Remember when you were 10 and you got a new game for your PS1 and you whined to all your friends about how shit the resolution was, how bad the aliasing was and how poor the framerate was and how that made it a worse game?
Oh wait...

I thought playstation was a place when i was younger
I don't think kids nowadays don't do that either because, you know, they're kids and don't really understand that yet.
No, back then we'd just say the game is ugly and bad, then switch to a better one.
I was older than 10 but I remember my friends n64 making my eyes water.
I could certainly imagine, comparing a 32 bit CD reader to a 64 bit behemoth with additional processing power in the cartridges would bring tears to my eye as well.
Gamestation used to be a store, I got that mixed up a lot
Yeah it was weird knowing a game was bad but not really understanding why. I rented an Action Man game on GBA and it was the first time I started realizing a game even could be shitty in the first place. The hitboxes were so terrible and I'd get hit by bullets that clearly didn't touch me at all. The horrible controls made it worse. I thought it meant the character was really unagile and weak and I didn't want to play a game like that.
Yeah, but nobody knew the industry buzzwords, so we just said, "The N64 has more graphics"
Nope. When I was 10, the PS1 was already like 16 years old so there were no new games for it, so I never complained about it since I already knew what to expect when playing games from that era. Plus I didnt have any friends at that age so there's that, as well. Checkmate atheist.
>implying I would touch that 32 bit garbage console
I had a better console with 64 bits
>He was 10 in 2011
Fuck off faggot
>Remember when you were 10
No
2010 actually. I was born in the year 2000 and I've probably been browsing this site for far longer than you, I've been on this shithole since 2009. Learn how to count and get on with the times, gramps.
>I've been on this shithole since 2009
Guys look he's so cool he's been on Yea Forums since he was 9
Those are just graphics related terms, so kids in that age range definitely use them, considering how often they're used in discussion and how widespread game journalism is.
It's no different from kids discussing graphics by bits in the 90s.
After N64, there was a bump in resolution every gen until PS4/Xbone came along.
How many generations since PS4/Xbone have we been languishing in this resolution purgatory? I've lost count of how many consoles have come and gone since.
Nah. When I was 10, I was playing Mario Sunshine and getting annoyed with the myriad bullshit in that game. I wasn't terribly interested in the PS1 and so I never bothered to get one. And even in the era where the ps1 was still kinda kicking, the Dreamcast and Saturn always seemed more mysterious and foreign to me, so I made sure to get them later on in the mid 2000s instead and was thoroughly satisfied with each.
Never really developed much of an interest in the PS1's offerings beyond trying a few RPGs and MGS though.
When I was 3 my first game was Tomb Raider on PC. When I played it again years later at a friends house, the textures were blurry and the game wobbled and flickered. Plus it looked pixely and ran slower. Nowadays i know it's because PS1 used lower res textures, dithering and texture warping. Plus a 30fps lock. I know that now but at the time I experienced my first feelings of smug elitism.
I was a PC aryan before any of your grandads figured out what watercooling was.

Jesus. That's not something I would brag about proudly, user.
When I was your age, the pc couldn't even handle smooth screen scrolling.
I thought it was like an elaborate toy place.
As a child I didn't complain about games or toys. My parents made it a big deal for us to be grateful and never bought us too much stuff.
Now I carefully select my games so I know whether I'll like it nor not before hand.
No one did, as only now do we have the tech possible to run games at better resolution, and with better graphics.
