaming service you need to be at home for will kill handheld devices
How exactly do I stream games while outside?
Switch already has streaming tho
They'll try for the first two months to market it, then forget about it and let it rot for three years.
I can't even stream without lag/artifacts from the bedroom to the living room, nevermind over the internet
The OP shows a Nintendo Switch. The only thing that changes is the name I'll be called when I say that Google's new machine is a horrible idea that won't work outside urban hubs with halfway decent cable/fiber.
Even better, they realised that streaming games is a shitty solution so they made cloud games rented instead of charging full fucking price. At least when streaming for PSO2, RE7, and ACO get pulled, you don't lose any purchases.
does google really not understand that most people have crap internet, especially in america
this is never going to work
They also knew it wouldn't fucking work outside Japan.
Hell no.
I can actually play this thing when I’m out in the woods, in the mountains driving cross country because it doesn’t need internet
Steaming is a meme and will be completely unplayable outside your house
>streaming games
>At least when streaming for PSO2, RE7, and ACO get pulled, you don't lose any purchases.
when has that actually happened for non-stream games?
They were never alive to begin with
Take the controller with you and stream it to any TV or electronic billboard you see.
>Streaming service that chews up your entire data plan in an hour outside the house will kill handheld devices
stadia won't have access to any switch games, so i really don't understand what the fuss is about
No. Just like they dont understand people wont wear smart glasses or buy self driving cars.
I love articles like this, because it shows Google is wasting their money on shills that are ultimately going to be ineffective in convincing the general public the bullshit they’re trying to spew. The more money they lose, the better.
I would love to see you try that.
Fucking no it won't. You really think mother fuckers are going to stream video games on their phone and hit their data cap in an hour?
You dont actually believe it will work like that right?
Yes, majority of people play handheld mode lying down, not outside.
this article is retarded, stadia is more likely to hurt PS5 and the neXtbox than switch. smart phones hurt switch if someone ever makes a worthwhile game for them
No it won't, it's more likely to disrupt console's grip on the casual market if anything (turning console ownership into an enthusiast's interest).
The issue is that even with unlimited data, the last mile of connection is garbage, doubly so on phones. So you're going to be burning through your phone's battery and data allotment in an hour, and then you're done
the Scott PIlgrim game on PS3 was delisted, meaning if your system didnt have it downloaded, it was gone forever even if you paid for it
which is a damn shame since it was a really solid beat-em-up
This
A Gameboy emulator on a phone is a better smarter choice
Smart glasses is a great idea marketed to the wrong people, people that don't already wear glasses, I already spend an entire day with this shit on my face, a smart device on it would be fantastic.
It's astounding that Google thinks they can sell a console (yes, a console, since you can't play with other PC players at all for shit like Destiny) without any big exclusives
>always online will disrupt handheld.
i guess they're half right, you will be disrupted in the middle of gameplay, and irated when you realize you don't have the freedom to play anywhere, anytime you want
I hope they lose a couple billion on this shit idea that gathers dusts
I want it to fail PlayStation classic tier
I can barely stream videos in HD unless I have a strong WiFi signal on my shitty ass Sprint plan. How the fuck can streaming games be something even remotely feasible outside of Japan or South Korea?
Orcs must Die 3 though
>it's actually real
Spoiler you won’t.
It straight up won’t work
It’s inevitable. The only reason Nintendo drones still defend the switch is that it’s handheld. When you can play something with great graphics on an iPad as long as you have WiFi, the switch wil have zero purpose but the one or two good exclusives. I hope nintendo’s ready
Google can try and buy hookers and blow for telecom companies in return for being put on a fast lane
I wear glasses too, but i dont want to wear a pair that brings attention to me. I admit its probably cool to mess around with, but id never wear it.
No because Streaming services suck. You are reliant on having a good wifi connection which means anytime you lose connection you can't play not to mention "lag" now exist for single player games where it otherwise shouldn't. This was one thing people fucking hated about launch Diablo 3 as you always had to be online for the fucking auction house. Even with ideal connections you are going to have some delay as the data has to travel from the controllers to the server and back again. You can't really play it portability like the Switch as you need good wifi which a lot of places don't have not to mention when you don't have wifi like a flight (best reason to have a Switch), car trips or camping. Also, the services isn't that cheap for what you are getting.
If anything, it's more like the Switch makes Stadia irrelevant. The article was likely written by a Google drone.
It will work but it'll be laggy with major frame rate drops and a fluctuating resolution.
>Let’s see how long the stream was
>35 fucking minutes
No fucking thank you
Oh yeah, how could I forget about that highly anticipated system seller
I'm firmly of the opinion that single player games with strong campaigns are the bedrock of most systems exclusive appeal. Whether they be FPS or RPGs or Platformers or what have you, there has to be something meaty to do by yourself on a system for there to be appeal for an individual person to pick one up
Multiplayer may give longevity, but single player is that initial jumpstart to the engine
we're getting there, but we are nowhere close to the cool shit that detective wore in Heavy Rain
This. If you dont have a 10 mbps download it's literally not going to let you try
>samurai shodown
>combo heavy fighting game over shitty steaming
Fucking kek
Reminder the target audience for Stadia isn't you, it's normalfags who outnumber you 100x.
Normalfags don't care about framerate, input lag, resolution, modding capability, or game ownership. They see the chance to play the newest Assassin's Creed on their shitty macbook and will throw money at Google. Stadia will be a massive success and there's nothing you can do about it, just like how you couldn't stop normalfags from ruining all your other favorite hobbies too.
>the Scott PIlgrim game on PS3 was delisted, meaning if your system didnt have it downloaded, it was gone forever even if you paid for it
wait, you cant redownload ps3 games that have been delisted if you've purchased it?
or are you just saying you cant buy it?
The free WiFi at the airport I’m at is 30. I can’t imagine how poor you have to be not have 10.
Normalfags won't pay $60 to stream a game.
normalfags do care about data caps, however
If anything it will kill the other x86 consoles.
Nintendo stays alive thanks to gimmicks and steaming cant do that.
IT'S OVER NINTENDO IS FINISHED
Normalfags don't play games, they watch other people on twitch play them.
>streaming on mobile
fuck that lmao
p sure switch might get an actual proper port later down the line now that a western version is confirmed for multiplat
Normalfags will care if it runs like complete and utter ass
I don't own a switch (psvita that I modded because I'm a fag) but I'm a large fan of both handhelds and streaming consoles. The problem is, I mostly use handhelds in places without WiFi/data, so streaming just seems impractical. I would much rather stream a game on my TV or on some kind of home console.
basically like everything google’s side project
and if it's costly, remember it's not your average joe that keeps mobile gaming alive, it's the rich no-life whales
Yea. Switch fags are unable to play any non nintendo game because of difficulty. Why would stadia impact them?
Can you play Cyberpunk 2077 on your phone? HUH?
i think you can stream games on your phone too
It's not combo heavy though.
>handheld dominance
oxymoron
Here's footage of the true Stadia experience: streamable.com
They can't even get it to run smoothly when the data center is in the same room.
This
Switch just rapes this thing on all fronts
Price games usability
That’s sounds worse than just not working at all
Even with my gigabit-tier uncapped internet I'd never waste a single dime on any of these games streaming services.
They're aiming for a specific market of middle class and upper class idiots, the kind of people who own $2500 Macbooks and only use them for internet browsing and light word processing.
Is this the next level snoyfag COPE?
PS4/Xbone is at most risk of being killed by Stadia. PC gamers are autists and Nintendo has portability.
Surely the lag will depend on the internet, and I don't think a conventions WiFi will be amazing.
>Stream my eroge games to the jumbotron at my local baseball games
Holy fuck, stadia won
Normalfags are retarded but there’s stuff even normalfags will catch on to.
Everyone notices when their games are laggy as hell because everything drops to single digit frames
That'd be true if data caps werent still a thing, or assuming the average joe doesnt already own a PS4/Xbone and can play those games elsewhere with larger playerbases.
I don't want to play Cyberpunk 2077 on my phone. That game has tiddies.
I know the ps vita failed, but the psp did well, so SURELY playstation would be fine.
Nope but neither can Stadia
Both. Usually if you bought it you can still redownload it again later, but there are several examples where suddenly you couldn't and it was just gone forever. If it's digital only and delisted, it's a crap shoot how long you can go back and redownload it.
>something that has failed half a dozen times already will usurp a market Nintendo has ultimately dominated for 30 years
Say what you will, Nintendo's handheld division outsells bread and butter
>so SURELY playstation would be fine.
Ok not surely. But they're at less of a risk than xbox
Google is in the phase a lot of companies fall into once they get too successful, they get too arrogant and try stupid shit without listening to critics. They act like this is something revolutionary when we have seen this shit multiple times already and millions of people use streaming technology professionally to stream desktops. But using a fucking VDI or screen sharing software does not necessitate high reaction time like games.
It could easily kill their entire normalfag audience.
Remember most ps4 owners only play Fifa and Cod.
In years to come when internet becomes cheaper and more reliable you will see streaming take off for video games. It's a sad reality because we will have no choice but to take it when most gaming companies will want to deliver their games this way. What I'm curious about is what the market itself will look like because I imagine there won't be a Steam store but websites to pay for games where you have unlimited access until they shut down the servers.
Why would anyone but clueless tech-loving faggots play on stadia?
Streaming is the future!
Why? Xbox can fall back on the windows store if it needs to. Plus they have gamepass and whatever the fuck X-Cloud is.
This almost every single Nintendo handheld sells like 80 million a pop
it's another of those days isn't it
You know, theoretically streaming games can enable a massive mmo-like virtual world that requires the computation of a simulation far more advanced then even a 2000$ enthusiast's build would be able to achieve.
Except its not that, and instead is just shit.
The Japanese audience is still a big part. They mostly play handhelds and even the ps vita did well there.
God imagine pulling up an AR screen anywhere to play games that nobody else can see. hovering at a user chosen fixed position so you could multitask easily.
then again, if they literally make it impossible for you to buy it; it's basically abandonware
Nah, streaming won't take off on PC thanks to how huge a market esports are for PC gaming, and in esports high refresh rates and low latency are pretty much mandatory.
to be honest they have too much potential and are more practical than other problematic new offer like HTC Vibe, etc... I tried this program called "Parsec" to play streaming with my friends computer, now imagine this as worldwide system
>サービス
Eww gay
streaming games won't be a meme once 5G rolls out nationwide by 2021
Have fun going through your entire month's data plan within 3 hours
it's more like streaming games will only really start in 10 years from now
I never said Xbox would be killed. They have such a big influence in gaming and have many advantages.
My plan's unlimited.
Who the fuck still has data caps in 2019?
That said, streaming is still dogshit.
Doomed since 1986
Streaming will take off but it will be it's own market like mobile is and when it does expect game companies to lock down their games.
Their cockroach nature is admittedly underestimated
Sony and Nintendo know that. That's why they make high budget SP games despite multiplayer games making more money. Single player games build up a reason for people to buy consoles where as people will only be hyped for one multiplayer game at any given time.
I hate Eurogamer, but this was based.
fucking kek
Yup, that's why CoD always go for 60 FPS on consoles. Normies may say they don't care about frame rate but they do.
I don't need to have sex when I can just watch porn online for free.
Stadia is a dumb fucking idea and the people supporting it are delusional at this point.
The latency is going to suck dick playing any games.
You can get used to it a little latency but it WILL spike or fluctuate and totally throw you off regularly.
>Massive imput lag
No thanks
I could see Stadia taking a large chunk of Nintendo's market in Japan.
If they keep up with the momentum they have now I’m pretty sure they’ll be fine
I have shadow and while its a fantastic service that still beats the pants off of stadia, streaming will never replace dedicated consoles. One drop in internet and you'll know.
Google is an American company. Japan won't have any interest in Stadia.
>The ISPs will improve services to meet demand
I could see you in a circus exiting a tiny car with 6 other men, splashing water in each other faces and prat falling while honking.
In the future we will laugh at those who don't stream games like we laugh at audiophiles.
A large majority in the US? Also even without data caps, your provider will still throttle you if you use too much
Stadia will die in 2020
Scott Pilgrim, the PT demo, and Driver: San Francisco are the biggest ones I can think of right now. There's a site with a massive list of games out there somewhere though.
lmao, no they won't
I remember people saying no one would touch OnLive's tech with a barge pole and here we are
the natural extension to products as a service assfuckery is entertainment and games as a streamed service, that way you can't own it, you can't tamper with it, can't pirate it (for now)
this is the natural evolution of companies wanting to own everything they sell, even after they sell it and as gaming as a service.
Just consolefags.
Since it's the platform that'll be killed by streaming.
Don't forget Ducktales Remastered, which was literally like 2 weeks ago.
Theres almost none. I'm not defending the service because you can't play games you own on it, but at least be honest.
You did your bed, now l̴͕̪̬̭̣͖̠̘͔̝̟̤͖̙̦͎͔̪͍̠̘̊̐͆̾̿͌̊̒́̏̆̿̈́̄ͅͅĭ̸̗̗̱̰̣̳̪̜̱̟̝̠̳̥̬͙̝̝̙̋̌̀̏̇̈̎͐̂̊̑̋̌̊͋̿̾̚̚ͅẽ̵̪̦͉͎͚͈̙̬͚̭͎̉͛̓̂͛̾̑̂͋̈̎̉͊̎̚ͅ i̵͍̳̠̜̪̦̰͓̱̩͚͍͚̪͐̔͊́̔͐̏͌̐͛̌̍́̂̚n̶̰̦̣͚̫̤̥̳̜̝͙͙̭̰̗͈̰͖͍͍̤̿̄͒̉́͋̈́̏̾̑̾̾͒̄̋̊̑̀̔̚̚ͅͅ i̷̠̠̘͈̝̫̬͚̫͖̟̖͚͔̓̋̆̽̍̽̽̊̽̉̍̔͌̆̚ͅt̜̠̱̱̪̜̙͚̬͇͕̜͎͙͈̮̣̦̬͗͒̐̀̍̎̿̋͊͂̇̔͐͋͗̆̔͋͑͋̊
If Nintendo shills don't care about graphics, then they clearly don't have the ability to care about input lag either.
Shit eaters will always eat shit
This is too early for streaming games as internet is too slow in most places.
I don't need to watch porn when I can imagine something better than the stuff I do find
Literally proven true. Look at any advanced race.
Lol good luck getting reliable internet on a fucking bus
Bros, I can't believe Nintendo is fucking dead...
>If Nintendo shills don't care about graphics, then they clearly don't have the ability to care about input lag either.
Because modeling individual pores and dust particles is just as important as the video game responding to your input, yes?
Another google product that adds 20 hoops to things that are are simpler, cheaper and better
But the PR man said the ISPs will improve services, not because the government paid them to, but because Google said they would!
>in the future we will laugh at people who can actually resell, mod games, play without internet, pirate games, play at hotels with shitty shared wifi and no ethernet to plug a router in
Why would I ever use streaming when you have to actually pay full price for each game to stream it? Whats the benefit compared to just buying it normally off steam or some other store or the consoles?
My sides.
>Ducktales
Fuck, I didn't know about that one. I'm guessing Disney memory holed it because it's based on the original show and not the reboot?
ducktales can be redownloaded on pc, dont know about consoles
pt was free so doesn't count, the point was about people losing games they had purchased
Nah, every single streaming service I've used has input lag, whether it's Geforce Now, PSNow, Google's streaming demo with ACO, and even Steam in-home streaming.
And by far, Steam's has the least input lag.
Ask any american.
>There's a site with a massive list of games out there somewhere though
every game that was on steam can be redownloaded
is it really impossible on consoles?
Thoughts?
Five, take it or leave it.
Sorry I like ownership, possessing a revocable license is gay.
Streaming and digital is for LITERAL cuckolds.
I don't know about other consoles, but Sony is pretty notorious for pulling games entirely.
better than my AOL dial up in 2003 in literally every way. it's probably usable but with dogshit quality videos and pirating at a library is better than actually paying for games
And streaming is like watching porn while playing on a real console is like having sex right?
Why are people upset about being able to play PC quality games on their phone, anywhere youtu.be
Cus then you don't own the product
which means you won't fuck it up, they don't have to pay to ship it out, costs less to advertise since you'll already be on the service, costs less to serve it since it's part of your subscription, you can't tamper, modify or share it and won't technically even own it, just a removable at any time subscription to the service to access what they say you can, when you can.
Also they can pack whatever metrics they want into the game that track what you're up to and you can't go rummaging around in the files or data mine the contents of games
it's inevitable because this is the way of business nowadays
But you listed benefits for the company. What are the benefits for ME?
Not great m8
The only company I can see implementing correctly would be Valve, GOG or even Epic, they already have a fucking store, and they have a larger library.
None, companies don't give a fuck about you.
I guess one benefit is you get your games on the go, but the reason most people are needing to game on the go is because they're overworked and being encouraged to bring their work home, so your only relief is your 1 hour commute.
welcome to hell lmao
I have 150mbps and can get 1gbps for $99.
Only midwest/southern cucks suffer from bad internet, and no one cares about those flyovers.
GLORIOUS COASTAL STATES MASTER RACE
Fuck rural Ireland. I literally pay 50 Euro a month for this shit. 20 minutes drive has 200mb up and 200 down. They wont bring the fiber optics to my house because its not profitable enough or some shit.
The site has a separate section of "extinct" games, which can't be downloaded even if you bought it.
delistedgames.com
been doing some research on forums of people talking about delisted games; seems like you actually can redownload them, even on ps3
If thats the case I don't see much point bothering to play games at all. I'll do something else with my money thanks.
because I like to own my games
My parents place in Australia has 5/1 and it goes offline frequently. Visiting is like going back two decades. When it drops out, you can call the company and they say 'oh we can have someone out in two weeks'. Fuck me dead
Well, and they're important when you have a new console since multiplayer only works as an appeal if all your friends own it, it's a social appeal
Conversely, single player appeal to individuals to buy it for themselves, not just to be part of a group but for personal entertainment
This doesn't make any sense at all, its like saying eating peanut butter sandwiches lead to birds dying, literal absurd nonsense.
I live in a Mexican rural city and i have 250Mb/s user for $30.
Your internet sucks.
You don't even technically own them now. Steam is basically very long term rental. I guess by 'own' you mean install on your own HDD.
see
Not as bad as everyone makes it out to be, same with geforce. It ain't worth a shit with newer stuff and reflex heavy games but probably anything else could potential be fine with a good connection.
Actually owning your games hasn't been possible since the mid 00s.
I also suspect that in like 30 years computer power will be what you buy as a service instead of building a standard tower, you just buy a specialized unit in the same way you buy a motherboard and then slot cards to give you access to certain alotments of power from nvidias superfarms for streaming services, this is to go with your package based service internet.
lmao I'll be long dead by then so who cares
>I guess by 'own' you mean install on your own HDD.
which means I they can be backed up when steam kicks the bucket
>be google
>realize America has shit internet
>create google fiber
>put it in two cities
>give up
>forget about this a few years later
Good luck using them when they all try to open your Steam client to verify license ownership
Normies mostly play multiplayer and streaming it's terrible for that. No to mention people are not going to pay 60$ to play with input lag. Stadia may be big with parents that don't want to bother buying a console for their kid but that's it.
Sony/MS/Nintendo don't have the legal right to revoke your games single player functionality.
If you aren't a multiplayerfag, you're good.
But if you say Nigger online, say goodbye to every digital game you own.
I'm perfectly ok with a streaming service for games but only if its a Netflix type thing where I pay 10-15 Euro a month to get a massive library of games from various generations and current gen. I'm not ok with streaming service where I have to actually pay for each game. Thats just pointless.
'America has shit internet' is a meme. Gigabit fiber is widely available in metro areas. So many people posting in these threads must live in the boonies.
seems like it's literally nothing but free games that suck, and some decent free to play games
so games that actually matter are still safe if you've already bought them
>americans
>having good internet
They only care about people in major cities.
Having games removed from your console is equally possible for physical and digital games. They're both protected by DRM.
>But if you say Nigger online, say goodbye to every digital game you own.
Seems fair to me, edgy preteen racists can fuck off
go to bed Tim.
Too expensive for normalfags, the overall value is not worth it, why would you pay $60 to play a shit game on the phone, when you have a MXT crap for free on the phone.
this, stadia is for bugmen
I'm only interested in Stadia for potential games that are impossible on consoles or PC. Shit like massive, persistent, beautiful worlds with thousands of concurrent players. Any game made for consoles and PC will be a downgrade when played through Stadia.
wait what? orcs must die 3 is real? and a fucking stadia exclusive?
If you lose your account, you can't boot up the games you downloaded thanks to DRM.
But if you get banned, all your physical games still work fine. Maybe they have a unique identifier and are banned from online, but only idiots play anything besides single player.
Why do you think normal fags would care about this? They only play 2 or 3 games a year like fifa, cod and assassins creed.
...
That's an interesting point. I never thought about it that way. It would make VR far more accessible in terms of the power it requires which is the main issue it has right now for normies.
>If you lose your account, you can't boot up the games you downloaded thanks to DRM.
wrong that's not how either console or steam drm works
You can sue them in EU for this. They can either refund you the money you spent on the game or give you the game back.
>Gigabit fiber is widely available in metro areas.
the point is that in most other first world countries, it's widely available outside of metro areas as well
Stadia is DoA, not even 5G will fix the 200ms latency
So basically GameTap?
It's been a decade it could probably work now
Yeah, that's the real reason it'll never happen.
>I have no idea what I'm talking about
Current cloud platforms like Shadow have 10ms latency
Nah, only white people support that, hence why any game with Asians or Hispanics who speak english is full of people saying nigger.
And most black people don't support that either because we don't want some faggot pencil neck in California trying to dictate what we can and can't say.
4G isn't even rolled out, yet. Let me give you an example. I live in Spring Hill, TN. Technically, my cell phone gets a 4G/LTE signal. But I only get 1 bar. K? I'm also a truck driver. I drive around the country. 1 bar, everywhere, except dead center of major metro areas and tons of dead spots where it reverts to 3G. I ended up switching my phone to full-time 3G because I get 5 bars everywhere, no dropped calls or signals, etc.
4G is NOT rolled out. They're just giving you the illusion that it is. 5G will be even worse seeing as 4G has yet to catch up to 3G.
tl;dr: They only did *just* enough 4G coverage to say the area is technically covered, even though the signal is shit. Because 1 bar counts as being covered and they could say it on commercials - "we have the largest 4G network..." . But it's not going to get you Netflix on your phone.
>And most black people don't support that either because we don't want some faggot pencil neck in California trying to dictate what we can and can't say.
t. white guy who would like to continue being a racist fuckbag
>Boot up digital game
>Console/Launcher checks for license
>Banned, license was revoked
>Does not launch game
I know PS4 works like that.
>Current cloud platforms like Shadow have 10ms latency
what ever you say shill
Yeah, just like how EU law makes them pay the proper tax right.
o wait
This is a guy playing on Verizon 4G with 30ms ping
maybe i don't want to connect to the internet to play a single-player game, ever think about that.
or maybe i don't want to waste my battery, or keep my work/private phone occupied incase someone needs me, Stadia is a joke.
Consumer focused protection is much better than other laws in EU. Much more frequently enforced. Nintendo banned my account for using a code I bought on cdkeys. I reported them to consumer watch dog who sent them a letter and my account was reactivated a month later.
Normies may not know the tech but they'll feel it off somehow. It's why CoD is always 60 FPS.
I'm gonna let you in on a secret, the midwest and south are dogshit and the federal government does not care about them save for their votes.
They never help them and improve life there. Meanwhile in coastal states everything is updated fast and infrastructure is actually repaired.
Even in more "rural" parts of coastal states you'll get LTE. Just realize the Midwest/south is not even a 2nd thought and absolute irredeemable dogshit.
sony doing PS now didn't kill ps4 so I doubt it. Even assuming there's a serious audience for streaming, input lag is just about the most universally reviled thing in gaming besides EA.
Offline games on playstation have never required you to log in for them to work. Whatever's on your primary console will still work.
>coastal states
>infrastructure is actually repaired
You should come visit NYC sometime, watch out for all the potholes and trains from the 1950s
No I know that. I'm saying why would normies bother using this at all when they only buy a few games a year anyways? Its cheaper to just buy those 2 or 3 games locally on the PS4 or whatever console they use.
Tbh I believe you on this specific thing because I use EU law all the time to kick customer support around. I've got out of time refunds on steam, I've had data hording companies begrudgingly delete my shit in 24 hours or less etc
EU consumer protection law is absolutely based but companies do everything they can to cover knowledge of it up
Neck yourself.
And you're fucking retarded if you think Hispanics and Asians aren't just as racist as white people.
I don't want faggots like you trying to dictate what I can and can't say in an online game, fuck off.
Nice link faggot.
>le data cap face
Also europe doesn't even give a shit about it (aside from the UKucks) and Google isn't even releasing it in Asia. It will be shutdown in 1-2 years.
Meanwhile, in reality.
Only by pirating then with NPS.
Sorry my eyes glazed over because I'm used to the reverse argument of normies will be all over it because they can just buy the 3 games they care about without hardware (subscription fee is only for 4k/144hz.) and not care about input lag and shit.
How can someone unironically write this article? I haven't seen a single person think the Stadia is a good idea
They can try to cover it up but if they refuse to comply with your requests you need only send them an email while CCing the consumer watch dogs agencies in your email. They comply fairly quickly then.
>taking a photo of your hand
Ok m8, you win
>you need only send them an email while CCing the consumer watch dogs agencies in your email
that's good stuff user, thanks, I never thought about it that way
that would also work for using the ombudsman to fuck with my ISP
>all of them better than xbone x
fucking kek
Yea, look at this dude taking 2 minutes to take a picture of his hand to call a retard a retard, what a weirdo!
Oh no one tenth of a second, that’s really worth buying a switch instead of just using my fucking phone that i already have anyways
youtu.be
Timed exclusive
And it was only possible to make with Google offering to fund in after the disaster that was OMD unchained so it's not that bad
It's entirely dependent on your connection. This guy gets 55ms input lag youtube.com
If you don't have the connection for it, don't play it. Eventually everyone will, so it's just a matter of time
For a game like CSGO, yea, 100 ms of extra input delay is really fucking bad.
man I can't wait to pay monthly to have access to pay for games that want me to pay for microtransactions
>Meanwhile in coastal states everything is updated fast and infrastructure is actually repaired.
I used to live in California right next to Silicon Valley and can confidently tell you that you're full of shit.
He still claimed black people are totally ok with racism because they value free speech over being described as a slur, which is hilariously stupid, so yes I guess he won
>Verizon 4G at 1080P 60FPS 5mbps 40ms
notice how he's not filming his controller?
you can see how clumsy he plays crash bandicoot, almost like there's a massive input lag.
this video is 100% bullshit
Battlenonsense has a 150 Mbps connection.
Sorry m8, streaming is shit unless you're a poorfag consolefag.
6 additional frames of latency is pretty bad tbqh
suck where you live. I've had LTE since 2012. We're due for 5G in 2020
Do you think this is another "Youtube" type scam? Where all the numbers are in the red but they keep it going just to have the monopoly in their hands? When streaming games finally are a thing google's servise will already be ahead of everyone else
No, I claimed that black people don't like being told what they can and can't say.
Which is true.
But please, tell me, a black person, what you, a white person, know about what black people think.
I'd love to hear some white tranny try to talk about what I do or don't believe.
>more than 1seconds delay time
its DOA
>google's servise will already be ahead of everyone else
Execept Microsoft is even ahead right now
>Massive, persistent, beautiful worlds with thousands of concurrent players
That'd be impossible with Stadia too.
>tfw in NorCal
>Xfinity craps out whenever it feels like it (sometimes stays up for literal seconds at a time)
Normies already complain about getting throttled/hitting data caps just watching netflix on their phones. Now you have a service that won't even work unless you have a pristine connection without any throttling
It'll be DOA
Try again in 10 years Google.
Scott Pilgrim, Deadpool (For a while), Lego Lord of the Rings, Ducktales Remastered and lots of smaller stuff: steam-tracker.com
it won't even last 3months
>trains from the 1950s
Why upgrade something that the general population will just trash within a week.
>My plan's unlimited
No such thing, usually companies will freeze your activity if you go over 1TB in a month.
Stadia will use much more than 1TB in a week if you play multiple days.
It's set up to fail.
You can still play them if you own them.
you don't understand.
it has the servers in the same building while connected to it though Ethernet
google will run with it for 6 months, then lower the price for another 6 months and then silently kill it off
>usually companies will freeze your activity if you go over 1TB in a month.
Adorable
Which will not be the case with Stadia
Might be nice to have public transit that isn't third world for a change, but you're right
Oh really? And tell me Google and Journalist. Will by Cell provider allow me to Stream games on my cellular data? That shit is gonna cap it in literal seconds.
Why the hell would I play competitevely in a handheld environment. Oh well I’ll take the 5% hit to my performance. I can’t even PLAY Csgo otherwise. Handhelds are the “I’m bored need something to do” market, not the “I need the best possible performance” market. This thing is going to be a hit
Lmao. user we can have 8g for all I care the cell companies will still put stupidly low caps or "unlimited" plans making it moot.
>Average 24 milliseconds
Fuck me that's insanely good.
>porn analogy
God damn it, how could I have not seen Google(c) Stadia(tm)'s magnificence? What will we do Nintenbros?! We're doomed!
why the spike in july?
Guys I have a confession to make.
I'm just watching this shit making fun of all thats being shown off, laughing at the lack of exclusives and whatnot while doing something else on my other monitor and not really paying attention. Then it started showing the trailer for Watch Dogs Legion but I didn't see it was Watch Dogs before the trailer started. While it was going on I was getting really hyped because that trailer actually made it seem really good and I was super surprised it was a Watch Dogs game. Like the first two were made fun of to hell and back for being so shit, but that game actually looked fun.
Anyone else see what I'm seeing here? youtu.be
This shit actually looks really good.
Good, the Switch needs competition. Sick of paying $60 for shovelware.
God I hope. They make shit phones and even worse government censorship platforms.
YAAAAARRRGGGGHHH
Buy some good games then
the watchdogs game was at e3
I didn't watch Ubi's e3. What do you think I'm stupid?
ISP is currently crashing and burning. they can't admit they can't put the cables so they pretend forcing everybody to use phones network was always "part of the plan", and the governments pay for a smokescreen because they want to think the country is still progressing. The current network is already having issues with netflix and youtuve and both aren't even 4K 60 fps by default yet. Thinking they will magically upgrade everything to that standard AND add stadia 4K 120 fps 0 latency in the deal is fucking stupid. Nobody is investing to make it happen.
Honestly Stadia is probably another one of those "we're still doing things, honest" projects, like the constant Youtube revamps way back when they were pushing Google+ really hard (hell, Google+ in and of itself, nobody wanted "Google Facebook"). It's not viable and they really should know it. It's not viable in Silicon Valley, it's hardly viable within their own offices. Their own demos and play-tests for it had noticeable input-lag because of network latency.
They've got more money than God and their only true failure in recent memory was the Wii U, which still turned a profit last I read. Nintendo always wins baby, Nintendo always wins
>have 10ms latency
my FUCKING sides
>game setting : minimum, 1080p
no, no it's not.
In all seriousness why is the U.S so behind when it comes to internet speeds? Like why? How did this happen? Why didn't it happen to other countries?
>Google trying to spin a narrative that streaming games over public wi-fi can actually complete with actual portability
Look you can play Doom Eternal and Witcher 3 with the standard concessions of them being on a handheld, or you can play them through Stadia where every high-fidelity selling point has a million asterisks next it representing things that could possibly fuck up while you're doing it.
1080p is perfectly fine for today's display standard, reducing latency on the processing unit is way more important because reducing lag on any one of the many instruments that produce lag make for a better experience.
Capitalism
ISPs had monopolies and therefore no incentive at all to improve their shit tier infrastructure, said it was too difficult.
Government gave them billions of tax payer money to build said infrastructure. ISPs of course did jack shit and just gobbled up the money.
Now the U.S. still has a 90's tier internet system and in debt with several times spent to fix the problem than other countries did just doing regular upgrades.
America is fucking big.
>it was gone forever even if you paid for it
So you don't even own it? Because I can still redownload it to this day. P.T. is the only game they made that you can't redownload if you own it, and even then you can still redownload it just by using a proxy server that tells PSN to let you download it.
Because even with it's large population the US is too big plus it's population is scattered.
>'America has shit internet'
>New rules from the Federal Communication Commission mean that Charter “will not be permitted to charge usage-based prices or impose data caps” for at least seven years after the merger.
Tick Tock
>I...I like it better that way!
It's fucking CS:GO dude, you don't want to play at minimum anything. Ever.
Because our states are as big as your counties. This accounts for 90% of the world's confusion when it comes to the US (though usually people have a hard time understanding the people of New Mexico have a vastly different culture then those living in New York).
>want to play bloodborne on the go
>can't do it on switch
>can do it on remote play
Why do I want a shitch when a PS4 + Vita gives me more?
Streaming services were too early 10 years ago
Streaming services are too early today.
When will we be ready to stream?
>THE PHANTOM IS THE FUTURE
>MOTION CONTROLS ARE THE FUTURE
>3D IS THE FUTURE
>ONLIVE IS THE FUTURE
>OUIYA IS THE FUTURE
>VR IS THE FUTURE
>STREAMING IS THE FUTURE
lets see if the gaming industry can hold this thought for atleast 3 years before they scream about the next consumer assrape happening
Motion controls are still alive.
3D is the standard.
VR is still alive.
all of which can be redownloaded
>>Stadia
>have to pay for subscription
>still have to pay for each game
>on a streaming service
if it was literally netflix but vidya, i'd see it as a valid option for normies at least; but having to pay extra after already paying for a subscription is fucking retarded
The government has been paying them to do it for ages, they just pocket the subsidies.
if we're talking single player games, sure
but not fucking competitive shooters
Investor here.
I like Nintendo's brand power but what exactly is their future strategy? They sell proprietary handhelds but at the same time make apps for iOS and Android. They have an online subscription service but it doesn't offer compelling features. The Switch is poorly timed because it's in the mid stage of its cycle while all major competitors release next gen+ hardware and services in less than a year. I didn't even mention streaming yet.
What's the appeal for me?
The first Watch_Dog also had a hype first trailer full of empty promises, Ubisoft games are NEVER as advertised.
I'm talking competitive games as a whole. I play fighting games, less lag the better.
You get money for free
>Motion controls are still alive.
almost no game utilises them aside from launch window games and on PC the game library for that is almost all tech demo tier
>3D is the standard.
i was talking about 3D effect not 3D graphics, around 2009-2011 everyone was shilling that shit, hell its the reason the 3DS has that stupid 3D feature
>VR is still alive.
only Valve is making any investment in VR these days and the Vive is the worst selling headset of the big VR headsets
2 of these are more like zombies than dead, especially motion controls
I can't even use a stream link without lagging in another bedroom, but I'm supposed to be able to play 4k 60fps from a server halfway across the country without insane amounts of input lag? This shit will never work in our life time, and even the controlled demonstration was at 20-30 fps tops and had tons of input delay.
kek
Xbox is on its way out as MS prepares 3rd party moves
PC are autists, true.
Nintendo portability meme will end with streaming. More games are better quality. Plus kids can actually play fortnite on the go, something you can only do at home with switch.
PS is eternal.
I give stadia 1 year before google kills it
>A Black guy fucked my bitch
Why is this so common now?
>FCC
Hilarious
>Streaming
That shit ain't happening, you absolute retards. It's like you learned absolutely nothing from phone games or VR.
This. Google will do what it always does, it'll get bored with it and kill it off.
>he doesn't know
actually i agree, tired and misread what your argument was
sry, bud
PC is dead you cumb PC pirate mutt. PS4 only matters
>supporting the death of "console mommy didn't buy me" at the cost of letting Google into the market and normalizing streaming
You faggots are disgusting. kys
PS4 lifetime was outsold by the switch months ago in Japan. Vita sold less than PS4 in Japan.
This, PlayStation will still be around for when people don’t have a good connection or don’t want to deal with the tiny lag. Everyone else is fucked, especially Nintendo.
>scott baird
both phone games and vr are doing great, phone games are earning more cash than the entire console/pc gaming empire
literal mong
>could potential be fine with a good connection.
What do you count as a “good connection”
>not being grandfathered into ATTs truly unlimited plan
sucks for zoomers
Why would people want playstation over Stadia?
For gimmicks and handhelds you go with Nintendo
For pure performance regardless of price, you go with PC
Stadia targets that middle ground of playstation buyers who want better performance than the Switch but don't want to drop two grand on a desktop
All of Nintendo's major competitors are publicly traded companies, too.
no
retarded
Dude, is fucking Google
killedbygoogle.com
Okay then invest in one of them, I'm not here to shill a company for you or do your research for you.
>companies that make money from google adsense defend new google product
>streaming
>Handheld
>When most people cant even differentiate between a shitty modem and a high speed one
Based retard
I miss nexus phones.
>just gameplay trailers for 20 mins
Seriously? WHO the fuck thinks streaming games will be big outside of google's own californian sphere of influence? Even within California I don't think it'll do that well over the course of a year.
Well, it basically makes sense: As a modern company, the last thing you want to do is sell durable things, because then people won't buy them regularly. Hardware companies could use improved performance to obsolete old hardware, but now people are always going on about "the end of Moore's Law!!!!" so what're you supposed to do to keep obsolescence alive? And so the era of the "gadget" was born.
I’d rather have faggot console wars than steaming be the standard
That’s just consumer assrape and I won’t support that
Hell where I was in Petaluma California I had to buy a second phone just to fucking call my mom for fucks sake
>streaming will be a viable competitor to a dedicated handheld
My mobile data cap is 4GB a month and I already use up almost all of it just from loading image-heavy websites in regular usage.
I’d literally have enough data to play Stadia for about 15 min on the go, versus the 2 hours on battery that my Switch has.
>google stadia
>needs at least a minimum of 30mbps to play at least in 720p
>most of US still has mayor data caps
>you have to pay monthly for the service
>you still require to pay the games apart
>massive input delay
>to apparently "fix" Input delay, you need to buy a $70 controller
>stadia shutsdown you lose everything
do faggots here actually defend this shit?
youtube.com/watch?v=loZ3PGJj8aI
With the new Switch the battery life increased to 4 hours
>do faggots here actually defend this shit?
By and large, no, they don't.
It’s free you retard
>Play 4K games on your Phone!
Oh boy, I can't wait to burn through a month's worth of mobile data in 3 minutes.
it could be good, recent Ubisoft games like The Division 2 and the latest assassin's Creed have been legitimately good
>underpowered
>gimmick
>supposedly a handheld but too large and performs better docked
>dock scratches screen
>cheap, flimsy joycons
>library consisting of rehashes, shovelware, the worst versions of multiplats and kiddie games.
>insufferable, delusional community
>manchildren love it
>system of choice for trannies and the morbidly obese.
>smash tournaments known for being comprised of people with no concept of personal hygiene
>an embarrassment to be seen playing in public
>horrible online, overpriced.
>console is overpriced, very low value in general
>often referred to as several derogatory names, some examples include “cucktendo shitch” or just “shitch”, “Fischer price tablet” or more rarely the “NINtENDO SWItCH” (the lowercase t’s representing the low testosterone of the typical Nintendo console owner)
I could go on but I think we’ve all seen enough to agree that owning a Nintendo Switch is undesirable.
Except the stadia will perform worse than a switch so what's the point
It's worse than that, unless you live alone nobody else can use the internet or it will impact you.
>its free
>free is 1080p
>pro is $10 for 4k, surround sounds, etc.
>not every game supported
>no exclusives
christ
Reminder that just within the last 12 months, Sony has:
>moved the Playstation HQ to California
>censored games for no reason to the point of having Rated M games on Switch being Rated E on PS4
>forced Japanese devs to have meetings in English with no interpreter
>angered AA and below Japanese devs, pushing them away from the PS4
>been actively uncooperative with crossplay, making themselves the only platform not included in crossplay in several large games
>lost several console exclusives to Switch
>pulled out of E3 completely
>gone on record saying they're struggling to adapt to the current climate and thinks consoles will be obsolete soon
>announced they're going to be making fewer games from now on
>announced that they will no longer support smaller studios in favor of Triple AAA studios
>make the PS5 a niche only machine
>They will rise PS5 price thanks to China & US problems and instead to move out to the other country they said: "asking customers to bear part of the burden"
I thought most people couldn’t even play it past 720, so why does that matter?
Stadia won't kill anything other than hopefully people's trust in Google. It's literally physically impossible to make a streaming game service respond fast enough for non-turn-based games to be playable. You'd have to breach the speed of fucking light for that to be possible.
Good
Fuck the switch
Fuck nintenlards
I think you overestimate people's standards. Consolefags RIGHT NOW are happy playing at 30 fps with 1 minute load times due to no SSD, people who aren't avid gamers will be even less inclined to care, and the modern climate of moviegames is perfect for Stadia.
Cope
Nintendo has good games. That's the appeal. Nothing else matters.
People don't play switch because they're serious gamers. They play it because it has FUN games.
A constant framerate with decent latency is way better than targeted 60fps with 30ms delay. You are misunderstanding what the casuals find acceptable.
You mean ips that make them feel warm and fuzzy inside, and remind them of the 80s and 90s
>15%
I feel even that is too high. Fuck those people, get informed and stop lowering your standards. It should be fucking 5%
it depends on your internet
for 720p gameplay, you need the minimum of at least 30mbps
Google says at 30 you can do 4K. I DONT KNOW IF THATS TRUE but I’m going to at least try it and see how well it works when the base is free.
If you could (which you can't) it would have an abysmal bit-rate that it may as well be 140p
Yes?
Oh yeah Google stadia is gonna be awesome just like all the VERY successful streaming platforms like OnLive or OnLive but bought out by another company. Hey well at least OnLive that got bought out by Playstation is still going. Never hear about it or anyone using it but I'm sure it's doing well.
>2021
>people in certain areas are still using dial up
Ok
>vr
>doing great
What a delusional fuck. Phone games didn't affect video game sales at all because it's a completely different market, you absolute moron.
>downloading update for game while watching this
>video stutters and freezes
They still throttle you bro
Switch runs android
Stadia died to a discord group a few weeks ago.
Google Stadia should be worried about Xbox xCloud before they try to go after the Switch
literally every isp in the US has a soft cap, you might be able to keep playing games after you reach it, but you won't be playing anything online and the load times are going to be insane
Will take 10 years minimum for streaming become even viable
Watching the most recent Assassin's Creed game chug at 2 FPS was painful.
Y'all think that Sattelite plan is ognna help at all?
Make that 1 year tops. USA ISPs dont wanna give up the internet speeds necessary for this shit
>Stadia died to a discord group a few weeks ago.
???
what
I feel like stadia was made and tested exclusively for fags in silicon valley
Why is it that I'm 100% sure these threads are made by sony fanboys?
>people wont wear smart glasses or buy self driving cars.
>or buy self driving cars
Self driving cars are going to be huge when they are allowed to be commercially sold, especially in America.
if you read it it says that only 3% are interested and 12% don't know or are undecided
>15% are interested in a Netflix style streaming service
>Netflix style streaming service
Which is not what Stadia is
>streaming when 99% of the western world doesnt have high speed internet
>being maintained by a company that shuts down everything that doesn't make 2 billion in one year
>a company that also openly stated they don't know anything about video games or care
>their last nintendo direct show was heavily criticized for being too robotic/corporate and got next to zero views despite announcing they got cyberpunk
>streaming services will disrupt-
and stopped reading there.
Much better, now it just need to fail and we can happily move on with our lives. I look forward to a world where companies are legally not allowed to try to dictate how I can play a game I bought.
just like how mobile games killed consoles right?
Lol, no one is gonna buy the stadia no matter how hard they shill it. Nintendo lost its dominance a long time ago to mobile phones and emulation
America got cucked with internet thanks to cable loopholes. Asia as a whole has much faster internet than even the best plans in the best cities in the states.
Aah, I just love my games with an 150ms of sweet sweet latency
They went as fuck to shill literal Chinese fucking garbage as the BOTW killer
>Ching Chong ching Chong Chung
What a disgusting language
100ms is nearly unplayable, 120 is basically the limit
t. working on a game with online play
Google+:Video games edition. I don't know why google even bothers. Are they just incompetent?
Isn't she that toilet?
Who exactly will disrupt it? Google? Apple? Pff. It's pretty evident those dudes don't even understand how game culture works. They think that all that you need to sell a console is hardware, (and one that's not good for gaming). It doesn't take a genius to see that Stadia will be a flop. It just takes a little bit of research into gaming history. And by the way, how a service that requires large amounts of data to semi work will distupt portable consoles?
>c-brain reasoning
What? How?
Streaming needs solid internet, you cant get that through a hotspot yet.
Nintendo has Nintendo games, streaming has uh 4 year old Destiny games and ubisoft tower climber 5
That is the correct latin name for a woman, yes.
>have to pay a subscription
>have to have an amazing connection and non-existent data cap
>still have to pay for the games
>on bus to work
>time to play le stadia
>hold controller
>badly balance phone in my lap
>neck bent at 90° angle
>bus takes a turn
>phone falls out of my lap and the screen shatters on the dirty bus floor
>Plus kids can actually play fortnite on the go
Fortnite is on mobile
