Nothing. They can't be trusted to release uncensored game, so no one will ever pay for their games ever again.
Release a multiplayer patch in 2024
They actually have another game in the works.
Are you going to buy it, Yea Forums?
Not a single IF dev is working in Wrath. Retard.
They are dead mate. It would be a damn miracle if they'd ever release another game. Such a shame really. All we can hope for now are patches for IF and maybe Steam Workshop integration.
they already got WOKE. so the next thing should be getting BROKE.
if i was voidpoint i'd probably just leave 3drealms and start operating as an indie company now. make a press statement about how 3drealms really fucked them with this PR shit afterwards to make it clear that the censorship wasn't their idea. resetera and such will angrily start to spread the story about this company, and the gamer crowd (which largely outnumbers them) will see it as a good thing instead. voidpoint will now look like a downtrodden company that needs help, which will fuel their impending crowdfunding campaign. they just need to capitalize on their momentum and start developing something new asap
Sounds like a great idea honestly. But sadly, I feel like that's not gonna happen
the "gamer crowd" will not see it because they don't give a fuck
you're right Resetera doesn't play games, but neither does /pol/
Can they do it? I think they are obligated to release the multiplayer shit and maybe some DLC.
>if i was voidpoint i'd probably just leave 3drealms and start operating as an indie company now
thats not how it works
just compare the review bombs between angry resetera users (after the "some SJWs are nuts" statement) and angry gamers (after the apology). the ratio is like 3 to 1. and i never mentioned pol once in my post, because it's not relevant. actual gamers do give a fuck about stuff like this. i'd say most people you meet on the internet are opposed to having their games censored and their developers being forced to go to a reeducation camp.
like, do you think it's chad the normie buying games like this? no, it's clearly people who spend a lot of time online, researching and talking about their purchases. stop thinking like every game's fanbase is the same triple AAA "i buy games based on cover art" kind of mongoloid.
in the absence of evidence to the contrary, yes it does
The controversy didn't dent sales much. A big chunk of the refunds were made by people who bought the game just for the sake of reviewing and refunding it which has no net effect on profit, and it sold well to begin with.
i like the way you think taffer.
Then they would not get any money from IF.
>make a press statement about how 3drealms really fucked them with this PR shit afterwards to make it clear that the censorship wasn't their idea
3dr and Voidpoint made separate statements, and it was Voidpoint's choice to make the donation and change the game. 3DR didn't force them to do anything.
>in the absence of evidence to the contrary, yes it does
are you fucking stupid? do you know how publishers work? they have some exclusive rights to their game. Why would a publisher sign anyone if they were free to bail whenever they pleased?
So what's the narrative today lads? Last I heard it was "If you don't buy the game even after they cucked you're helping the SJWs", bitching about "review bombing" and switching from "schizo" back to "incel". Am I missing anything?
>muh pol
pol has absolutely nothing to do with it, you stupid tranny. it's normal people that have had enough of your degenerate mental illness freakshow assfaggotry and are pushing back.
kill yourself unironically you unwanted, annoying, insufferable creature.
I almost forgot "It was all the publisher they dindu nuffin" but this thread is full of that one
>it was Voidpoint's choice
...according to the 3drealms' PR guy. didn't some dude on voidpoint tell people to pirate the game? doesn't seem like a dev team that is fully ok with the current situation
can you link me the exact contract that explains exactly how the money is distributed and on what grounds voidpoint can be fired without having to pay them afterwards?
Yeah, most of the reviews on Steam are 0.1 hours played.
yes, 3DR has rights to Ion Fury, that doesn't mean Voidpoint can't leave, they just wont be able to sell Ion Fury under their name.
>according to the 3drealms' PR guy
Where are you getting this? That screenshot is from the Eurogamer article where they initially game these statements, and it says that the co-founders of Voidpoint made their own statement.
I'm guessing you're under 14 so I'll tell you something secret
Any contract in business involves a deal that is good for both parties
For publishers that is exclusive rights to publish a video game
There is NOTHING else for them to gain
If they have no publishing rights they are not a publisher, they are an investor
What do you think would happen if they say yeah we'll advance you 400k and advertise for you but you can quit whenever you like? Well you can just take the fucking money and run
It means Voidpoint won't be able to sell Ion Fury or anything related to it period
>how the money is distributed
Publishers get money from Steam based on sales, and they then pay the devs after taking their own cut. That's how the industry works. Voidpoint has a legal contract with 3DR and they can't breach it without getting sued to death.
Yes, so what? They just can't use Shelly, not a big loss to be honest.
So they can't make a single dime off the thing they spent years making? Are you fucking retarded?
They don't have to leave right now, i'm sure it can wait until the sales wind down.
Someone woke up on the wrong side of their body pillow this morning.
>If you don't buy the game even after they cucked you're helping the SJWs
becausa that is what you are doing, you can't dislike it but it is a FACT, all this outrage will force the devs to make their next games as safe as possible and self-censoring themselves before release like the Tifa situation.
Well they aren't owned by the publisher, they're free not to publish their next game with them, but Ion Maiden will always be 3D Realms' property
Pic related is the highest rated negative Steam review since the inception of Steam reviews.
Normal people are finally fed up with a buch of screeching professional victims ruining video games for everyone.
TrannyEra is scared SHITLESS that they might get cancelled for good by the industry and will lose all their influence.
Hence why you see so manny TrannyErians here, trying to deflect this shitshow towards "anti-sjw" and /pol/ of all things, trying to make it about alt-right white cis incel nazis. It's really pathetic.
Yes i know that retard. But Ion Maiden isn't some magical cash cow that will spawn money endlessly, they can ditch 3DR once the sales slow down, and work on something new. There are plenty of ways to fund projects nowadays, they could make a kickstarter, i'm sure that just the fact they were the devs behind Ion Fury would suck the cash away from any boomer near it.
>The bar on the right, representing today, that is more than double its length is the reaction of your own customers
>0.1 hours played
lol
did the lolcow that started this whole shebang get doxed yet
>Make games that plays worse than drunbk russian amateur modders
>saving anything
I FUCKING HATE YOU sometimes, Yea Forums stop being so fucking pretentious.
That's assuming they're an actual game company who will make another game and not just a group of modders who only know how to make games on the build engine
They can still use the build engine, i'm 99% sure 3DR doesn't own Build. Yes they might be modders, but i have seen plenty of mods worthy of being their own games, some with physical releases.
getting away with 3D realms and continue to piss off resetera
it's not that
most small-time passion project developers only have one game in them
dying thirsty in the ditch where Ira died...
That's a good point, but i feel like Ion Fury is so derivative of other games that it wouldn't really be the devs at their peak performance.
put it in the trash
