I liked it.
I enjoyed it
Same here. I didn't like Fury Road but the game was surprisingly really good. Gonna replay it.
yeah, it was fun. Shame that the story was gated by side missions which were not as interesting.
ye i wanted that to get a little cult follwing and mod the cunt but it never happened
seems like it would be a fun survival base builder
combats kinda repetitive but jesus chrst the atmosphere is great
Played it when it was on game pass around a year ago it was surprising fun
I liked it but it made me mad that you access to the classic mad max XB falcon only occurred when you had nothing else to do.
It was an alright game, certainly above average movie license game, but there still were many shortcomings.
The main story was too short, white side quests and other padding was way too long.
There were too few big chases, and those that were there despawned after you cleared them, leaving you with empty world.
You could level up too fast, and in result you'd barely see that character that was there for it.
All mini-bosses and their arenas were copypasted, that's 4 identical bosses.
But I still liked it. Chumbucket didn't deserve that end.
Also photo mode is always welcome, had much fun with it.
Yes, I played it last year. It felt like the sequel to Road Warrior we never saw. Just standing by your car looking at the horizon could be kino. Raiding bases was thrilling since the combat system was so simple yet so enjoyable and the world felt fully alive with lunatics around every corner.
Then after 12 hours the repetition began to show and the grind began. When I made it to Gastown, I was hoping for something new other than "take down base", "pull down scarecrow", but then they sent me to get the lights, then I had to find a pit crew or some shit and that gas huffing bitch needed something. I clocked out after that at 25 hours. Still worth the purchase even if I can't be asses finishing it.
I somehow clocked 73 hours on my single playthrough, I was going for completionist though.
It seemed taylormade for completionists, yet every fucking base was the same, could've been great, ended up just being good. Did you 100%?
Enjoyable game for raw gameplay but story seemed rushed toward the end like the budget was closing in
We need more car combat games though I wanna make another magnum opus-fu
>best part of the game is the car combat
>only one activity for that + one camp
>races don't let you use your own car
What the fuck was that about?
>unpopular game
>v loves it
It's a pretty bad game, combat is absolute shit, literally half of the game is collecting literal trash. Driving is mediocre. It feels pretty Mad Maxy though.
damn i forgot
I really liked it. Needed a lot more side content, the open world felt like a lot of wasted space, not much to explore.
>gastown is a constantly visible beacon with massive fire pillars
>get there and spend 45 minutes inside the actual town then basically booted out
The thunderdome gave me a boner at first but there's nothing else you can do with it after the story mission
Yeah, I did. Its low budget really showed with those 4 identical bosses of big camps.
this was such a painful game to play
it was like batham/shadow of mordor with all the collecting and grinding but without the production value of the batham games
it really suffers from the open world game syndrome
I cleared some bases and outposts, then immediately stripped my character of clothes and used the longest beard I had, I would roam the wastelands by foot dodging convoys equipped with the odd spear or rare knife, but often relying on my fists for survival to get me through another day in hell on earth
>i wish the dog wasnt only for spotting mines i really didnt like the retard sex slave riding shotgun
one of the worst games I have ever played
I heard contrarianfags claim that it was better than MGSV.
>Batman, mordor and mad Maxwell are all wb games
>angry maximillian is the only one that got shit for using arkham asylums combat system
I never understood that criticism in the reviews they all had unique aspects and felt different from each other and mordor came out before xam dam
>those faggots that tried shilling this shit when MGSV was taking the spotlight
Lmao
good game, enjoyed it a lot. incredible weather fx.
one of the most emotionally brutal game endings ever
Batman and Mordor are fall-asleep easy as fuck and there's not much weight to the combat, whereas Perturbed Pablo has heavier combat and more difficulty overall, especially with how little you're able to heal. But for some reason those first two got way more praise.
It's one of the best ending in recent years my dude
That cumslut glitched and showed up in one of the outposts after she died for me
god I hate this gay thunderdome "wasteland" shit
they also gave Max the voice of an emasculated melbournian trying to sound hard
Mad Max 1 aesthetic is perfect
It's WB's own fault really, you can only reuse a combat style in so many games before fatigue sets in.
I must be a tard those orcs made me jump around like a tard quite a lot
I enjoyed the first Shadow of Mordor mainly for the arcade hack and slash fun, blast any MegaDeath album and jump into a hoard, reminded me of my dungeons and dragon days from my youth
>t.60y/o boomer
Maybe it was one of ghosts? After the game ends you have hallucinations of her and loli several times.
>But for some reason those first two got way more praise
Or because those two have gadgets and abilities and Max is just button mashing. But DUUUDE Max isn't popular so it must be good
Definite 7/10 game.
Would've been a 10/10 if they got Mel Gibson to do the facial scan and voice, though.
>t.60y/o boomer
How do you find modern games? Did they really turn to shit or is it just us millenials? What are your favorite games post 2000?
>batboy felt new and fun cuz it was a good superhero game
>shmordor used a sword and a spooky ghost
>hangry hammond had a sawed off and beat people with rusted bolt knuckles
That's more innovation than most games
>blast any MegaDeath album
>not blasting viking metal and/or any other Tolkien inspired metal while slaughtering orcs
Boomers DO have shit taste.
Haven't played it since 2015 gonna have to go back at some point
>>hangry hammond had a sawed off and beat people with rusted bolt knuckles
On top of the vehicle combat and customization. Those were the two most important things for any Mad Max video game adaption to get right, and the game mostly got it right. The exclusion of motorcycles, even just as enemies, was retarded.
>2015
>hype as fuck for phantom pain
>cant wait to go nuclear with big boss and descend into hell
>unfinished trash game disappointment
>play mad max after
>that scene where the girl and the kid die
>right after is one of the best nuclear scenes of max angrily driving towards the edge of a cliff
ill forever remember that moment
Only thing that was awful about it was hunting for upgrades
Fuck mine clearing
Going from pong to what we have now is honestly awe inspiring, but from hearing my grandkids I can understand the frusteration, it seems a lot of modern games are more of a shakedown for quarters mirroring arcades, compared the original idea of home consoles of just being a solid game to complete and replay over years.
>time splitters, sphinx, that dreamcast game from japan with the anime girl where you do the dance moves, quake, tf2
i paint with a broad brush my steam account is too large to think and i might have alzheimer's
I'm seeing Road Warrior in 35mm this weekend lads
>mad max has no gadgets or abilities
did you play it
>Tolkien inspired metal
THE FATE OF US ALL
LIES DEEP IN THE DARK
WHEN TIME STANDS STILL AT THE IRON HILL
>that kino dream sequence
Also just remembered you get back your Interceptor at the end of the game. But it's such a bad timing as I've already done everything in the game at that point. Definitely gonna use it and movie Max skins when I'll get around to replaying it.
>muh MGS didn't do what I expected it to do
Fucking MGS4 fags. Every MGS other than 4 did exactly this but 4 fags think they need to be catered to. No, go play Raiden after MGS1 or go play a flashback after a cliffhanger ending of MGS2. That's what you get bitch, that's MGS.
Ignore what newfags say, it's an honor to have you in my thread. The changes in gaming from my early childhood of the late 90s to now has been dramatic, I can only imagine what it's like for you.
>and i might have alzheimer's
I hope you're joking. If not that's a shame. I thought games were supposed to stimulate memory and prevent it.
I did and I don't remember them. Must've been totally useless.
keep your viking roleplay I play what gets me hyped.
Steal the film rolls
It's not like the other games aspired to be so goddamn boring.
Did the same thing.
I even went to the midnight launch of both games since they came out the same night, for some reason. I expected to love MGS V and think Assblasted Alejandro would be meh. Somehow my opinions were switched with both games.
Holy fuck. The scene where the girl and the kid die honestly caught me by surprise. I thought the devs were going to do something stupid and let Max walk off into the sunset, happy.
Looking back, I liked Mad Max a lot more than I probably should have.
I still can't believe Max just murked Chumbucket like that. I know he's not supposed to be a good guy but he isn't evil either.
>didn't like Fury Road
sorry to hear about your vasectomy.
With exception of 2, every MGS game delivered exactly what their trailers were selling. Don't pretend like everyone wasn't adamant that it wouldn't be a revenge story with heavy emotional involvement from V, and would link events of Naked prequels and Solid storyline. Story-wise MGSV has been the biggest vidya-related disappointment in all my 27 years.
iirc, Max did tell Chumbucket to get off the car and leave, but Chum didn't want to leave the car, so Max didn't have a choice.
>Strong Independent Brave Women Kicking Ass And Taking Names And Driving Cars And Shooting Bad Guys and mad max The Movie
i wish it had more interesting combat.
"bamham" style is an abomination meant only for console mouthbreathers.
I still managed to enjoy the game, and its quality in terms of performance was very impressive. never dropped below 144fps maxxed out
Don't forget just how poorly cast Tom Hardy was as Max. I like him in other movies, but he really just blended into the background of Fury Road. That movie was 100% Furiosa and that one warboy.
Y'all fags really blow it out of proportion.
yep pretty much this
but i liked it
max being the main side character was interesting
He'll never top Bronson.
have you seen any mad max film?
Max was the window for the audience to experience the world around him, he barely talks in the orignal trilogy.
>the stronk grandmas was retarded as shit, and there was a heavy push for strong womyn
but Max always took the bitch seat for the wackier characters he encountered in the original films.
Yeah, he's a good actor but man was it an inappropriate cast.
Honestly, I'd like to see Daniel Craig if they went for a more "Max is getting older" angle. Hardy makes him look younger. I don't remember if it's meant to be a prequel or if there's even any solid canon there in the first place, not like there's really EVER been a canon to Mad Max anyway, it's more just Mel Gibson drives somewhere, kicks the shit out of some post-apocalyptic Aussiepunks, then drives away.
Steam sale for mad max it's like 7 wombat dollars, worth it? My friend loves it but i've always thought it looked kinda shitty apart from upgrading the car.
The Warboyz were the main reason to watch that movie desu.
Still pretty fucked up, that car was Chumbucket's life work. It doesn't help that I didn't give a shit about that hooker and her daughter.
When you weight 900 lbs and live in mom's basement and are intimidated by blacks and women you tend to lose your mind at the idea of a woman doing anything that isn't in chains on her knees.
When you're a little pussy bitch you have to imagine that people smaller than you are lesser than you.
>tfw you will never be a war boy on an 18 wheeler convoy in the middle of the wasteland smelling burning guzzoline as you prepare to sacrifice your life for the great immortan joe against a raiding party and a mad man with a sawn off.
It's only 7 dollars, give it a shot.
i guess
it's just steam refused my last refund attempt
>I don't remember if it's meant to be a prequel or if there's even any solid canon there in the first place
Apparently Fury Road was supposed to start filming sometime in 2003 or 2004, but was put on hold when Mel Gibson got in trouble with the whole "jews" thing. From what I've read, it was going to have a fully "Mad" Max with Gibson having a beard and barely remember who he was and what his past was.
While I agree for Road Warrior and Thunderdome, the og Mad Max was pretty focused on him as a character, showing how a dying world turned an already off the cuff cop to an absolute mad man
Yeah but when Max took the backseat it was to show off crazy post-apocalyptic characters through the eyes of the only sane man, and he was still a massive badass who got shit done, and he was never shafted for lame political agenda. I don't think Hardy's Max got pussified or anything but the stronk womyn were clearly front and center and the heroes of the movie, and Max was a supporting character rather than the lead.
And since the director himself also said all of this and proudly bragged that it was a feminist movie, yeah, I think it was shit. Luckily outside of namedrops the game has nothing to do with it and Max looks more akin to Gibson than Hardy.
>imagine being so sensitive this is all you could take away from the movie
wow I'm so glad I'm not you
>And since the director himself also said all of this and proudly bragged that it was a feminist movie
Source? The closest thing I can find is about the vagina monologues writer and that was to get the brides as authentic as possible.
my greatgrandfather had the symptoms but I never really knew him, my mother was batshit insane and kicked me out at 16, never saw her again after that, I get confused a lot often, but i don't drive and my wife has always been there for me.
It's not so much the quantity you get but the quality. I love my two daughters and my lil niglet grandchildren and I pray I dont become a burden on them if things get worse.
Hug your family and friends guys you never know when they'll be strangers to you.
its not a bad game and its memorable
i get buying a single player game nowadays seems shit like give multiplayer but nah
this is certainly worth 7 bucks if you get a buck an hour outta it
and you will get that value
i fucking hate batman games purely for the combat but i enjoyed trhis
I hate the ending.
fair points all around, all im saying is I can tune out the modern propaganda and see Furiosas motivation and enjoy the over the top action that took place, it turned Road Warrior's icon of being a long chase and made it literal, for the better.
But i understand if all you see is the behind the scenes agenda.
>again, amazonian grandmas is retarded as shit
>That scene where you find out the woman and the girl are dead
I'M NUCLEAAAAAAAR
Surprisingly fun but it really helped that I already liked Mad Max. This tied into the setting/atmosphere which were even better with their lighting and weather effects. Photo mode also helped appreciate even more.
Really enjoyed anything that had to do with the cars, from the customization to the combat to the driving/racing.
Everything else was meh.
>tfw you find out Chumbucket took the Magnum Opus away like a little bitch and you hunt him down
I see I wasn't the only one mirin that room's atmosphere.
It was the perfect fanservice game for people into the Mad Max universe. Very far from a perfect game though, and I wish something could have been done about balancing the driving combat difficulty. Even before you get the thunderpoon it's annoying that you can just auto aim at peoples doors, and even the drivers themselves and just yank them out with an infinite ammo harpoon.
>pretending this doesn't happen in the middle east or Nevada
garbage
They do throw a shitload of guys at you though that rubberband to your speed so you can't evade them easily. Some of the more upgraded cars too eat your ass inside out.
This game was terrible. Crappy batman one button combat. Car "combat" without the fun weapons of twisted metal. Intentional dickbag protagonist that's a cunt for no reason. Generic open world full of filler content.
Just another Warner bros cash grab grind.
>Nevada
Can confirm. Only in the god awful commiefonia cities like vegas and reno does this shit not happen.
I want to replay it but I remembered it's grindy from time to time and there's no ng+
You just know you'd be that one loser who drops the revolver Joe personally gave to you.
I’ve considered getting this (it’s frequently discounted to $5 on Fanatical) but I’m not a fan of the Arkham Asylum-type games
I don't think Mad Max needs any sort of chronology after the first one, he's always read to me as some sort of burnt out wasteland Paul Bunyan.
I love how the NPC dialogue in the game supports this so much, they keep talking about you and your legend with that religious reverence like they expect you to fade away into a mirage if they look away for a second.
which is why I find fury road fits in after road warrior but before thunder dome.
I wanna see elderly max on his last legs similar to the Hulk Apocalypse comic where bruce banner tries to kill himself in the wastelands but the hulks anger regenerates him to keep him suffering and angry, even if he gets torn to shit and becomes a bloody pulp by giant wasps he'll still always come back as a tired old man
i remember when the loli died
Sounds like a great premise to me.
>women in movies is propaganda
lol
Nice game. A shame its replayability is near zero
I made it all the way to the last town after having basically cleared the whole map, then just stopped playing. I don't know why. I sometimes think about playing it again. What does that mean?
Max fucked their shit up several times, even when he was cuffed.
>what does that mean?
Finish it, couldn't take more than an afternoon
. Pretty fun game. Getting 100 percent is tedious but you don't have to. I didn't.
Fucking hell.
Yes, it was great. It’s the devs only good game.
Damn, I just checked and you're right. I was sure there would be, what with all the endgame unlocks.
Want to try that again, compadre
Best 7/10 game
Shame that they inflated the grind to upgrade your shit to hide the fact that the meat of the campaign itself doesn't have much content.
Shame that the development team that took over for Just Cause 3 fucked the series up just as it started to get good before they came along.
I remember everyone jerked it off like it was the best thing ever when it was the most mediocre pile of shit you could come across. Nothing was happening at the time in 2015 so people forced excitement for this bland game.
What? At the time everybody was playing mgsv and nobody even talked about mad max
>then I had to find a pit crew or some shit and that gas huffing bitch needed something.
It's funny, because that's the exact point that I checked out too.
Busywork: The Game
But Mad Max came out last year
sure i do. best car combat ever
the irony though is that the same dev made rage 2 KEEEEEEEEEEEEK
>when you're a bitch you have to make the other person small like I just did
Fucking idiot.
Are you actually a retard?
A really good game. One of those games that you buy, play, put back on the shelf and lend to a friend
best 7/10 game of all time
the isolation is comfy
Fury Road dose have very VERY obvious Feminism virtue signalling in it and that's EXSACTLY what the director wants and how he promotes his film. During some interviews, George Miller openly admits he consulted with some renown feminist writers such as Eve Ensler to revise his film script in order to show femisim ideology more sharply in his movie to audiences. It's even written in his fucking wikipages and various promotion interviews, reviews.
If you fucking homosexual libercucked tranneet shitlords still fail to see it, there are only three explainations for such retardness: 1. George Miller completely fail his job; 2. You are pretending to be retarded and divert the subject; 3. You are actually retarded and simply too low-IQ to see his intention in the film.
Considering most audiences, critics can see the feminism intention crystal clearly and even the director admits it, so it's basically just you fucktards being point 2 and 3.
All I can think of after seeing that is this
>woman doing anything that isn't in chains on her knees
Nah, we just don't like when women try to act like men. She stops being a woman at that point.
>gender is determined by genetics!
>women stop being women!
fucking decide already you deciduous fucknut.
he did say that
but furiosa is a beliavable character, and every other womyn in that movie is a sex slave.
feminism only really got out of hand shortly after that movie was released, there was a time when feminism used to be reasonable and didn't automatically mean "fuck all white men".
Well people reacted the same in regards to Black Panther, claiming the movie was going to be all about BLM and lefty politics, but it ended up being quite conservative. Seems like this is the case with Fury Road i.e. the media is portraying it as something else in order to push a certain ideological narrative.
I always found this odd, in the game and in some of the movies, where there’s only a few people that remember The World That Was. Max was never that fucking old, so it makes sense the war boys dont have any recollection, but anyone in their 30’s should have some memories of the old world.
Reasonably, the end of the world should have only happened about 20 years ago, in universe, but everything and everyone acts like it’s 100+
Feminism is nothing but "fuck all white men". The feminism we have today is EXACTLY what it was originally meant to be, when it first spawned from the communist manifesto.
>B-b-b-but muh women's suffrage
Completely different and has nothing to do with the current form of feminism.
no there were first second and third waves and the lines are blurred as hell
some even say there is a "forth wave" because of all the infighting. when buzzfeed makes an article saying "manspreading=bad" that is third/fourth wave feminism. i watched nu-mad max and i didn't see those values being reflected in the movie, this is why i don't have a problem with it
You can handwave Road Warrior by using a few scenes from it, but yeah the shit doesn't fly for Thunderdome and Fury Road.
I just like to think of the movies past Road Warrior as legends people tell and the name "Mad Max" is just a name they like to use for these legends.
Yeah.
I’m kind of hoping for a re-visit back to the comfy days of leading up to the nuclear war like in Mad Max. Civilization is there, but just barely, and based leather jacket cops and bike gangs.
i do. it was fun while it lasted
I can't be the only one who found the vehicle combat kinda shit. You could make your car as tanky as possible, yet you're still more fragile than a baby panda egg. And in order to fuck anybody up, you'd kinda just have to cheese rockets.
I even found the bamham combat more enjoyable and it was not particularly great
it's a skinner box extraordinaire
sadly, once you play to 100% a bunch of them, you can't anymore
it's like the reward loop stops working
reminder Rage 2 killed Mad Max 2
THANK YOU, BETHESDA
Pretty good imo. That said, fuck mine clearing missions, the existance of those alone was enough to make sure I won't 100% anything.
Would have been nice if there was more vehicle customisation rather than mainly upgrades.
Also it seems odd to have Mad Max without any bikes at all.
>Crossout
Talk about wasted potential, sheesh.
I remember rolling my eyes as soon as Chumbucket showed up.
But I quickly grew fond of him as his affection and devotion to the car shown.
Shame what happened to him.
>Intentional dickbag protagonist that's a cunt for no reason.
Typical millenial. Even if you don't know Max's history, the world itself gives every reason for the character to be the way he is.
