So, what was Yea Forums's opinion about Celeste? It has been praised absolutely everywhere and some people say it has the best story a video game has ever told. Thoughts?

It's a solid platformer. 7-8/10.

Great game, if you love tight platformers. Great music even if it was made by a tranny. It triggers the fuck out of the pol tards so thats a plus.

>some people say it has the best story a video game has ever told
Those people are fags.

That being said, it's actually mechanically an amazing platformer. Feels really good when you start understanding all of the nuances to it and start doing more advanced movement. It could literally have no cutscenes for all I care, the story was overrated and took itself too seriously to appeal to the hordes of redditors with depression. Just from a pure gameplay perspective though it's really great. I have the urge to play it at least once a year.

Never finished it but it was good overall

The story is literally the one awful thing about it.

It's really fun once the game starts teaching you advanced mechanics and you realize that you didn't actually unlock anything, you could do this all along

more like smelleste. this game stinks

fun platformer. I hated the characters, though, I've met a bunch of obnoxious selfish people hidden under the veil of depression and the characters reminded me of them.

>opinion on Celeste
its insecurity porn 101

iwbtg-like

Plays nothing like I wanna be the guy. Literally the only way you could come to that conclusion if you haven't played one or both of those games.

>I hated the characters, though
The thing I found most puzzling over the 'plot' was the fact that the only characterization the supposed protagonist had is that she has depression and panic attacks, apparently that's enough to write a compelling mc. No backstory, nothing interesting to say, just a regurgitated "learn to accept yourself" message.I mean, take Hellblade which tries to explore Shenua's mental illness while at the same time telling you her story and what the hell happened.

Horrible graphics and not much to offer.
low effort game but can be fun for a few hours before its boring simplicity overstays its welcome.

Great mechanics and music. Just ignore the shitty writing and it's a great game.

Madeline's deal is that she's defeatist on top of all that. Trying to conquer her defeatism is why she's climbing the mountain to begin with, because she's sick of giving up on projects halfway.

>some people say it has the best story a video game has ever told.
I guarantee you no one said that but you posted it anyway to trigger Yea Forums.

Yes of course I get that, but it's not enough for a character. Like, that's it? Might as well have removed the dialogues, but I suppose the authors think the players are too stupid to understand the implications of Part-of-me helping her climb the mountain and so sprinkled cringeworthy dialogue everywhere interrupting the flow of the hypest part of the game.

The retro-pixel graphics are eye-rape tier.

People are giving it more depths than the devs even intended, it's a short story that's meant to be told in the span of 10 minutes in a platformer, it's meant to be short and sweet, not compelling and deep.

>Muh rapebaby abortion

Who's got that picture of the developers at the game awards? That sums up what Yea Forums thinks about celeste
