I really doubt they could causlize it more than some of the most popular fighters on the market right now.

I'm interested, but not even remotely excited. I'm more curious if it's going to be treated as a respectable fighter and how hard are they going to push it.

To be honest it would need to be a platform fighter and not classic 2D fighter to get mass appeal

a free fighting game where you can buy skins or characthers with ingame money or real money.

A year or so ago they bought a newly found studio which made Rising Thunder, a fighting game focused on simple abilities like League of Legends or Dota instead of complex combos like most other fighting games, after tjey release the game Riot went and bought them and integrated them into their studio, many thought that Riot was interested in making a fighting game based on League of Legends with the same formula as Rising Thunder but for some time now no one talked about it until now
